Hi everybody! Here's where the story begins... I replaced the digitizer/lcd on my GS3 sgh-i747. In the process my antenna connector on the main board decided to unroot it's self. I replaced it with a t999 board and noticed a Sim unlock code pop up on startup after transplant. I went through the normal factory reset b.s. Then I rooted and flashed Synergy thinking I could get around the Sim unlock and not displaying or allowing me to save any apn's. I just want my old phone back lol. Any help is appreciated.
Still nothing.

What made you think using a t mobile branded board would work with whatever carrier (whom you failed to mention) sim you posses? In any case the best advice i can give you is take the sim out which will get your past the sim unlock prompt temporarily for you to flash 4.1.1 and do the hidden menu sim unlock from THIS thread.

Because the boards both had SGH-I747 stamped on them. Figured the hardware was probably the same just different firmware. The phone started as an At&t branded phone on straight talk. I'll try flashing 4.1.1 if I can find a stock rom. Thanks.
On sammobile you will find the 4.1.1 firmware

Still trying. Phone's been down for a month now.
Since you replaced your board with a T999 board you have a T-Mobile s3 now pretty much. You're trying to flash att Tars and roms but you can't because your phone is no longer att its T-Mobile
Just my theory
DAT be the case, you need T999 firmware to flash, if you want just rooted stock firmware and you can always root stock with Android Kitchen and flash it

[Q] Galaxy S3: Need help Flashing AT&T Stock FW to Unlocked Roger's(Canadian) phone
I recently purchased an unlocked Roger's GS3 SGH-i747 from ebay to replace my broken AT&T phone. I installed my old sim into the new phone, and after manually updating the APN settings, the phone works fine. However, I have become somewhat used to the AT&T bloatware, and miss it, somewhat. Furthermore, the Roger's ROM has its share of bloatware as well, that being connected to an AT&T network, does me absolutely no good. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience changing official carrier ROM's. I was under the impression that it would be as easy as connecting the phone to Odin in download mode, and flashing the stock FW, as you would do if you were trying to unroot your phone. The Roger's FW is 4.1.2. I downloaded the stock AT&T .TAR file but only get this far in Odin...

I was thinking perhaps it had something to do with different .pit files. ANY ideas?
Tried flashing in Odin, but failed.
There has to be away to get away from Australian Firmware and onto something international that doesn't have the locked icons and manual gallery rotate......
Any ideas?

AFAIK there aren't any HW differences other than the T version has the 2100mah battery. :crying: I remember I got the Galaxy S3 on Aus vodafone and it was a GT-i9300T as well, and was fine with UK roms, etc.. Don't understand why the flash fail on this model

So by flashing CWM to get the "insecure kernel" and then using Odin to flash a i9195 UK (or other country) rom should work?

I'm wondering if the latest versions of the i9195 fw has Knox, the early release FW on my i9195T doesnt seem to have Knox. I might try flashing the UK BTU release FW and see if that works. Then I can OTA update from there..
Answering my own question, didn't work

Any ideas?

What exactly do you need the I9195 firmware for? Whether your homescreen docked icons are moveable or not(seems to was the main disadvantage for me)?

Yeah, I want to be able to change the home screen dock icons, as well as ditch the "manual" rotate photos in gallery.. Every other i9195 has these features, except the "special" T version...

You'll be able to change docked icons if had:
root access obtained (this solution works for my GT-I9195T perfectly)
this solution(post #12) performed, despite being found in the Galaxy S3 branch, works fine as well
There are some other hidden options in severeal .xml files near it.
What do you mean saying "manual"? I'm actually not using it, but thumbnails rotate if rotation is on, and they don't if not.
In general, try tweakers like Note 2 Hidden Settings, Wanam Xposed, or XBlast Tools (also at first you need to get root access & Xposed Installer for the last two).
Also, there is no seller in my country, that can definitely answer about what he is trying to sell — 9195 or 9195T model!
Any further progress on this, I want to flash on my irish networks csc, pda and modem onto the phone? But don't want to brick it, anyone know if this is possible? What are the differences?
Currently has:
Model: GT-I9195T
Country: Australia (Telstra)

