Root Galaxy s4 / Note 3 DOESN'T TRIP KNOX! - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

Sorry if this is known already but it took me awhile to find.
makes system custom (so OTA update says modified) but does NOT trip the knox counter!!

i can confirm that this DOES work on M919 after updating to MK2 OTA

4.3 the way to achieve it :D

Hey guyz
I have a rooted note2 with 4.1.2 android, now I wana upgrade the rom to 4.3
So my question is .. can I use the method which makes device status normal and I can download the 4.3 android officially ??
"dr. Ketan has that in his main post... how to change status without wipe"
Or I should try some other method..

Well I already went ahead and did the upgrade 4.3 dn3 version
Working good so far .... but I think features like smart stay and smart pause not working....
Also It got most of the note3 features which m happy about
There been some post where for note2 you will get 4.3 version android but it will b without note3 features..... to get note3 features you can use "note3 experience" app available on play store .. havent tried that since I got my custom rom running already and I came to know about it later
3 days already and rom running good

Bluetooth 4.0 (LE)
The main reason for me to expect 4.3 is the bluetooth LE (4.0).
Any other way to get this ?
GH
Smart scroll and smart pause also working on dn3 version 2
Flash it and you will never go back... awesome

Bro..just download the prerooted MI6 firmware for JB 4.3,it wont raise your binary counter and your phone's status will remain official. It also doesn't contain the KNOX enabled bootloader.
Or you can also download MJ5 version firmware. It does contain KNOX enabled bootloader but you can roll back to old bootloader after following dr. ketan's instructions in one of his threads.
Both these firmwares wont increase your binary counter and will keep it official.
Also group play is nice
There is a way now in application managerr where you can move apps from device to sd directly.. and so its pretty nice :thumbup:

Will Samsung ever release 4.3 to Note 2 GSM in Europe?

Because I have no clue... :silly:
Flash another country's 4.3 stock rom via odin... and when your country gets the update, you can flash your country's stock rom from odin and it will not trigger your knox counter

just wait mate..no need to open a thread for asking this ridiculous question.

Question about 4.3

Ok I have been running slimkat for a bit and im interested in trying out tw 4.3. I just reset my phone completely back to stock and am starting fresh. Do i need to be on the 4.3 bootloader to use a 4.3 tw rom? Will i still be able to flash a 4.4 aosp rom if i am on the 4.3 bootloader? Are there any drawbacks to being on the 4.3 bootloader? I am currently on the mc3 bootloader.
Edit: I just got an update notice to update from 4.1.1 tw to something? What is it updating to and should i do it?
MH3 is a 4.1.2 version..
If you are seeing an update beyond that ...I have no clue what it might be...
Size of file ???

The UCAMH3 update is 185.14 meg.
If you are seeing a 300+ meg update...I do not know what it is ..
Are you ATT ?
If not...it could be your 4.3 official update...and I suppose if you are on ATT network...an update is possible...
Be warned...a 4.3 update will include a locked bootloader and Knox security patches...
Your call....g

Yes i am att. I just flashed the new beanstalk build. what is knox? and can the bootloader be unlocked
Knox is the newest Samsung corporate security software...and it's a royal pain to get around..
The bootloader has to be changed in order for root level actions to be taken...
Honestly...I'm running beanstalk as well...and have no interest in ATT locking my device with an update...
Beanstalk is excellent...and I'm keeping it...
Carbon rom is coming soon also...and will be great as well ...
I wouldn't take that update...until the devs clean it up....g

Alright thanks. Hey do you have a problem with the wallpaper changing zoom and alignment on 4.4 roms?
Not that I've noticed. ..
But considering the fact that 4.4 is a work in progress. ..we are sure to see bugs in the builds...g

[Possibility][new method] Root without tripping knox

So the s5 community got root the other day and the Dev says that it should work on other phones with kernels before June 3 2014 his Knox status also reads 0x0 so I guess his warranty is still in tact..... So anyone wanna try this on our phone and see if it passes through http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2783157

I could be wrong, but I remember reading some S3 users stating it didn't work. It does work on the ATT S4 but ONLY on the NEWEST NC1 firmware update that came out (4.4.2) but did NOT work on the previous NB1 firmware (also 4.4.2).
It is worth a try as it will NOT brick your phone. If it doesn't work it will just let you know it is not rooted.

But you see the problem is the Knox flag I'm still in warranty for a whole year and I don't want to lose it because of root

P. S pac man rom is awesome, but just been on custom roms for a while now and want basic stock back...
Also is rooting an issue with stock kitkat of samsung? Coz if it is, then i might think twice, tho as far as I've read its only the knox counter tripping and i dont care about that
