this design flaw could kill decent cover with stand func - G Pad 8.3 Accessories

Below two are the covers I would buy. But all have issue with the back cover the speaker in stand mode.
LG could have put the speaker in the opposite half side.
I guess it was not well thought at the beginning.

From what I've seen, that case style has already been pulled because of the flaw and is being redesigned. Most retailers are listing it as out of stock until around Christmas. Not sure why Gambolex is showing it as in stock, though it may just not be shipping yet.

The speaker placement would work just fine with their home-designed case... If they'd ever release it somewhere outside Korea... Or at a decent price...
I'm guessing (hoping, really) that the designers are going to redo the slim cases to be more like one of these, which wouldn't impede the speaker location or have a fabric tab stick out the back of the case after being used for a while, as on the common folio case designs:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Black-Untra-...rs_Keyboard_Folios&hash=item2a350ec6fd&_uhb=1
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Rock-Stand-L...rs_Keyboard_Folios&hash=item5402018aea&_uhb=1
Only time will tell, but they're taking their time, for sure. Actually, I'm thinking of getting a $10 cheap one for interm protection, but I dislike the bulk the common folio designs add. Also, I want a red one, dangit.
Mark

Honestly I prefer the non-official cover.

I don't think that covering up the speakers is really an issue as someone has mentioned elsewhere on this forum describing his experience with a certain case.
If I lay the G pad on a flat surface, whether it be hard or soft, the speakers are also covered but the sound is fine, it doesn't get muffled or anything.

[Q] Motorola Xoom Portfolio Case

I have seen the new accessories released from Motorola, but I think that the Portfolio Case just looks hideous. Has anyone seen a portfolio case similar to the official Apple iPad case (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Apple®+-+iPad™+Case/1271742.p?id=1218246670763&skuId=1271742)?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: While doing my research on the portfolio case and reading your comments, I have been thoroughly convinced to wait on the case soon to be released by zoogue in March of 2011. There is a youtube video on it. It looks pretty good. It is made of leather and allows you to view at nearly any angle due to the use of velcro.

The one that my friends have on their ipads don't tilt and have the viewing angles. That feature is a necessity to me
Sent from my Evo using Tapatalk
Ok, just purchased my Xoom and Moto Portfolio case. Have to say I'm disappointed with the case. Seems like Moto didnt fully think this one out. The build quality is very good and does what it says. Issues are:
1. You cannot charge the Xoom and have it in one of the viewing setups like monitor. In other words you cannot charge and work with a BT keyboard.
2. You cannot charge the device while the portfolio is closed. It has to be opened to access any of the ports
3. Folding the case back covers the on/off button.
4. Edges are hard plastic and seem like they'll leave wear marks on your Xoom after a while.
I got it too, and it's pretty lame. As mentioned above, you can't charge the device while it's propped up. That's the biggest WTF.
I see it as a very temporary solution. I want the tablet in some sort of protective gear, but as soon as something better comes along, I'm sending it to ebay.
you guys are being polite, the portfolio case blows.
the bottom corners have these nubs that jut out and are supposed to 'grip' the bottom, but they don't, and it generally just feels like they didn't actually have the full dimensions of the product before this was manufactured.
I even got out a xacto and cut these nubs off, hoping it would fit better, but it still pretty much sucks. Going to take it back, nubs gone or not. It's a shame because I want a fold back cover just in case I drop this, but this is NOT what I had in mind.
its kinda ok for me (for now) till hopefully otterbox comes out with a case for it. as atoy74 said, it sucks coz it has no opening or something for charging and syncing while closed.
The case really is a piece of crap. I'm constantly worried about the little nubs permanently scratching the Xoom's body and it doesn't close comfortably either. Getting the Xoom out of the case is a pain in the ass too because you're again worried about the body being scratched. It's also a lot heavier than I expected and adds a noticeable amount of weight. Also, not being able to charge while tilting is ridiculously stupid. I was looking forward to using this because of the nice tilting options, one of the few things Motorola got right with this case, but using it has me on the lookout for better alternatives.
i wish i read this before buying it. The case sucks squid ballzzzz
I really like the case. The charging issues you guys mentioned exist because this is a tablet, and is meant to be docked.
My issue is that when I close it.. I feel like I'm going to break a nail opening it. It should have a tab to open it up. Though the price is perhaps a little high for what it is.
never mind I love this case its perfect
This cases is indeed bad. They used way to much plastic. I'll be keeping my eye out for a nice third party case.

What the hell are you talking about? I have owned an Ipad, Galaxy Tab and now the Xoom. I've never had this problem before and I've always used portfolio style cases. Access to the unit's ports should always be accessible and I shouldnt have to buy a $50 dock to do that.

