Hi guys!
First, i'm new to Android and starting to get known to flashing my device.
I have read many tutorials and threats, but never found an exact answer:
My One V is hissing when i use the headphone, which seems to be a common problem on the One V. Somewhere i read, that flashing the Kernel will help and remove this noise. Is that true?
My device:
Android: 4.0.3
Sense Version: 4.0
Software number: 2.22.401.7
Kernel: 3.0.16-g133e482 [email protected]#1 PREEMPT (I dont know what this is, I got the device used...)
So i read that there are some custom Kernels like Hellboy or Kiss, but do they help removing the hissing sounds?
If they do, which Kernel should i choose?
I'am afraid of bricking my device for nothing and would be glad about some help by you!

Kernel: 3.0.16-g133e482 [email protected]#1 PREEMPT is the kernel build. you're on stock it seems. It might be your headphones, try others and see if it's still there.

I already tried 5 different inears and even some studio headphones. there are also several other guys here on xda-developers, who have the same problem. It seems that only the stock HTC Kernel devices have those problems, for examples the devices by the german provider O2 do not have those problems.

I understand what you mean and i dont think it depends on what kind of headphones you use. My audio technika headphones even have it. Do you hear the gissing constantly? Or does is disappear when there is no sound playing? It could be the audio output shutting on and off, I have no solution to this.
U won't brick your device till u follow the procedure correctly... + if you are s-on, u r at safer side... Rest about the hissing sound... I also get it sometimes with hellboy... But not a big deal...
Our Nedterfo
on my device, the hissing lasts about 3 seconds longer than the sound played. Until it turns of the headphone jack. But unfortunately it is not only a hissing, but also some other nasty sounds while playing the songs, which makes the device unusable for listening music (for me).
I found several reports of the hissing problems, and also that those two specifications do not have these problems (at least it was reportet):
Software-Version: 2.08.401.2
Kernel-Version: 3.0.16-g42caf24
Baseband-Version: 20.72.30.0833U_3831.17.00.18_M
Hissing: No
Software-Version: 2.08.401.2
Kernel-Version: 3.0.16-gd5b834a
Baseband-Version: 20.66.30.0831U_3831.15.00.19_M
Software-Version: 1.61.207.2
Kernel-Version: 3.0.16-ge3b527d
Baseband-Version: 20.69.30.0832U_3831.16.00.12_M
Hissing: No
and those, wo have the hissing problem:
Software-Version: 1.56.401.2
Kernel-Version: 3.0.16-gd5b834a
Baseband-Version: 20.66.30.0831U_3831.15.00.19_M
Hissing: Yes
Software-Version: 1.56.401.2
Kernel-Version: 3.0.16-gd5b834a
Baseband-Version: 20.66.30.0831U_3831.15.00.19_M
Hissing: Yes
Software-Version: 2.08.401.2
Kernel-Version: 3.0.16-g42caf24
Baseband-Version: 20.72.30.0833U_3831.17.00.18_M
Hissing: Yes
So, on the one hand, it might be the combination of kernel and software version, on the other hand it could be a hardware problem. Any suggestions how to go on? Perhaps there exists a custom rom without the problem? I have read through several of them, but never found something like "Hissing problem solved" in the fixes.

Hello guys!
I have recently purchased Galaxy Nexus (White), the performance is flawless, the only issue I am experiencing with Stock 4.1.2 is that during calls my phone just reboots, by during I mean after 2-5 minutes.
So my question is does anyone have this issue? Does anyone have idea how to resolve it? Does this bug persist in custom ROMs? Or is it a hardware problem (I highly doubt there would be because in normal state it never reboots)?
I have found numerous users reporting this issue in Nexus S sub-forum but I have failed to find any relevant answer regarding thus issue in Nexus' forums.
Information regarding my device:
Baseband Version: I9250XXLF1
Build Version: JZO54K
Hoping for a positive reply!

I have the exact same issue, I mean i had if I may say, since 2 days I'm in safe mode because of this and no reboots since then.
I'm calling it with another phone continuously. If the phone seems ok in the next one day in safe mode, then some app can cause it and have to manually uninstall one by one to find the faulty app.
Hope it helps, You may try safe mode also.

Sorry, but I don't get anything
Anyone else?
*Sorry for MAJOR bump*
For all those looking for solution, the issue has been resolved by flashing CM10 nightly! Which means that there's some bug in the JellyBean OTA and not in the hardware.

Why bumping such an old thread. Anyway. Just flash the factory image via fastboot. This will wipe everything stored on the phone but will iron out any issue (most of the time). This is always recommended with a second hand nexus.