Changelist: 1266356
PDA: I9195TDVUAMH1
CSC: I9195TTELAMH1

"manual" meaning if I'm in gallery and I turn the phone sideways to landscape, I have to tap the button onscreen to make the photo rotate to landscape as well. In other country roms, this happens automatically, but with Australian FW on all galaxy models since S3 you have to press a button on the screen to manually make the photo rotate....
I'm seriously puzzled as to why I can't just flash GTi9195 fw on this phone. I remember my S3 which was a "T" model, I could flash any country FW to it

Thats seriously terrible... There are no hardware differences aside from larger battery and battery cover... I'm a bit angry too as there have been no updates since release, and no intention to upgrade them to 4.4 either
There is a newer modem available, I9195TDVUBNB1 I moved to it recently and it has helped.
cheetah2k, new firmware — 4.4.2(CNH1). Finally :silly:

Hi, so after I updated to Kit Kat 4.4.2 on my S4 mini, my phone kept dropping my network (Canada - Bell mobility) randomly usually either ten or twenty minutes after I connect to it but sometimes right away. I've tried taking it in to Bell and I have had the SIM card replaced three times and I've factory reset it numerous times with the problem still occurring. I've been told by a cell phone recovery shop that I could try downgrading back to Jellybean. I've searched for a while and noticed some people have had success with this method -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53752825&postcount=620 so I decided to try it out myself. What jelly bean firmware did you try to flash...As I mentioned in the post :: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53752825&postcount=620 you must use BRAZIL UNBRANDED JELLYBEAN 4.2.2 UBUBNE2
Here is the sammobile link to that firmware page :: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=30561
Also wipe data, cache and flash the firmware. I downgrade thrice :: from Germany KK, from slovakian KK , Newzealand KK , and Belgium branded KK. Anyway Good luck.

I do not think you can downgrade further. Brazil UBUBNE2 has same bootloader as kitkat. While older jelly bean firmwares have 1st revision of knox and odin gives fail message when you try to downgrade from UBUBNE2 JB. I tried it only once and it failed, so fearing I might hard brick my phone I never tried that again. I need senior members to confirm what I said.
BTW can you remember the fail message on your phone when odin failed....??
Also I found brazil JB to be very stable and with f4k kernel I had great battery life.

When I had tried to flash the Brazil UBUBNE2 onto my phone, it gave me the error I posted in the original post. I am only trying to downgrade to it, not past. I re-downloaded the firmware from the link you supplied earlier, and when I tried flashing it onto my phone I received the same error as I posted at the beginning.
Could it be something that I'm doing wrong? I open up Odin, put my phone into download mode, plug my phone into my computer, place the firmware into the AP spot, then I press start, and after a little bit it displays the error. I am using Odin v3.09.

That is strange. You downloaded the proper firmware from link I gave you and also steps of flashing are correct.
Did you try to remove knox files from firmware??? Or flashed it untouched.
Actually many users did exactly what I did and successfully downgraded. Try one last time after wiping data and cache. Good luck. Also is your device I9195 or any variant of that like I9195L / I9195T. All the above procedure must be done on I9195 international S4 Mini LTE. Good luck.

I flashed it untouched, I don't know how to remove the knox files. My device's model number is SGH-1257M, so could that be the problem? Am I out of luck for being able to downgrade? If I can't downgrade do you know if there is a way for me to stop losing connection to my cell network, the initial problem I described, that is the reason I want to downgrade my phone.

THAT IS THE PROBLEM. As you can see the model number of your device is I257M. The firmware you flashed is meant for I9195 international S4 Mini LTE. The phone you have is carrier branded S4 Mini. Not the international one. Do not flash firmwares and ROMs meant for other model numbers. I cannot advise you on SGH-I257M as I have no idea how the kitkat is seeded to that device.

