[CM7] mod screen brightness - improve battery life

Thanks to this thread: click!, I've played a bit with the brightness settings.
You first need to enable automatic brightness. If not, your settings will only effect the touch buttons.
Then you go to cyanogenmod settings - display - automatic backlight - edit other levels.
Picture below is just a test, don't now if these are the best settings. Need to test it further. I can say 1024 is the highest for light sensor, tested under my desk lamp. If you don't need lighted touch buttons, set right column all to zero.
What I can say, the screen is the greatest user of battery, so tweaking these settings to optimal numbers will possibly help.

Do you use brightness levels shown in Guide for Desire?

Umm, I don't understand what to do here. Sorry I ain't that good with all this

I use my own values, based on testing. Light sensor is different on desire.
Edit values by clicking on it, after you changed all, press right top button.
Before modding values, hit button at bottom and enter 6.

SecureOTP on Zenfone 2

As the title implies, I cannot get the app SecureOTP to run on the phone properly. It gives some message, but it's in Japanese. Unfortunately I need the app in order to play Phantasy Star Online 2. Someone in a review stated they got it working via a setting, but I am unaware of what it is. Anyone got the tech skills to try and wrangle the bug?

I registered because I faced the same problem. It's pretty easy, just go to settings -> ASUS customized settings -> Recent apps key. Now choose the value for Recent apps key as "Tap and hold to show menu". As the name implies it let's you open up a menu when holding down the right capacitive button on the zenfone 2. After this you can revert back to the old settings for this button since SecureOTP does not need you to fiddle around with its menu anymore.
Truth to be told I did not come up with this and had struggled for days and the only clue I got was your post and the review on playstore which you mentioned. I figured zenfone 2 must have its own way to open up menus so I dug around the settings. But yes, SecureOTP has finnicky problems with its menu button which vary between phones and it even happens on emulators like bluestack.

Use of macros to launch actions through Contacts (by call)

The main idea is to call a fake contact which triggers the previously configurated actions.
Steps to configure it:
1- Create the contact
2- Add it to favorites from Huawei Health
3- Create the action
(I used MacroDroid, in this case the Trigger is Dialing the phone number and the action is Plugin Locale / Tasker> Yeelight
4- I am still watching how to automatically hang up the call

We will have up to 10 contacts (10 actions, in principle) assigned to invented numbers.
For those who have enough smart devices at home, this is surely good news. You spend less time, you don't have to go and get the phone, and also you feel that your GT 2 is a little less limited.
Let's hope Huawei integrates a keyboard, note manager (text and voice), besides the ability to answer messages or interact with notifications.
In the meantime, I think this method can play a good role.

Controlling LEDs using /sys/class/leds commands [Root]

Has anyone managed to control the main LED on the S9 Snapdragon (G9600) via shell commands to modify the file at /sys/class/leds/led_g/brightness?
I'm able to control the Torch using this method, but the brightness file seems to be locked (not allowing modifications or reverting back to value of 0). Lightflow is able to control it using root, so I'm sure it can be done, just not sure what commands need to be fired to allow the brightness values to be modified ... any help would be super welcome. thanks!
EDIT: Found the solution. Using /sys/devices/virtual/sec/led/led_x works

Hi can you help me out? Iam also facing a similar problem. i can access the sys/class/leds/button-backlight and can change the brightness of the variable to "170", the thing is the variable's value is changin, but the LED is not glowing! ,i tried "1" and it has the same response. Lemme post a screenshot indicating my situation here!
