Hello, I'm having some trouble with my Sony Xperia Arc S.
I downloaded the Xperia Ultimate HD 5.0.1 and I had the 5.0 before. I basically booted phone into recovery mode and installed the ROM, but in the end I didn't untick the reboot option so I ended up rebooting my phone accidentally. Now I'm stuck at the Sony Logo, without being able to do anything else. And apparently my phone won't even be recognized by my computer. Flashtool doesn't seem to be recognizing it either..
I skipped two steps, the Dalvik Cache wiping as well as the cache partition because I forgot to untick the Reboot option..
I'm clueless about what can I even do with my phone like this. Any suggestions?
Locked or unlocked bootloader? Stock or custom kernel? Can you access Recovery?
The only way your PC can detect the phone in this case, is if you put the phone into flashmode.

Sorry, I got locked bootloader and stock kernel.
Cannot access Recovery but phone seems to be detected by flash tool after all.

Use Flashtool to repair your phone first, after which you can root, install XParts, access the recovery and flash UHD.

Hi, i recently upgraded my xperia arc lt15i to the new ics software, all went well and everything working fine so i decided to root the phone which i managed to do with no problems. Being the tinkerer that i am i decided to move some files from my phone memory to sd card. Bad idea! My phone locked up and is now stuck in boot loop. I tried to flash the ics firmware but cannot do it because i need to turn on usb debugging which obviously i can't do. Is there anyway i can resolve this? The annoying thing is that i can see the files i moved on my sd card when plugged into my laptop if only i could transfer them back to phone memory all would be good. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks Phil
Use aroma file manager from the android dev forums. It'll let you move files in recovery.

Aroma File manager can be found in the Android themes and apps section (not in Arc themes and apps) i think so..
To boot into recovery press the volume down button while Sony Ericsson logo (name) is shown
Sent from my LT15i using XDA
Ok, so i've found the aroma file and copied it to sd card. Now I can't seem to get my phone into recovery mode. Also how will i know my phone is in recovery???
You'll need a kernel that has cwm to get into recovery...
So flash a new kernel on and then press volume down on boot screen to get into recovery. Though this means you'll have to unlock your boot loader
I tried flashing new software to my phone but it wouldn't have it because usb debugging can't be turned on, will i have the same problem trying to flash a kernal?
Cheers
How do i flash a kernal with cwm to my phone, do i need to have fastboot on my computer? I fear i am getting out of my depth! i need an idiots guide!!
Flashing a kernel doesn't deal with usb debugging and all.. First of all, tell me whether your bootloader is unlocked or not! Then I'll explain in steps!
Sent from my LT15i using XDA
Neither u need usb debugging to flash a new firmware or to upgrade the current rom..
for flashing purposes only fastboot or flashmode are required..
download the ics firmware ftf file and flash it via flashtool..
At Gire.prasad, I haven't unlocked the boot loader so i asume it is locked.
At now.i.feel. I tried flashing ics firmware again via flash tool but it wouldn't do it, it came up with an error saying it can't connect to my phone.
Thanks
Yes Yes Yes, my phone is back in action. I just flash ics firmware using flashtool again and it worked fine. i tried this the other day and it didn't work so something i downloaded from all of the posts must of helped.
Thankyou thankyou thankyou
It has been a learning curve and i have learnt my lesson. Not to dive in too deep too fast!!!
Thanks to you all again for your in put.

Hi,
i tried to install one of the custom ROMs for Xperia Arc s (JellyBean_V03). I have stock ICS 587, rooted. I installed CWM through X-Parts. Entered recovery, wipe/factory rest, wipe cashe, dalvik and than flashed jellybean_v03.zip from sdcard. It stopped at "initializing update" and than it showed ERROR "status 7". I tried one more time - the same. Restarted phone and now it's stucked at SONY logo. I can enter fastboot and flashmode - i tried different kernels - still no luck. I Flashed Baseband V77_Global.TFT - no luck. All of them are flashing with some kind of errors, after witch flashing is continued. I dont know what to do. I've read a lot of threads about it but i cant find a clear solution and i dont want to do more damage Now I'm downloading SEUS - i try that one, but i dont know if its possible to run it if my phone i detected only in fastboot or flashmode.
Any help would be appricieted
Hey again, trying to delete this link. SEUS helped.

