Hi ,
as title states i am looking for a CWM touchable recovery for the t217A , please link me if its an easy find i have looked and only things i have found so far are not for my tablet. IF there is not touch recovery version ill deal with a regular CWM recovery , please show me the way thanks in advance!
I am looking for this also. Either touch or otherwise. I've noticed the t217s thread.. But I've noticed also... That no one has she'd any light for us at the users. Lol I'd really like to see development here for this specific one. I miss the days where almost every model was the same x3

The T217A has a locked bootloader, that's why there is no development for it (and probably never will be).

i read somewhere here that this device is closestly related to the s iii mini correct ? please correct me if my memory has holes i read fast and did not think that was important at the time. i have compared the chipset of the msm8960 and gpu on wikipedia to try to find other devices with the same CPU GPU combo so that i might troll their section of the forums here and see if any boot loader unlocks or by pass's were found for devices with similar make and model. if i can find a similar device i can inquiry about the attack used and then check if that attack is potential for this device,
my bandwidth is very limited , but my processing power is beyond most of yours , i have 5 blade servers at my disposal , and never any work to do , so working on this can pass some time .. lol
You mentioned earlier in another post also that this device is not msm8960 and rather an msm8930 , can you please explain this to me ? as to why ? why is cpuz reporting msm8960 instead of msm8930 if in fact this devices is msm8930 ?
also another though , i see that this chipset T217A now thanks to your info is potentially locked bootloader. this devices feels like nothing more than a beefed up S4 to me , im thinking could it be possible to use their attacks from same similar chipsets to unlock ?
if all you have for answers is no , then please dont be upset when i do not listen ...
it appears that the chips in this devices are the same as the Samsung galaxy Mega and S4 mini , i am hoping development in their area can lead to a positive for this device also , hopefully the same methods can be used from their if one exsists at all
Nah im just hoping for safestrap or something im kinda getting sick of seeing the locked bootloader on att s4. mf3 and att tab3 its like seriously now

Yea i agree locked by At&t is pissing me off too i got a note 3 and sgs 3 and tab 3 7.0 through att and i cant do what i want , i know why they dont want me to , cause my sgs 3 is totally mine , they cant monitor my useage and see if im tethering anymore , which of course i am , running cm they no longer can tell that im tethering to all my other devices and they no longer have control ,
i will google more and read more but i have alot going on right now , my son takes up alot of my time , ive built the sdk and started looking at the tab but i dont know much right now ,
i did find kingo one click root worked , without breaking the lock , it reboots just fine , i did have issues when after rooting i had to forcefully update root , through the store , but it worked and the counter is not tripped.
my note 3 its tripped , im looking forward to the unlocking of these devices so i can remove that stuipd lock and replace with custom boot logo
Right^ I went to the at&t store yesterday because the s4 wont show up on my computer when I connect it.. and if it does, I try making a new folder on my sd card and my computer force closes. Lmao the tab 3 7.0 I wish had some developement of somesort, but not being able to do crap kinda makes my phone and tabs no longer really fun anymore. Almost makes me want to craigslist lolz...

Saferoot works fine. No knox trip too.
Kingo worked perfectly.
When I received my tablet, it was already updated with the OTA for KitKat. Now when I go to Kingo root, it doesnt recognize the device. It only goes up to 4.2.2 .. Since kingo is now out of the question, is there an option for me available that I can root my device? CWM/TWRP/ some other method. I really really want my root access.
Yes, I am on AT&T and my device is the T217A running 4.4.2 Kitkat

First, I know nothing about this method/ program so please do your research and it may be nothing.....
I have been looking for a fix for my bricked T217A on 4.4.2 and stumbled on a tweet saying the T217A on 4.4.2 was now supported for SRSroot. Again I didn't look any further in to it than that. Never heard of SRSroot myself.

Hi
I have search the forum for this and google. I am a bit stumped
I have attached 2 images, one a screenshot of my Note 2 device info and the other of the Samsung Galaxy note 2 toolkit 2.3.1 (donation activated).
Basically Im confused on what my phone is. According to the device info its a GT-N7100 Build N7100XXALIJ but the baseband is N7100XXALIH
When I look on the toolkit to chose what my phone model and build are it says that the N7100XXALIJ build is model GT-N7100.
I am assuming that as I am on o2 UK that I am a GSM model and not a LTE but what option should I select.
Im not currently interested in stock roms, I do plan later to but I am worried about my flash counter, I am primarily looking just for root.
I thank you for reading this.
all of the version, baseband, etc... shows begin with "7100"
why would u ever doubt yr phone is 7105?
because in the device info it says model n7100
also I didnt think o2 woukd be lte ?

I don't understand where the confusion is coming from. All signs point to you having an n7100. No where in your screenshots is there any indication that it could be an n7105.

Okay. I see what the OP was trying to get at. His N7100 had the LIJ build installed and was trying to use his phone with the Note II toolkit. And when the toolkit asked him what phone and build he was using, the option for an N7100 with LIJ wasn't there. However, the option for an N7105 with LIJ was there.... hense, confusion.
So, for future reference OP, if another device has a build of Android with the same number as yours, that doesn't mean it's the same build as yours or that you actually have that device instead of what you originally thought you had. You do in fact have an N7100 with LIJ. Welcome to the Android community and sorry for the "FAIL". Enjoy your Note II!

