Bluetooth not working on ANY 4.4 ROM - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I've tried 3 kitkat ROMs so far (Slim, Gummy, Beanstalk) -- and Bluetooth doesn't work on any of them for me.
Every ROM I've tried, BT connects, then says "Bluetooth Share Failed" or something like that. Then loops, connecting/disconnecting.
This is with Honda HandsFreeLink. Works fine with 4.3.
Anyone know of a fix? Is it just me?
Guess I'll just have to wait ...
UPDATE: Turns out it's only the 'bluetooth sharing' (of call history, phone book, etc.) that causes 'com.android.bluetooth' to crash. Media/Audio plays through fine.

[Q] HTC Desire GSM / CM 7.1.0 - Bluetooth issues

Hi all
I've searched for this issue on the forums but can't find anything that addresses my particular problem. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or suggestions.
I'm running CM 7.1.0 stable on my HTC Desire GSM and all is well - all except bluetooth. I don't seem to be able to pair with any devices.
The particular device I'm trying to pair with at present is a PLT BB903+ headset. I know the device works fine since I was able to pair with it when I was running stock Sense and I can pair with it using my wife's BlackBerry without any issues.
The device always appears in my list of found devices, whether it's in pairing mode or not, and even if it's switched off. I've wiped my Bluetooth pairing data using Titanium Backup but it still appears there as "Paired but not connected". Trying to connect fails but no error message appears. Unpairing then repairing has the same result - failure, no error message, and the next time I scan for devices it still appears as "Paired but not connected".
I've installed "Bluetooth File Transfer" from the Market as suggested elsewhere. When I attempt to pair using this I get the message "Pairing operation was aborted by user".
Any thoughts? Anyone had similar issues, resolved or otherwise?
Miz.

I wish someone could reply on this..... I have the same problem. Is it an issue with the Radio??
appreciate any help
There sometimes is a Reset-Button on under the Panel. Take it off and see if there is something.
i`m on 7.1.0 and my bluetooth works fine pairing with an alpine CDE-133BT.
But i have a different Issue:
a crackling and swishing noise in the background as soon as the bluetooth-channel opens for a2dp... with loud music it`s not hearable but with soft and quiet music it`s so annoying!
tried cm7 stock kernel, different Manu`s and Tiamat`s and i flashed the latest Radio... I think i try a different ROM... let`s see...

Bluetooth AVRCP 1.3 - Cannot hear media

so... I think I've narrowed down my issues with newer ROMs coming out and my bluetooth not working in the car anymore. just a little background information,
- 2011 Toyota Camry SE w/ JBL Audio
- Verizon Galaxy Nexus using various ROMs
prior to any newer releases, I would use voice/audio over bluetooth, ran great without a problem. I didn't get metadata on screen but was ok. pandora, spotify, notification sounds, google music, etc... worked like a charm.
well... now I noticed that only voice calls & google music work over bluetooth connection in the car. I thought this was first an issue with pairing the device to the car, so I deleted all the profiles in the car and redid connection on phone. I still couldn't get sound out of any other media application i.e.; pandora, youtube, notifcations, spotify, etc... I could only get google music to work correctly. the apps not working look like they are playing, I turn off bluetooth on phone and it continues playing, but when bluetooth is on I hear nothing.
so after researching, I see that majority of new releases include AVRCP 1.3 which pushes metadata to the displays. I noticed this now works with google music, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get other media services working properly. I've researched on RW, Google, other Android forums and can see some have similar issues, but the thread soon dies. [/background]
can anyone tell me if I can use an updated ROM with AVRCP 1.0 instead of AVRCP 1.3 to test? does anyone have suggestions I could try to get other media services working? thanks!

I think it's AVRCP 1.3 in CM 10 based roms that breaks this. I just switched to jelly belly 9 (4.1.2) which rolled back bluetooth profiles back to AVRCP 1.0 and pandora etc. works but without media info obviously. I also saw a AVRCP 1.3 patch for Pandora somewhere that may make it work. It's possible that the problem isn't that the ROM is not compatible, but that the Apps aren't.

