Best touchwiz rom? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I've tried several cm roms that I loved, but every single one gives me problems receiving texts and pictures. There's no way to update prl so I have no clue what to do other than switch to a tw rom, which seems to be a dying breed. Any recommendations for really good ones? In particular I want one that's at least 4.3.1 and has a nice kernel like ktoonsez. Thanks everybody

What device are you usin im using n7105 lte note 2 UK and im on tge new skynote 4.3 note 3 edition and works amazing they have kept the touchwiz

try them all, all are best, but only you can determine what is best for you.
As these threads get closed becasue they are subjective, and as XDA is not a support site, so goes this thread.

Best Roms?

hey guys im looking at rooting my note 2 for the first time I have some questions
What are some of the best roms for the note 2? (features, battery life, speed)
Are there any good 4.2 roms out yet, that are not really bug?
Do all the roms that work on the N7100 work on N7105 phones?
is rooting ur N7100 the same as the N7105?
thanks
All depends on what you are looking for. Myself unwanted stability so I'm using a stock rom with with xposed framework. It gives rom type features without the instability. Also I would be careful with the 4.2 camera I found that it doesn't take photos as fast as the stock camera. Again dependsbin what you are looking for.

No they don't you must stick with the N7105 roms and there are only a couple. Just upgraded myself tonight to stock and have just finished restoring everything back, very smooth so far with no issues to speak of.

They sort of work, you just won't have any mobile signal. Can't make/receive calls or texts, no mobile data etc.

ROM's are too subjective to what each individual person likes so you cannot say one ROM is better than the rest. What you think is the best ROM might be someone else's worst ROM.

There is never a "best" rom.
Flashing loads in a day gets you nowhere. Your not giving them a chance.
There is always a risk with flashing roms.

I was meaning that if the flashing is succesful..is there any risk of the flashing very often coz i never play with beta roms or tesing kernel if u kniw what i mean
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
You can flash 10 ROMs per day, I don't think there will be any problem. But frankly it's kiddish, and after using Android for almost 4 years now, I've no idea what people benefits from flashing nonsense on their phones.
Oh, for me, the best rom is stock for everyday use, never gotten into the craziness of custom ROMs, never will.
Sent from my GT-N7100
For me... STOCK is more than enough.. if you are Android Developer or something like that... you can choose from many ROMS out there
For me Omega rom is the best.:good:
Imao stock is enough in case of note2
The ones that support note 2 functions don't have much difference from stock rom.
The ones that do much difference don't have note 2 and spen functions.
I think mods are enough for me.
I use wanamlite anyway because it's deodexed and the only thing I wanted to change was multiwindow control and remove some bloatware and wanted latest update I.e. dll7
I would've been happy with stock rom if it
had been deodexed as there are some things that could have been better imao.

Compatible Custom roms Galaxy Note 2 LTE GT-N7105

I rooted my phone and found very few roms were available for my phone (UK Galaxy Note 2 LTE GT-N7105) I ventured over to AT&T Galaxy Note 2 Android Development forum to find more custom roms. After asking around found couple so far which I have tested myself as follows:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1986893 This is my favourite and developer is very helpful, highly recommended.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2114833 Works with TWRP and not CWM. Tried and tested by myself.

I'm too nervous to try AT&T roms on the HK phone. I bricked my Note 1 twice using wrong roms.
Not sure how reliable this is, but is says here that AT&T AND TMobile roms will work.
Anyone ready to try? From what I have read, the hardware is the same, it's just a couple things like the modem and kernel you have to remember about.
In fact, there is a ROM in the TMobile section that I am looking at right now, and the Dev says his ROM will work.... Read it here
I now use the RootBox ROM... Man its GREAT! haha i love the Tablet UI and customisation thats avaliable

What is with the HK Note II being treated differently?
I keep reading people saying that you can't flash the stock firmware to the Note II LTE if it's a HK one. Why not? it's still a GT-N7105.
What's different about it??
(I have one and want to know!)
i don't know, but my HK version is so picky about custom Roms. The only one that I can find so far that will run on it so far is Paranoid JB.
What happens when you try other ROMs?
And are you sure it's a N7105?
Sent from my GT-N7105 using Tapatalk 2
The phone flickers on the Samsung screen and then blacks and never finishes loading. I either have to reload stock or the Paranoid to use it.
But you have another N7105 that works fine?
Can you provide some more details, at the moment it's just another anecdotal "Doesn't work"

No. I just have one.

