[Q] Why can't I find this answer about root - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

I want to Root my wife's Sprint Note 2. I recently updated her phone to 4.3 through KIES. I have been searching for about an hour now and I don't see the best way to root this phone. I have read up on the Kingoroot and Chainfire methods. Neither one are very specific on if they work with the 4.3 update.
I really don't care at all about tripping the Knox counter, I just want the phone to be rooted with custom recovery. I am sure the answers are there, I just don't think I am using the right terminology to find my answers.

Kingoroot works fine. I along with many others have used it. For custom recovery just use odin to flash what you want. There is a guide on what knox files you should remove. Louforgivenot is the op of it. It is either in general or q&a

Thank you for the info...I had a feeling that was the way to go! One more quick question, can I flash a 4.1.2 rom after rooting?

You dont need to even root to flash a rom just odin the recovery. Bootloader and baseband/radio from mk4 work with all roms i have tried touchwiz and aosp.
FYI DONT ROOT 4.3 IN RECOVERY.

How can I update my phone using Odin?

Hey there, I have a rooted S3 (rooted with Snapdragon toolkit) and I have not updated my phone since I've gotten it. Is there a way for me to update my phone using Odin without having to unroot my phone first? If so, where can I download the updates for the Wind Mobile version of the S3? Also, If I update my phone using Odin, will it wipe all data from the phone?
Thanks for any help.
Go here, download the root66 jellybean rom for you carrier and flash it with desktop Odin. You will keep root, apps, settings, everything. These have superSU, yours probably has superuser so you will end up with both. Just open superSU, it will ask you to update the binary and it will take over. Then you can just disable or install superuser if you wish.

That tells me you did not read the thread at all, root66 by mrRobinson rooms are fully stock Samsung firmware with only one modification, root injected on it, so you don't have to do it yourself, and you don't trip the counter in the process of rooting it either.

You're right, after I saw the word 'rom' I thought you were talking about a completely different rom and didn't bother to check. Thanks, I will definitely check this out.

[Q] best way to root tmobile note 2 sgh-t889

I just got a note 2 and I would like to know what's the best way to root my device without any problems?
If you just got it then I'm going to assume you don't have any important data!
Flash a stock rom with root injected! It's literally a stock touchwiz 4.1.2 rom with superSU. It always doesn't mess up your counter and you can get official OTAs from T-mobile.
The link is here.
What ungraph said. I ran mrRobinson's injected rom for about 7 months before I ended up on tweaked. It works pretty well.
Hastily spouted for your befuddlement

Thanks, silly question. My service provider is Metro PCS even though this is a tmobile phone, will that have any interference with the root?
So no one used Galaxy Note2 TOOLKIT V4.1.0 to root their android? I used this to root my S3.

Be sure to read all step and choose the good option for your phone. I choose recommend options except for the recovery I choose the cwm instead of twrp.

I just found an app that supposedly will ROOT any Android phone. It is called KINGO Android Root.
FYI - Just completed my Root and it took ~ 3 minutes. I know it is rooted since I can now use Titanium Backup Pro.

Sarge, are you sure about that? CF Autoroot installs a 4.1 recovery. Isn't having a non-stock recovery causing OTA updates to fail?
You can revert to stock recovery after you have rooted though.
When you get the OTA update you can (supposedly) use CF Root again to root the 4.3.
Yes Ranger ....sorry...
If you've got 4.3 then CF will give you the 4.1 3e recovery...and of course the step will fail....
If you are on the ATT version of the device with the 4.1.2 original rom then it will work..
The threads are getting mixed heavily with 4.3 official rom questions ...which we obviously don't have ....and this old guy gets them confused....
However ...
Since CF is modified for use with different carriers ...
Chainfire may have updated files for the 4.3+ users ...
I don't use them ...but it's worth a look ....g

Keep stock recovery.

Hello i would like to root my s4 mini, but i want to keep everything stock. Including the recovery. Is this possible? Thanks

There are no root methods I know of that automagically install CWM or any other custom recovery. If all you do is root, all you'll have is root.
Also, in the future, if you post a topic in the Q&A forum and either don't get a response or don't get the response you want, you should refrain from reposting it in another forum.

This one does not involve flashing any custom recovery prior to rooting:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2611971
Some developers have also released some pre-rooted roms which do not need to modify the stock recovery..
You may spend some time searching for different methods.

Use the CWM method and after the phone is rooted, you can install back the stock recovery.
Attached. Unzip and flash in Odin as PDA/AP.

New to Note4, want to root.

I'm sure you're tired of these noobie questions but...
I'm stock MM, is there an easy way to root? Do I need to wipe? I don't need a custom ROM at this time.
I've rooted and installed custom recoveries on previous phones but I'm not sure how Odin works.
Is there an up to date guide for this that will work with MM?
Thanks all.

I'll just tell you what tools you need to do root for MM.and about how to do, use Google to find out how to do that.
You need chainfire Auto-Root for sprint galaxy note 4 to flash it from odin.
Of course download odin and your phone drivers.
If you want custom recovery use twrp.
If you want how to use these tools Google is your friend.