Protective Case Terrible design
Hello All , I have to agree on all point the case is not planed out right . What the HELL I can't charge and close the unit . The unit is awesome, but until someone finds a third party case protector what else can we do or does anyone have another idea or approach to protect their investment.
when you lay the xoom in the case flipped it directs the speaker sound towards you. Most flip cases make it hard to use the device with all of its accessories. The case gives excellent protection and makes watching movies awesome.

I'm not saying the case doesn't have its strong points. But, the negatives are huge. This morning I already noticed wear marks on my Xoom where the plastic tabs rub. COME ON, it's only been 24 hours. There's no justification for a $40 device to reduce the value of a $800 one.
I can't wait for third party cases to start arriving. I've had wonderful experiences with Encase, Scosche, Seidio and Macally. Hopefully they'll have something soon-ish.
I think the case the OP was talking about is the OEM ipad case. I do like it and wish there was one like for the xoom.

Just decided to hop in as I am working with some third party people to either 'get' or develop some accesories for the Xoom. I've been working with them for several months now on accessories for the gTab and it seems to have truned into a pretty solid relationship.
Im hoping to be able to get a few things for the Xoom owners. As SOON as I have get any word I'll keep you posted as well as list something in the 'marketplace' (have to be potically correct )

Vipertech Premium Leather Slim Case on amazon for $14.99 shipped!

Just a heads up- looks like many of the other cases reviewed here but this one is only $10 shipped. I just ordered one; I'll review it when it arrives. 9 5-star reviews!
*Edit: looks like it's up to $15. Still, appears to be the same as the pyro case and a few others that sell for twice that.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-list...-options=see-all-buying-options&condition=new
Wow, that looks almost exactly like the Pyro skin clip case that I just bought for $30 bucks. It's listed on amazon for $14.95+shipping now. How did you get it for $10 shipped? If the quality and build is anything like the pyro, I'd be intrigued

looks like they upped it. It was $9.98 when I posted.
I think that the pyro case (and several others) are the same rebranded chinese thing. I really don't care, all I want is to pay less for it. At $15, it still beats most of the others by at least a few bucks. I'll review it when it gets here.
BTW- I'll update the OP with the price.
I bought this case from amazon for 9.98 shipped and received it in two days! They apparently had a promotion going because they refunded my money and let me keep the case for free in exchange for a review. Great case, great build quality and looks great!
This is the 3rd variation of the same case. I think it's all the same manufacturer just different distributors. I'm in!
Just got mine for 9.98 great quality and got it for free after I left them a review.
I don't know how everybody is giving this case such great reviews. Sure, it's cheap and does its job, but the quality is definetely not there. I got mine yesterday and the clips on the top seem somewhat uneven between each corner. Also, the case does not stay fully flat when holding the tablet opened in your hands. That's quite annoying and makes it basically unusable to me. The case also seems to bulge when closed due to the middle clamps holding the tablet; which, by the way, cover a bit of the bottom portion of each speaker.
For the price, I'd give this case 4 stars, but 5 stars is just too much. People are easily satisfied I suppose.

Look, I don't disagree that it's not perfect, but after owning many, many different cases for many different tablets, I have to say that this one is about as good as it gets for the price. The only cases I've seen that are better quality cost $50 or more. Maybe you got one that is defective; for the price that wouldn't surprise me. Get them to replace it. Also, please don't dismiss those of us that are happy with the case with "People are easily satisfied I suppose." That's rude.
BTW- I tried to figure out what you were talking about when you said "the case does not stay fully flat when holding the tablet opened in your hands" and realized the problem: you're not holding it tight enough. It's new material and needs to be conditioned. Squeeze it a bunch of times to loosen and crease the bottom edge.
I'll try to conditition it when I get home. Do you also notice a bulge when closing it from the middle clips?

Yes. I have a clearprotector full body protector and it fits fine. So far no problem with it catching when I open and close the flap.
BTW- I think this is exactly the same case as the "pyro case" which has a huge thread here. Except much less expensive...
Please be honest guys, does your case stay flush when opening it 360 degrees without pushing it against its back? I find this highly annoying. I've been trying to break the leather all day and have had no success!
Also, anyone else here find that the locking flap marked their tablet over time? I'd hate for that to happen.
Thanks in advance...

My case doesn't stay flush (if you mean folding it completely back like a magazine?) but neither did my belkin ultra thin folio. I believe its because of the design. The only way I can see it staying flush is if the material used was very pliable or there was a hinge (kind of like a notebook with rings).
Also, I too felt that it might scratch my tab with the front clip, but so far it hasnt. Overall, its a good case and in some aspects better than the belkin ultra thin folio.
Yeah, it's growing on me. I do wish it stayed more fluch when fully opened. I feel they could have made the flap holding both parts together a bit longer to allow that to happen.
I'm going barenaked with the tablet on this thing. I really hope it doesn't scratch the edges of my tablet. I have been puyshing the locking flap a bit outward so there's not much resistance to close it. Seems to help a bit.

