I am currently using a rooted ZTE N9500 as my main phone and i wish to upgrade my OS form android 4.0.4 to 4.1 i get system updates about once a week but whenever i try to install them they find an error with my browser.apk and fail. At some point of stupidity i deleted my stock browser and even though i re-installed a 4.0.4 browser i still cant update. Can anyone tell me what i can do to get past 4.0.4? Im even willing to look into a Cyanogenmod if that would be a good alternative.
I can give you all the apps for this phone and there is now a cam and stock rooted b14 and b18 for this phone what is the update number?

Im not sure what the update number is but if you could send me the apps and the links for the b14 and b18 that would be greatly appreciated. Im a bit new to all of this phone stuff so im not quite sure what to look for to find the update number.
Also if its relevant, the update link has gone and only comes around once a week now, i attempted to update it using titanium backup and a copy os the ASOP browser apk that i changed to a system app but it still didnt work so if you can send me that stuff it would be amazing. :good: :fingers-crossed:
Well b18 is the newest if you go into your settings you can see what number software you have but I will sent you a link as soon as I get on my pc

Sorry for the necroposting, but is there any news on 4.1 this phone? I'm looking for a ROM for a ZTE V9800 which has similar hardware.
Related
So a lot of mods require deodexed roms.. such as the mod for allowing any app to be split screen.
I'm currently running rooted stock 4.1.1.
I really can't be ****ed reinstalling hundreds of apps and copying everything back on. I suppose I could do a carbon backup or Titanium backup but that's still a ridiculous amount of effort.
Is there any other way to make the phone deodexed? Or any other ideas?
If I'm going to flash a rom should I install something like CM10.1 or something?
I don't want to lose any features like S-pen support or anything though.
So what do you guys think?
multiwindow and many other tweaks available for odexed too
read xposed framwork
as well
simplistic frammework
though you need to make deodexed, Titanium is easiest and best choice for appl backup.
I wasn't sure which one to use for my phone, I commented and no one replied to what I said.
"AP: N7100XXALJ3
CP: N7100XXALJ2
CSC: N7100OJVALJ2
Which download do I use? Or will none of them work on mine? Rooted with stock ROM.
New to this sorry. "
For simplistic framework.
Xposed will work on your rom
Simplistic available for certain rom
Btw your rom is too old and vulnerable to exynos and sds bug, recommend to update latest rom (2013 released ) asap.

Um, I'm in Australia but my phone was a grey import, it's completely unlocked, no carrier or anything, I bought it outright.
And I used the Exynos bug to root my phonehaha

To update the profile, you must revert back to a Touchwiz based ROM and then do it normally, followed by going back to AOSP. You can do the same with a PRL, however, if you're wanting to manually flash a PRL, you can do so with a computer. Search something like "AOSP PRL update" or anything along those lines.

Please help me with this question?
I have Stock ROM with android 4.1.2 and root with this.
However, today issued an update of 60MB. I can install the update or if I do, I lose root?
Wouldnt 60mb be a bit too small for 4.3? So probably you could still root it afrerward with the same method as 4.1.2. Hope I get this soon too, although had been no rumours of more updates before 4.3, strange.

I think you will need to root it and such install a custom recovery so that you can flash that older version. Check this thread for rooting info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956180
Make sure you actually read the instructions. Not reading everything fully means bricking your device. As for getting your MSL... Here's an app that might work, if it doesn't watch the YouTube video and see if that helps.
App: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.patternedsoftware.getmymsl&hl=en

You will never be able to go to stock 4.2 not matter what you do. We have 4.1.2, 4.3, and 4.4.2 stock roms only. Like stated above root, flash recovery then the rom you want.

Tryin to revert everything downwards is where semi bricks are coming from. It is really not needed and not for normal users to try and do.

Dear reader,
I have used cyanogemod for a while now and have come to the conclusion that i would rather go back to the stock rom from Sony with a locked bootloader. (but still rooted)
Since it has been a while ago since a flashed my custom rom i am not exactly sure on how to return to the stock rom and restore the TA partition so that the bootloader is locked again.
Can anyone please help me find a good tutorial on how to reset these settings?
I have entered Clockworkmod and tried to restore a backup from my SDcard which had been made before i started flashing. Now my mobile phone won't turn on. (only showing Sony logo.)
I am now downloading the stockrom so that i can flash my mobile phone with the stock rom. Will that do the trick or will my bootloader still be unlocked. I am not sure on how the restore the TA partition
Any help would be appreciated!
Kind Regards,
Jeroen

I tried de Cyanogenmod because my wife has it on her One plus One. Because we regularly use each others phone i thought it would be easy for us to have the same interface. turns out the camera amoungst other things wasn't very stable on my phone so i decided to return to stock rom.