Ok... I've confirmed it has to be AVRCP 1.3
Last night I took advice. I installed Jelly Belly 9 "4.1.2" w/ reverted AVRCP 1.0 because of BT issues, and this morning I went to work, tested connection with BT and everything worked! So... Looks like the issue lies with AVRCP 1.3. I don't see metadata on screen anymore but it doesn't bother me, I'd rather have all other media players working.
To touch on what others are saying, statements Google Music works perfectly fine with AVRCP 1.3 based ROM's as well as voice through BT. It's just the other media players i.e; pandora, slacker, youtube, notifications, etc.... that don't work. I'm guessing from what I read, is that the applications do not support AVRCP 1.3 and will not push to Toyota head units properly. Not sure if this is going to get fixed or not, but sucks because this limits what I can/can't use for ROMs at least a solution was found and reason why. Thanks bud!
You could also try https://github.com/loganakamatsu/PandoraAVRCP for the Pandora patch. Maybe patches exist for other apps as well...
I read on another thread that any app that supports the Scrobble Droid API hxxp://code.google.com/p/scrobbledroid/wiki/DeveloperAPI will pass the meta info to AVRCP. So I assume if you install ScrobbleDroid app hxxps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.jjc1138.android.scrobbler&hl=en from the play store any app that it is compatible with will also pass the meta info to the display.
As noted, Pandora is not supported as it does not broadcast its intents. I personally had issues getting the PandoraAVRCP github to patch. If anyone has a patched pandora.apk, I would certainly appreciate a PM.
Good luck.

Bluetooth issues with car stereo

Hello there. I've been experiencing a problem with my OP3, regarding the BT connection to my car stereo.
I recently bought a new head unit for my car, a Pioneer MVH-X580BT unit, it Works fine. However, when i connect my phone to it, it allows me to playback áudio, but i won't allow me to use it for hands-free calling. The Bluetooth menu on the phone says "MVH-X580BT - Connected (no phone)". It happens with any CM-based rom that i've tried so far.
However, when i install a stock rom (Oxygen OS, Freedom OS also works), it works just fine, both audio and phone mode.
Is there something in custom roms that changes some sort of parameters in the ROM that makes the phone refuse a phone mode connection from the radio?
Any tips i can use?
Thanks!
logcat of the incident:
Here.
Hope it helps.
I've had the same problems. It's an issue with the LOS BT stack. I've created several unofficial versions of my favorite ROMs using a different BT stack that fixes this problem for me. Let me know if they work.

Semi-stock 5.1.1 and bluetooth media sound problem

Dear all,
I'm running DstrikerZ1 Kai ROM that is based on Stock 5.1.1 Lollipop.
I have a problem with bluetooth and my handfree carkit (Parrot Mki9000).
It used to work fine with KitKat.
Now, when my z1c auto-connect to this, the "Media sound" is disabled. I have to manually check its checkbox and the media sound connect & works (like music streaming or navigation voice).
The strange thing is that this happens only with my bluetooth carkit. When I use any other bluetooth device, "Media sound" is active at connection.
As I wrote above, it used to work a few days ago when I was running KitKat. I already tried to remove the device from the bluetooth menu and reconnect.
I would like to avoid any other 3rd party app from the google play (except Tasker, that unfortunately could not help here).
Is this some sort of know problem? Is there a permanent fix?
Thanks for any hints.

What custom rom bypass car audio bt issues?

Hi all,
like many 5T users I bothered problems with bluetooth connection in car audio system (spotify and calling). I've tried everything what I found on forums (downgrading software, clearing cache, energy settings etc.) but with no success. Finally I red somewhere that problem is OOS itself and custom rom should do the work. My question is: what custom rom should I use (on my earlier phone (samsung note 3) I used Ressurection ones)? Did someone tried this way and could tell about results?
Im on cnp and everything seems fine when I connect to my truck.
Thank You for fast reply, but did You experience bt problems on car audio system earlier (with official oos)? And what is cnp?

Codename Phoenix rom
What problems? I've been running oos all long and no issues with my car bt.
Problems with bt connectivity (spotify does not work - stuttering and disconnects and calling also). On official forum it's a popular problem and has many potentially solution. None works for me so far.
Many problems with my car BT (mercedes w211) with TugaPower ROM (now on v26.0)
After the initial connection car reports no (mobile) signal but I can manually dial. Automatic / voice dialing does not work.
Almost on every call BT disconnects and I have to redial. I make the call and few seconds into it, it drops call back to the phone with the car radio reporting "waiting for BT connection"
I tried to look into the logcat but I see no related error(s).
I'm also looking for a good rom that works with my car BT.
