New 4G cameras? Are you referring to the Samsung Galaxy S 4G's camera?
http://www.globaldirectparts.com/Samsung-T-mobile-Galaxy-S-Vibrant-T959-Camera-p/smsng6085857.htm
There's also the i9000 camera...
http://www.globaldirectparts.com/Samsung-Galaxy-S-i9000-Camera-p/smsng6087125.htm
So the camera for the Galaxy S 4G is compatible with our Vibrants?
Thats the same question i was aking myself...? On which i posted another thread... and supposedly they do work... so will be ordering those i guess and just sellthe extra one

Any update on the banding with the new "4G" Cameras? They are currently out of stock with the first linked "4G" camera, but have the I9000 in stock. I'm looking for the best one...
Those that bought the 4g ffc's should let us know how they work out.
The way I understand it, banding aside, is that the 4g cams will only work on a rom based off the t959v (Vibrant 4g) rom, which at the moment is only Bionix Frost. The i9000 ffc will work with everything else, including Bi-Winning and Simply Honey, and also any 2.2 roms if you push the ffc mod files that can be downloaded from the ffc support thread in the dev section.
I originally wanted a 4g cam, but then learned this and decided to go with the i9k instead. It seemed to have much more support in the chance I have functionality issues.
sooo..does anybody have an extra i9000 ffc the v0.2 one that i can buy off them?

Go to mobiletechvideos - he has them for sale. Also, having just bought one, I'll add that he's great at sending it quick and helping you troubleshoot any issues.
i was going to get one off his site, but he is currently all sold out..and he has no idea when he will get some more in. =/
If you have already made the ffc hole and want to play with something else while you wait for the v2 or the 4g ffc cam, I can sell you a spare v1FFC I still have. It would be $20-25 shipped. Let me know if you are interested.
Thanks bro, I appreciate it..but I haven't even started anything yet, and just want to do it all at once with the V2 ffc.
They are out of stock almost everywhere but you can preorder it and get2 for 80 at mobile tech videos
I have a a V1 if your interested.
I would check globaldirectparts. They normally keep ffcs in stock. I work on phones for a living and that's where I get my parts from.

i'm interested. thanks
i have some extra's also willing to sell 50$
So, I bought my phone from someone like 5 months ago, and it works fine except for two things. First the camera does not focuses on macro o close up pictures. It just doesn't, no matter what I try.
And secondly, something that started recently, the WiFi drops....even next to the router. I read somewhere here that it was a manufacturer problem. So I called HTC and they told me I am under warranty and that I should send my phone to them. Question is:
Will they give me another phone? Something I want but with the same CID (0_44 here) and, how long will they take to fix this? I know these are kinda weird questions but maybe someone is able to answer them. Thanks.

It would have been more appropriate to ask HTC, no?

Girl said she couldn't tell me. It "depends on each case" and that's why I come here. Someone might have sent their phone for similar reasons.

We don't know what country you are in, we don't know what service centre you're referring to, we don't know what stock they have, we don't know what backlog they might have, some of those things change with time, we don't know what other problems they might find. It depends on each case.
I'm not sure how anybody here could be more qualified than HTC repair centre to answer the question.
HTC service in Hong Kong told me typically three business days for the WiFi problem, I don't know if that includes the pick up and delivery days
The girl in the US checked my serial number which would tell her my cellphone is CID_044 right?
She didn't tell me I was gonna pay or that they couldn't fix it cuz it was not bought from USA. Is it safe for me to send it?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Well HTC__044 is an asian phone, and the international One X is not sold in the US. I've heard that they can't import new motherboards due to some patent infringement, but that may have changed now.

I have read that too. I find it weird that HTC has a global warranty service center in USA. Meaning that they should fix international phones there...right?

Well, yes, but if it requires importing a component that would go against an import ban, that would mean breaking the law, and I'm sure you can understand why they might be inclined not to do that.

Hey bro, thanks again.
Called HTC again and they can fix my Singapore Phone because I have GW, or Global Warranty and they have a "certified" GWS or Global Warranty Service Center. So, they'll charge $20 bucks and fix it for free. What do you think?

Well, sending my phone this week. Hopefully, everyhing will be fine.

I can't believe they didn't lock that out! I was gonna wait for a Moto X Developer Edition if it didn't, but now this just makes me decision a little bit easier. I've had an HTC One as my work phone since it came out and I love it and I'll be getting a Moto X tomorrow but I don't know how long I'm keeping that job and this has been making my decision harder.
Another confirmation. Now I wonder if moonshine will work...
Why not confirm again. Just went through the process and unlocked my One as well.
Awesome news. That was the clincher. Purchased, picking up after work.

I do not see the Verizon One on the list at HTC Dev. Do you just choose 'other devices' on the drop down? Thinks for any help.

is the past is indicative of the future, unlock now while you can under "other devices"
both the inc4g and dna were able to utilize that to unlock for short periods of time after release, and both got locked out within 10 days-2 weeks
so for those that get the device, don't **** around...just unlock
urgh its like a race against time for me! I get home tomorrow and I'm picking it up around 6pm - I hope I can unlock immediately when I get home
Guys
Im not a dev, im coming from my rooted S3 and I always follow the directions you guys provide and have never had a n issue with my rooting and flashing.
Since i just bought the one should I follow the directions on youtube from and unlock or just sit tight until you guys put all this together....AND I do appreciate all that you guys do for us NON devs..

Has anyone had experience dealing with HTC warranty regarding their first 6 month free screen replacement and been successful?
3 week old device screen shattered from 1 meter fall. What's the policy in HTC Australia.
The phone is on contract with Vodafone and they are refusing to replace screen.
Advantage with regards to cracked screens is US only, unless the HTC Australia website says otherwise
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
unhelpful.
Thanks for your unhelpful response. I wanted a reply from a user in Australia who had the same problem and what they had to do to repair their handset not someone who wants to increase their post count.

Oh and @EddyOS was being helpful even though you could not be bothered to look at the HTC Australia website yourself.
Why people waste thier time with muppets like you is beyond me!

Actually, you asked how you'd go about claiming through HTC Advantage (which is US-only) so I was actually being helpful. If you just wanted to know how to get a screen replaced, I wouldn't have answered at all
Next time, perhaps make the question clearer or relevant and you'll get the answer you want. Hopefully someone over there can give you more feedback as to what they did to replace the screen on their M8
And do you really think I need more posts when I'm over 13,000?
I was just fiddling around with the people edge and saw the oncircle thing.
Has anyone come across it and what are your thoughts? Any good?

Hi,
It's like ChatOn, but appears to be specific to Samsung edge phones.
The reason I posted here was to start a discussion.. I wanted opinions and if anyone knew any special features about it then they might mention.. didn't really think it needed to go in the Q & A section because I had nothing specific to ask. Just thought it was a nice touch (only useful to people who had registered for it!!)
ya i got a s7 edge and always wondered about it. my friend got a note 7 and i finally got to try it out. couldn't see any reason why it is worth using