No mention. It is essential to learn from little mistakes.
Hello all,
I've been perusing through many threads on the XDA forum looking for how to solve a download problem on my SGH-i747m but haven't found it. Hopefully, one of you intelligent folks can help me.
Long story short, I screwed up the bootloader a while back which hard bricked the device. I originally recieved the phone in a soft bricked state from a buddy so I don't know many particulars about the Android version before I hard bricked it. I sent the phone for JTAG which allowed the the phone to boot to the Samsung screen. I'm not sure how the JTAG process works, but I assume it cleared everything except the bootloader. All I want to do now is restore the phone back to stock so it's usable.
The following is a summary of what I tried....Using Odin v3.07 and a stock firmware I747MVLUEMK5 I attempted to download the firmware into the device. Unfortunately, in the early stages, I get these errors
From Odin:
<ID:0/003> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/003> sbl3.mbn
<ID:0/003> aboot.mbn
<ID:0/003> FAIL! (Auth)
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
On the phone:
Warranty Bit: 1
Bootloader AP SWREV: 2
SW REV CHECK FAIL: Fused 2 > Binary 1
I tried re-rooting the device with CF-Auto-Root and then was able to flash CWM 6.0.4.7 to do a full wipe of everything. On my next attempt, I get the same errors.
You're trying to flash an older build than what is already there, which cannot be done. You can only flash the same or newer from now on.
Judging by the SW REV CHECK, you can flash builds ND2, NE6 or NF2. (Depending on your carrier, NF2 may not be available.)
Flash one of those and it should work.
Can you explain some detail about these build designations? I'm not familiar with those.
When I researched the stock firmwares for Telus, I discovered that the MK5 build (if "build" is the correct term) was the newest available. To my understanding..isn't 4.3 is the newest is gets for the i747m?
Go to http://sammobile.com/firmwares
The latest build is 4.4.2.
Youll have to sign up to download, but its free and as far as i can tell they dont spam your email or anything like that.
ND2 is a newer 4.3 build, and is what you are currently running. The others are 4.4.2
I just picked up an unlocked Snapdragon S9 and it immediately updated to Android 10, One UI 2.0, which is cool, but it's got a bunch of Sprint bloatware included that's just annoying. If it matters, I'm planning on using Google Fi but haven't activated it yet.
Is there a debloated version available anywhere?
Either debloat yourself or perhaps flashing xaa firmware (u to u1)

Interesting idea, going from U to U1 is a factory wipe, right? So this would be the time to do it before I start setting up my new phone. I might just check that out, thank you.

no factory wipre required at all man. When flashing there are 4 files that Odin needs, the firmware set supplies 5 files. 2 of them are CSC files. CSC and HOME_CSC. Flashing CSC will wipe it clean, flashing HOME_CSC wont wipe anything, itll just install the firmware behind the scenes and voila! You have a "unlocked" S9

Well skibidi do-da, that's good news. I don't recall where Id' read that it was no problem to flash a U1 on a U device, but that doing so would wipe your phone. Again, it's not an issue for me since I knew I was going to be putzing with the ROM anyway and haven't set anything up, but in the future, that's handy information.

yup. its absolutely possible. I flashed the U1 on my G960U with the HOME_CSC about 7 months ago, no issues since then. Also, no factory reset since i flashed that either. I was gonna flash the regular CSC this weekend, but i ended up replacing the front door windows in the younger kiddos sedan. LoL. It was a blast, i promis
Attempting to flash G960U1UES7DTB2_G960U1OYM7DTB2_XAA (using Home, not CSC) over G960USQU7DTA8 and ODIN is showing this:

You might want to hold off on flashing this update - it's causing weird problems on my T-Mo S9. I knew Samsung/Android was going to start going after how many apps need the Accessibility Service to work, but it seems like this update just took out a whole slew of my apps at their knees. I'm still researching...

So, I have my S9 (SM-G960U) - AT&T phone, I want to use it on my T-mobile account. This Odin process will unlock the sim option?? This is what I need if so.
And if this is the process, which thread will be the best to follow here?
Thanks,
Rita