I know the G2 is a old phone , but I decided to get one anyway. I alwatay a generation behind in phones it per and since Im prepaid , I think it makes more sense.
Anyway I have been looking a few youtube videos and some of the old threads on here. Please dont blast me too bad, but I was wondering if I should root my phone since it is already unlocked?
Here are the phone stats
Android Version
2.3.4
Baseband version
12.62.60.27U_26.13.04.19_M
Kernel version
2.6.35.10-g96de068
[email protected]#1
Build Number
2.16.531.5CL159515 release-keys
Now the last phone I rooted and played around with was a Kiaser a few years ago. That was wayyyyyy easier than these new threads. So my noobie questions are this
1. should I try to root a phone already unlocked?
2. how can I root a phone? What I mean is most of the stuff in the old threads aren't avaliable is some places anymore
3. is there a thread I can start at on how to do the procedure?
would appreciate any help

yes you should root it asap.
If you have a bad emmc chip, it wont boot when it'll fail.
If you are rooted, you could run the os on the sd.

We need to unlock the bootloader first, a few of us have been working on this in one of the other threads, so far I got mine sim unlocked, ATT said that would also unlock the bootloader, but it didn't, need to call them again and press the issue.
Are there any devs actively pursuing the 217? I'm not qualified to help too much, but if there is something I can do to help I'm in.

No roms, no recovery. The t217a has a locked bootloader. Until it gets unlocked, we are out of luck. With that being said, there are options like xposed framework that will allow you to customize your stock firmware.

Does xposed framework offer the ability to enable voice calling and text messaging using the MBM??
The t217a has same internal MBM h/w as the International model, (t215) but the T215 supports different LTE bands (Singapore, India, etc)
In a nutshell, since the T217a's MBM is factory flashed to use AT&T's LTE bands for data, and since there is a large segment of users who also want to utilize (enable) the carrier disabled voice and text messaging features of the MBM I am hoping xposed framework might offer the ability to change the options/ features of the internal MBM to enable voice calling and text messaging without a complete rom reflash.
Reflashing the T217A with the rom for a t215 will also flash the MBM to utilize the LTE bands for India, and Singapore making the device unusable for LTE data on AT&T's data network. True the addition of voice calling would be a plus, but if I want to have voice calling and non LTE data speeds, I could just go out and find a T215 on eBay. that's not the answer I'm looking for here.
Thanks,
TTB
Recovery for T217S now available, but not for T217A yet
Recovery for T217S now available, but not for T217A yet
Apparently the T217S doesn't have a locked bootloader like the T217A does. A recovery has been created.
Hope someone is able to get past the locked bootloader on a T217A soon.
Also waiting for someone to chime in on voice calling, can it be enabled for these devices and how?
T217S and T217A are the same HW as the T215 (international version) which does allow voice calling but the T215 is flashed to use LTE bands for Singapore and India, which are different than the LTE bands AT&T uses.

Hello,
I just ordered a galaxy tab 3 LITE 7.0. I havent' even got it yet and I'm eager to root it. Are any of the root instructions/roms/recoveries applicable to this model? I know it's supposed to be the same processor (I think Marvell PXA986) as the 'regular' tab 3. I've only rooted one tab previously. A Pipo S1 (rk3066) that took forever, but worked great when I figured it out.
To rephrase my question, does anyone have info specific to the tab LITE?
Thank you
Steven
There is no root method and cwm recovery

People seem to be having problems getting into download mode, but not beyond that

I have one-SIM version. Internal memory 8 GB, System reserved 2,8 GB, free 5,2 GB; I have installed 40 programs (none big games) - now free space: 3,9 GB (memory is for data). Useful. Processor & RAM: I am satisfied with the performance for normal work.
Updates please mods? Can you find a solution for us?
no solution?
I may know someone who has the solution
Hello,
I have an Asus FonePad 7 (ME175CG, K00Z) Dual SIM Version
Android Version 4.3
Build Number JSS15Q.WW_FonePad-V3.5.2-20140325020154_201312130003
(just so you know the "JSS15Q" is the build number for the Android 4.3 Jellybean release)
As you can see I have the WW or World Wide version and the OP has the TW or Taiwanese (?) version. Either way someone has already rooted devices for both device versions but not necessarily for our newer device.
I'll cut to the chase and say that "botto00", who is also a member of this forum has rooted the (FonePad ME371MG,K004) by getting the RAW image from the ASUS website and preloading the su binaries, busybox and SuperUser apk (stuff that gives superuser permissions) which basically gives you root access. Then the "prerooted" raw image would be installed using "droid bot" which can be accessed by using VOL_UP+POWER.
The latest firmware (RAW image) for our device can be found on the ASUS site here: www(DOT)asus(DOT)com/Tablets_Mobile/ASUS_Fonepad_7_Dual_SIM_ME175CG/HelpDesk_Download/
Change "(DOT)" to actual "."
Select "Android" on the drop down and expand firmware. All that needs to be done after that is to do what botto00 did and preload the stuff that gives us root access then we're good to go.
So without further ado, Hi @botto00 we need your help. Thank you.

Yes, that could be a solution. I have a Fonepad ME175CG too, but it's single-sim (yes, I sure for the reference number). It's a little strange, isn't it ? We could make a petition to force Asus to unlock bootloader. If we can unlock the bootloader in the future, I will make a custom ROM
Thanks for your answer!
