Error when checking for software update?

I keep getting some weird error like "server not available" and then I have to wait 24 hours to try again and then get an error. I know there's probably not an update but want to make sure there's not anything wrong with the phone. Anybody getting an error when checking for software update on AT&T GS3?

My phone says it is up to date when I try the software update, no server found on kies from my phone. I downloaded kies on my computer and when I tried to download the update, it says I can't.

No bone stock. Maybe the server its looking for isn't up yet. Strange though.

Yup. As long as everybody gets the error then we're fine. Issue would be if only some of us were getting it.

I have an ATT S3 and it says mine is up to date! If you guys continue to have an issue I would try a hard reset. You can dot his from your phone.

How do we do hard reset

Maybe AT&T has multiple update servers and only certain geographic areas has theirs up.

Thanks for being the Guinea pig. I'm just going to wait it out. I think their systems are probably not fully up. The phone isn't even sold in stores yet.

When will sprint give me my update!?!?

I have been waiting forever for an update from sprint with jb and haven't gotten anything.. does anyone have a general idea on when it will come out?? I meed a know!!!

theres no ETA, but expect it maybe in a month or so. maybe two at most.
I'm with sprint, and i don't think i have EVER updated oficially, since they always delay everything.
If i was in your shoes, i would root, and install stock jelly belly

I'm really really new on this so I have no idea how to do it.. is there any place I could go that has like a guide for it?

Forever jb has barely been out a month a Verizon doesn't have official either flash a stockish jb ROM for now might as well

With android cdma its best to assume your carrier sucks And you'll never get an update. They're in the business of selling phones not updating them... obtain root control your own device.

No one knows. Either flash a custom ROM, or keep waiting and stop complaining. Sucks, but that's how it is. No one knows when the OTA is coming and until it's officially rolling out you can't know for sure. No use in worrying about it if you don't plan on doing something about it.

It's not stock. It's close, but it has modifications (rooting, de-odexing). Flashing it may increment the flash counter, and reportedly sets the device status to "modified" instead of "normal". It may cause problems with future OTA updates.
You may still wish to flash it, depending on your specific preferences. But don't do so just because someone told you to without mentioning the tradeoffs.
The main OTA thread documents alternative approaches that are also available. For example, you can download (via a link in that thread) the OTA cfg file, copy it to your external SD card, then install it via the built-in recovery (though that will do a factory reset of your phone).

I did not get a promp for it, but I went to the settings and did look for it manually and it showed one was available.
So I suggest you guys just do the manual updated check.

No. But it did take a while to actually download the update. I have a fast connection and it was slow to download.
Also when doing the update uppon botting back up after the update was done it froze on the samsung note II screen and I had to hold down the power button to reboot.

I get the same message in Maryland

I didn't get the update until I chatted with an att Rep online and requested it be pushed to me. You can also install the kies software on your pc and upgrade your os through the Samsung application.

I have not received the OTA update either. I'm in the DC area but my phone number is from IL. Any one know when all Note II users are supposed to have the update?

Increased Battery Drain After Firmware Update

Since the last update my battery drain had been significantly higher, the Android os is using just under 40% this is even when the phone has been in my bag with the screen switched off most of the day, it's like it's not going into sleep mode properly. I read on another forum that this is a common issue and to remove battery and delete cache but so far this hasn't made a difference.

I had to update the firmware a couple of weeks ago, I'm in the UK not sure if that makes a difference.

N900T = no updates.

It mentions herehttp://m.ibtimes.co.uk/android44-kitkat-galaxys4-note3-january2014-galaxys3-note2-524565 that Samsung has suspended updates for other handsets as 4.3 is causing a lot of issues, note 3 isn't mentioned but I see no reason why it would be any different.

It does say the note 3 comes with 4.3 preloaded but mine didn't.