New note 2 help

My wife just got a new note 2 suggestions for rom and rooting methods . Please keep in mind that I'm looking for a4. 3 rom that's a daily driver with features and I was thinking just root and xposed but I wanted to hear from someone who has been there 1st. I myself have the 3 running x note via safestrap and battery life is amazing.
Not asking for the best rom or anything just asking for one that's alpha no issues meaning i just want to flash and be done with it since I will not be using the phone i don't want my wife constantly hacking about problems with the os.
touch wiz or Aosp

There are two good TouchWiz Roms, Ditto Note and SkyNote Air. I would read the first few posts in each thread and then the last few pages to get an idea of how easy each one is to set up, how often they are updated, etc. You will also learn a bit about the process so it is good from the start no matter which one you choose.
BTW, Jedi X2 is in the T-Mobile Note II forums. It is a good TW ROM and is multi-carrier, it just happens to be hosted over there. Good luck.

I'll add to that, Skynote Air vanilla.
Link here:

Is completely stock with no note 3 features included. Which means less room for problems in the vanilla version. Being it's based off of the MK6 ota update...

I would stick with a very stable 4.1.2 ROM since we know a lot about it.
I know for a fact vanilla edition 4.3 sky note is stable also. But we are still learning about 4.3..also with older 4.1.2 you don't have to flash the new bootloader or anything.
To each their own..start flashing and see what you like

[Q] Which ROM? Slimfast or ezKAT?

Having been on Jedi X18 for months now all the 4.3 and now kitkat TW ROMs are really new to me.
I guess my first question should be, is there any reason I would not want to go to 4.4 and should rather opt for 4.3?
Of the two 4.4 ROMs what are the basic differences between them? Which installs more simply on an AT&T i317 being used for Simple Mobile (T-Mo MVNO) still on 4.1.2? (I'd rather avoid Odin having no experience with it, but am under the impression the AGNI kernel would be enough...)
Thanks a lot for the feedback!

I'm sorry if the original title is misleading, but I'm not really asking which ROM is preferable, I'm just trying to gain information on the differences between them, as well as between the 4.3 ROMs (such as SkyNote & DN3) and them.
As I mentioned after spending a lot of time researching and installing the 4.1 ROMs such as Scot's and Jedi, I haven't really been keeping up with the newer trends, and even after going through about 30 pages so far am finding it a bit overwhelming.
The one basic piece of information I have been able to figure out so far, is that it seems like the 4.3 ROMs (at least until DN gets out of Beta for 4.4) are more full featured with Air Command, etc.

Is KitKat so much better than 4.3 that it's worth giving up all the custom add-ons (such as from Note 3 & S5) that are in the 4.3 ROMs like like SkyNote or DN3?

It's not that's it's so much better. It's improved to make the phone perform better. If you want a 4.4.2 from DN3 then»»»»»
GoHERE if you want those features. I'm using it with zero issues atm.
The link is under downloads section.. And on the Eteam website the Rom Dl is at the bottom enjoy...

There is no base code for 4.4.2 for the AT&T Note 2 yet. Since AT&T has not released the update yet. This means that both of these ROMs are built of the international build (N7105 I believe), so there are some bugs, and the kernels might not be perfect. It you want new features and a smoother faster experience i have used both and with the proper tweaking they are running great, but if you aren't comfortable with fixing issues and just want a stable daily driver without any hassle i would stick to stock or 4.3 ROMs.
If you don't use the Samsung/Touch wiz features on your phone and are itching to try something new there are a bunch of really good stable 4.4.2 AOSP ROMs out there.

Jedi, Slimfast, Beanstalk, DN3V5.2, ezkat?
I don't know how many of you have been trying all of the ROMs.
I have been trying on all of them including DN3V5 and ezkat.
One of things that I'm sure of that Jedi x20 works all the time. That is a reliable ROM for sgh-i317.
DN3V5 and ezkat come next. They are full of features with one single problem that I keep erasing these ROMs. Their data connection through gsm or other modes keep dropping. I have not been able to solve that problems yet. If I do, DN3V5 would come on the top.
For those of you who have S4, Beanstalk is a superior ROM. That's my opinion. I give my opinion on practical matter. If it works, it is good. Otherwise, it may be marginal or not good.
exkat gave me some headache at the beginning until I got it to work. One needs a little bit of work to make it work. Well, I would say the same to DN3V5.
Finally, I have not given up on DN3V5 and ezkat yet. There must be a solution somewhere. There must be.
