Hi
I have a HTC Desire phone and it has no problem with wifi on any 2.1, 2.2 or 2.3 Rom.
But after installing android 4.0 Rom I found that wifi its not working .
It will be turned on but stocks on " Searching for wireless networks" and after 2 or 3 minutes setting gives force close.
The problem is the same for all android 4.0+ Roms ( 4.1 , 4.2 , 4.3 , and 4.4)
Some times when installing new roms for first boot after installing it shows wireless networks but cant connect to any of them.
and after turninig wifi off & on It cant find wireless networks anymore.
I ask for your help .
Please help me because i really want to use android 4 roms but because of this problem I have to back to 2.3 Roms.
I am on Stock Hboot
And this information on bootloader page

You [and all cdma variants (like me even)] will have to wait for kernel development as alquez states in his OP of that thread.
or
Restore your nandroid backup of stock (easiest fix).

Rob

Hope it comes soon...I forgot to make a backup before i went to cm7....however I do have a second Wildfire S thats rooted but for some reason i cant get into recovery to back up that ROM....it gets stuck on the white HTC screen....any ideas?
ideas
Can you boot to hboot [on second phone]? If not you are either semi-bricked or bricked. Still assuming you cannot get into hboot, go download the htc sync drivers, set up your environment [Google has a guide that walks you through it], then with the phone connected to your computer [and on] type "adb devices" If you get a return that looks like a short serial, it can be fixed... If no devices found... well, it will take someone smarter than me If you can boot to hboot, it can be fixed no problemo... Hit me back with results [via pm] I can't follow every thread I respond to.
Regards,
Rob
PS it sounds like the 2nd phone has had either a bad recovery or wrong boot.img flashed to it w/o knowing more
I used the program wifi file transfer pro for a whole year i think, and now,i flashed rempuzzlerom v2.40 and it's not working, the program itself works, but when i type the adress in pc browser,it is said that the browser cannot find the adress :/ i tried another program like this and it have the same problem can someone help me?

Same problem...I try almost all wifi transfer app on market and no luck with any of them :S

I had this issue with the above mentioned app while on a different ROM.
I solved the issue by changing the Kernel.

can u provide a link to a good-working kernel?)
I'm afraid not as I have never used the RemPuzzle Rom - I would suggest putting a post in the ROM thread or trying one of the many Kernels listed under 'Add Ons' in the link below...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11802262&postcount=1
i flashed the kernel InfinityPLAY and it worked yaay! i tried 2 other programs and they work too)
Excellent stuff!
Glad it worked for you too, others may wish to try this also.
damn, not working well, everything works well besides the wifi,it worked well bu then the wifi networks as the connection dissapeared does anybody know a good kernel for sense based roms?
Have you tried the Stock Kernel?
Nope( i wanted but even in rempuzzle's thread it is written that the stock kernel can reduce the speed/performance of the Rom.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda premium
Okay,
I would suggest you direct all further discussion to the ROM Developer.
Hopefully he can help solve the issue...
unfortunately, there is not a working kernel for sense based roms at the moment,as soon as it will appear one,i will post it here) thanx to all)
I found the solution,i installed a HCDR Jacob's kernel v4.1 and it work wifi file transfer, here is the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=798471:D
notice: i trait v4.2 but wifi doesn't work for me
seem that it's working!!! i tried too 4.2 and i had problems with wifi too,but i didn't tryed 4.1
thank you for help, let's hope that we will not discover any other problems after flashing this kernel)))

HTC One M8 (T-Mobile) Mobile Hotspot with Skydragon ROM v10.0 Stuck on "Processing"
Hello, I have had the issue of Mobile Networking sharing on my HTC One M8 being stuck on "Processing" and being unable to use the function. I am running this rom on v10.0. I remember using a fairly old version of this ROM, probably v1.0 or so and tethering worked fine for me.

}
Hitting "Off" will turn the mobile hotspot "on", but also gray out that square and no network hotspot is created.
Hitting "Off" will dim the screen black and have the word "Processing" in the middle and freezes my phone. I am forced to mash the home button to get out of that screen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you very much!

My HTC Desire 625 used to be a Cricket phone, was unlocked and now I'm using it with T-mobile. I'm having the very same symptoms. Don't know much about ROMs or rooting. Any advice how to fix?
Thanks,

It's not the same problem. Completely different device, and the thread is specific to Viper ROM on the M8.
It's unlikely anyone here has any info about your specific phone. And following advice intended for another device can in incorrect or even harmful to your phone.
What I can say, is that WiFi hotspot is often disabled on stock US ROMs, on various devices.

Many people have reported that requesting a new token and sometimes using a different browser has worked for them. There are a few threads about this if you search the Q&A section.
Here are some threads with people experiencing the same issue. Hopefully one of the solutions will work for you.

Hello there, sorry before. Because i'm new here. I have same problem like u before, but now solved. I got this clue from note3 threads. First, find mi max flashrom ! . Second, take 'non-hlos.bin' file inside 'frameware update folder' and copy to your adb software installed folder. Finally, flash that 'bin' via fastboot. Clean cache+dalvik, Reboot and done. Sorry for my english and less info.