Bros,
I have tried to search our forum as well as search on google but could not find any clue. So I post here hope to get your help. Thank you very much in advance.
My Note II, suddenly behave very weird and strange. It open apps by itself; at times, when I open my phone, I saw Gmail openned, new mail created ... by the phone itself. And it freeze quite often, but for a very short while. Especially every time I go to all Apps then return to home screen, whole machine freeze for about 10 seconds then resume. At times at lock screen, I can't unlock the phone, the interactive screen still response but did not unlock.
I have Factory Reset the phone, it still the same even when I had not installed any software in yet, bare stock rom.
I have installed EMMC check and looks like it's not ESD for my case.
My phone:
Model: GT-N7100
Android Version: 4.1.2
Baseband Version: N7100XXDMF1
Kernel Version: 3.0.31 - 1071214, SMP PREEMPT Fri May 31 11:14:19 KST 2013
Build Number: JZO54K.N7100XXDME6
I am running out of direction. Please help, I appreciate it a lot.
Any one? Appreciate your help very much

Hi,
I've been reading allot but I got lost a bit.
I have an i9195 LTE bought in Germany (but not used in Germany), and the biggest problem I have is the low volume of the device. I can barely hear the ring.
I decided to wait for the KitKat update to see if triggering KNOX will cause problems.
I tried the safe root which did not work for me.
Should I update to KitKat and then root? Will the update itself improve the volume issues?
Do you recommend updating to KitKat or will it bring more problems?
Important: I "unlocked" the device in Germany with a local sim, the update should not reverse this, right?
I am also missing the option to choose LTE network, how can I fix this?
Many Thanks !
Details of my device:
Model number: GT-i9195
Android version: 4.2.2
Baseband version: I9195XXUBML4
Kernel version: 3.4.0-2340422
[email protected] #1
Sat Dec 21 01:33:54 KST 2013
Build number: JDQ39.I9195XXUBML4
SE for Android status:
Enforcing SEPF_GT-I9195_4.2.2_0022
Secure boot status: Samsung
anyone please?
Waiting for an answer too, volume is quite low yeah but I've read KitKat users have many bugs and it is better to stick to 4.2.2 for a lil bit..
NO!!! .. you have ml4 i think it doesnt have knox !! .. wait as the kitkat wont help you .. just wait for a stock no-knox rom and flash my volume boosting mod
It does have knox, and from what I read it doesn't have saferoot available.
It's hard to follow all the threads regarding the rooting options and possible issues I will encounter, so I hope someone could recommend me what to do..
* The main issue that bothers me is the volume, which I need root to fix.
* If I root will it be problematic to upgrade to KitKat?
* Is KitKat better or should I stick with 4.2 ?
Thanks !!

no need to open new thread it is inaff to write what you want in the old one. Now unlock your bootloader and choice custom rom Sense 5 like Maximus HD or ARHD or ViperX or what you want it is important to be sense 5 then flash philz recovery 5.15.9 and then install some sense 5 rom and see if the mic work or no

IMHO rooting can make phone better.I'm running same specs like yours but rooted.never had a problem.flash many rom(sense based & aosp rom).now back to stock to have some rest [emoji13]
If see that problem, that's not a hardware failure.

i am kind newbie about LG G3, I'm confused which proper stock rom should i download
i.imgur.com/WGtRjy8.png
*incase u all cant see my pic above
Software Info:
Android Version : 5.0
Baseband Version : MPSS.DI.2.0.1.c1.13-00048-M8974AAAAANPZM-1
Kernel Version : 3.4.0
Build Number : LRX21R.A1440231662
Software : V20u-TWN-XX
Open the battery cover and read the model number is written above your battery. Most likely if your not from US your G3 is the international model (D855)

just go to the hardware info is just on top of the software info (the image that you took is from that tab) on the config app and you will see the model of your phone then just look for the ROM that matches it you can check here http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=41.
also remember that it´s very important to check if it´s a 16Gb model or a 32Gb model because the software changes depending on that too.

Your model is definitely a 32 gb variant right? by looking at your software ver your phone is for the taiwanese market
V20u - just released a month or 2 ago from V20i
-TWN- taiwan 32 gb or -6WN- taiwan 16gb
All of you have my thanks , I really appreciated that effort
Actually, my phone have a problem on left ear channel and distortion occur when I was listen to the music using headphone/earphone. So, I think several possibility to solve this issue.
-First, install G3 tweaksbox and do audio tweak .
-Second attempt I will install custom rom if G3 tweaksbox fail to solve the audio distortion problem.
-If both method fail, i will demand replacement