Hey,
i flashed through SEUS, than recovered everything, than rooted again. I didnt try to flash any other firmware until i find out more about locked or unlocked bootloaders, cuz i think this is my problem.
duythanh28:
Download Sony Ericsson Update Service, run it and it will guide you through the process. It will install the latest, stock firmware, wiping all the data.
thanks for your helping, i will try when i go home

I have the exact same problem. They say flash a new rom but how can I flash a new one if windows can't recognize my device? I can't enter flashmode nor fastboot. BTW, did you fix your's?

Have you tried another computer or USB port, formatted your PC even?

Download SEUS from SONYmobile website and follow the onscreen instructions. You should be fine. And - as XperienceD noted - try another USB port if SEUS wont be able t revive your phone.
kisses
I had encountered this problem once before.
After trying to flash a custom ROM,PC Companion and SEUS doesn't recognize device.
Flashing stock ROM did the trick.
You should try it.
Hi,
I flashed my phone with Doomlord kernel and now it keeps on rebooting to doom recovery, when it goes to the recovery mode I see an option to install the stock rom but problem is I don't have it in the phone, now my PC could not detect my phone but the flashtool can somehow detect it. I wanted to put the stock rom that I have from my PC to my phone but I don't know anyway to do it.
Is there a workaround on this? if not then is there a way for me to remove the doomkernel so I could go back to the way my phone was before??

Well just flash a diff kernel
Sent from my Sony Ericsson Xperia Play™ running P.A.C.man ROM using tapatalk 2™
You could buy a microsd adapter, that's way easier than needing the cable imo.
Connect the cable to your PC, go into CWM, Mount Mass storage.. change things around.. maybe change the rom
done

Go into recovery mode >> mounts and storage >> mount USB storage, then attach USB cable to your phone. Now your PC should recognize your SD card and you can access it.
Are you locked or unlock bootloader?

HELP: pls. how to flash diff kernel if phone reboots only on bootloader
I recently got my Xperia M updated into 4.3 JB and rooted it. Since I had my eye on the cm11, I had to unlock the bootloader. So I did everything perfectly as prescribed in the sony developer site. As I unlocked my bootloader, I tried to normally boot it but it is now stuck in a bootloop. I installed CWM by fastboot thinking that it may help. Please help me!!
thats normal... follow steps
1. flash ftf again
2. boot once
3. install cwm
4. flash anything u want

Ok, I will try it. Thanks
Another question: After installing CWM there is no bootloop but it shows only sony logo ,then the phone goes down and can be booted again when battery is reinserted. Is it normal? Can I still flash it without any problems?

The same problem after I installed cwm. After that everything was back to normal.
Thanks everyone, now I am relieved a little.
I cannot flash it. When I connect the phone in flash mode after the flashtool has prepared the files an error comes that processing of loader.sin finished with errors and flashing is aborted. Please help me!!
Can flashing a custom rom using recovery help me beacause the flashtool won't work using any of the ftf files?
I tried to install a custom rom on my xperia s lt26i and i had ofcourse to do some steps before i proceed.
Firstly I rooted the phone with kingoroot.(succeded)
Then, I installed clockworkmod recovery(succeded too, I tested it and it worked like a charm).
Finally, I had to re-partition(using adb tools, succeded too), but a minute after it finished i accidentally plugged out the usb.
So as you can imaging the phone is stuck in bootloop, I cant access recovery too..
Hopefully, the phone is recognized in fastboot mode.
I tried to flash the rom/recovery via fastboot but it says the device must be rooted first...
WELLI THINK IS TOTALLY MESSED UP..
hope someone will help me out!!
