Unlock code from T-Mobile not working - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I got an unlock code from T-Mobile and tried it on my s2. rooted, stock Rom, 4.1.2. I tried to use the unlock code they provided with an inactive SIM from straight talk, does the foreign SIM have to be active in order to unlock? I tried*#7465625# but got an error that says unable to process request. thanks for any help.

Check this thread for unlocking info, many have used it for free unlock, if you can't get your code to work, you could just go back to stock 4..0.3 rom (flashed in odin) and the radio info (flashed in recovery), direct link to radio download here.

there is a sim unlocker floating around here somewhere.
I believe you must be on the T-Mobile ROM in order to get the Foreign SIM dialogue. Flash back to the T-Mobile ROM and try again, then flash back to your desired ROM once you're unlocked. Otherwise, you can use the OliNex SIM unlocker

I meant that you need to insert the SIM while your Rhodium is using the T-Mobile ROM, not to flash the T-Mobile ROM and then immediately flash to another ROM and try again. But anyway, here's a link to the unlocker, and instructions on how to obtain it from Olipro.

[Q] Please Read, need help unlocking n900T

Ok, so I purchased a used tmobile n900T which is no longer on a subscription. I want to put this phone on straight talk, this is what I have done so far:
1: Rooted using towel root
Attempted to unlock using the method explained here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2471742
I did everything exactly as explained in the directions, but when I boot up using the AT&T Straight talk card, it asks me for a sim unlock code....
I went to one of the sim unlock websites: cellunlocker.net and the instructions told me I had to have the note 3 on a tmobile plan before I can get the unlock code?
any suggestions? thank you for your help.
Has anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions on what to do?

As far as I know you do not need to be on a T-Mobile plan to get your phone unlocked. You just need the unlock code.
Is your phone region locked? If you have made a 5 min call using T-Mobile then it will be region unlocked. You just need a network unlock code.
PS: I am a professional unlocker. You can see my website on my profile page or I can PM you if you need.

Unlock Code

I recently purchased an unlock code from a company online. I finally received my code tonight but I'm unsure how to go about using it to unlock the device. The Device Unlock application wouldn't allow me to enter anything, so I dialed #7465625*638*# and entered the code that way. I followed a few trouble shooting techniques but it still won't work on AT&T. Does anyone have any experience with this using this device? If so, I'd love to hear what to do.
Try flashing a different Rom from another carrier through recovery. Maybe the AT&T rom. I simply put a tmobile sim in the phone and it successfully my phone through the application.

Youre saying to flash the stock rom from AT&T? Have you done this? What do you mean you put a TMobile SIM in and it unlocked it..
1. Did you have a TMobile S6?
2. Did you flash an ATT rom to it? Custom recovery or stock?
3. Did you use a code?

Device sim unlock issue

So I did ths hole unlock process from AT&T and got a SIM unlock code but when I put it on my phone I get a error saying incorrect password I called AT&T and they told me to do the process over again I'm curious if this is because I'm running a non stock rom than the AT&T Rom I'm currently using Viper. Any ideas?
Your curiosity is correct .. only the original stock ROM you can do SIM unlock.

Need help network unlocking, flashed to stock

I got a new phone, the LM-G820UM AT&T version. I followed this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/tutorial-crossflash-bypass-opid-mismatched-error.4345963/ to flash the stock firmware. With my SIM card in it says "network locked", it doesn't prompt for the unlock code. I have the unlock code and I've tried the various unlock commands (2945#*71001# and 2945#*20001#), but nothing comes up when I do these. Do I need to get it back to the AT&T firmware to be able to unlock it? If so, how can I do this?

wow, yeah, that's unfortunate. First, yes, it's the at&t firmware that the unlock code works with, not any other firmware.
second, at&t doesn't make their kdz available, so you have no easy way to get back to their firmware.
you might get lucky and find someone who has backed up all their partitions from at&t. Then u would flash ea one back via qfil.
Important lesson: don't buy a locked phone. if u get a locked phone, don't to anything to the firmware until u unlock the phone.
cheers
@AsItLies would this phone work in it's current state with AT&T?

To the best of my knowledge, no. At&t is one of the carriers that has restrictions for their networks. Last I read (have never used them personally), they only allow phones that have their IMEI (they check that), and it's using their ROM, to access volte and vowifi.
so, would it work? yes and no. Volte and Vowifi may or may not be important to you.
Additionally, I'm absolutely no expert with at&t, so u might just try and find out, my info could be outdated.