Cases

There is nearly only 3 types of cases out at the market.
First the hard plastic cases that are coming in 2 parts. There are the glossy ones and the trubberized ones in a wide variety of colors and styles at ebay or Amazon. The quality is OK but not perfect. What I like is the good protection in combination with the acceptable increase of size. The problem is that you nearly can't remove the front part of the case without breaking the very small bars fixing the case to the device. I like the rubberized ones most. They are looking more stable to me than the glossy ones. With the case it's more difficult to slide out the QWERTY keyboard. But it's acceptable. What I like very much is the protection of the on/off button and then loudness buttons. Because without the case I öfter press these keys withooany will.
Then there are the leather cases. There are horizontal and vertical ones. I tried to use the ones for the Samsung Galaxy S2 also, they fit. But of course not together with the hard plastic case together. For that I will try cases made for the HTC Sensation XL. I will share my experiences as soon as I get the cases.
The third category are cases that are blocking the hardware keyboard. That unacceptable for me. I tried rubber cases for the Samsung Galaxy S2 and it worked for one but the fitting is not not really good. The thickness of the device is quite different from most other smartphones.
Hope I could help a little bit and will share my upcoming experiences.
Thanks for checking out the cases, did they the leather/rubber ones block the camera at the back or did it have the correct position for the opening?
The leather ones I tried are for pulling out the device before use.
The rubber one I tried had a big camera hole on the back. But I forgot to check the other connector holes but if I remember correctly some cutting work has to be done. But this is possible with the right tools. Sharp knives and hole cutters for leather/paper.
Best thing is to try the case at a shop. Surely some fits better than others. But I think the Galaxy S2 category is the best you can get. The Galaxy Note ones could be also work, because it's taller but thinner.
The first category cases are made for the device and aren't blocking anything.
I wonder if anyone has tried the one-piece Speck cases yet (can't post links yet, but a Google search for "speck captivate glide" should bring up the page on Speck's site). They look good, but I'm curious if they restrict the sliding mechanism or block the keyboard at all.

Just wanted to share my review, got a hard rubberized case on Amazon from ezbuy123. It's a 2-piece, snap-on. In the past, I've used Otterbox on EVERYTHING, but since they dont have an i927 case out yet, I figured I'd take a chance. The build quality is probably a 3.5/5 - it's hard, it's plastic, it's rubberized, that all is true. The edges of the case around the keyboard area are already starting to get chewed up, and the rubberizing doesnt have any real texture to speak of, I feel like I'm going to drop it when I use it. On the plus side, it isnt a weird neon color, and it doesnt add much bulk or weight to the phone.... All in all, I'd be pressed to give it 4/5 overall, it will definitely be replaced with an Otterbox if they ever decide to make a case for the i927.
Speck Sureslider Case
So I just received the Sureslider case today. I bought it for 24 dollars (from versiomobile before they charged 35 ).
Here's my review on it:
It's a one piece piece that has a hard plastic back with polycarbonate. On the front, it's made up of TPE (thermoplastic elastomer). The TPE gives the case a lip from the screen of the phone. It still slides when you put it on its face but not by much. Only the top part actually clips onto the phone. The back plate just kinda sticks to the phone.. somewhat. There's basically no restriction when you're sliding it, it feels like it's not even there. Regarding the top keys of the qwerty keyboard, it might've moved a nanometer, but not to significant to affect your typing.
Honestly, I don't think the price of $35 is worth it. I'd say it'd be more fair around 13 dollars. It also comes with a one-year warranty, so maybe that's where the high price came from?
The Sureslider case is technically a "one-piece" but when I got it, somehow the connection between the bottom and top part became loose and the top part came out. Needless to say, i thought it was going to be an easy fix. It wasn't . You can't just "slide" it into one piece since there's a hook and a little clip at the bottom to provide stability. After I managed to get the piece together, I went through the packaging, and there was this small instruction slip. It said "If the case becomes separated by mistake, align the two pieces and fit back together."
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
I got the rubberized texture case from ebay (shop4phree*). 5 bucks included shipping. Just to get something on the phone quick before I scractched it. I have to say for being so cheap it has help up surprisingly well. I was going to go for a higher end case at a later time but it's now going on 2 months and I haven't felt the need to switch. The only drawbacks I can see is it interferes with the smoothness of the slide out keyboard (requires a little more finger power to push it up) and the extra bulk it adds makes your top row of keys a little tight when typing(especially with big fingers).Ive dropped my phone a couple of times and it has held intact.
Im a cheap bastard so my $5 case works great for me.
Amzer cases
Well i managed to snap the feelers on my first case (the black rubberized one), so I've moved on to an Amzer case from Amazon. It's a 2-piece, snap-together advertised as "one piece". The build quality is probably a 3/5 - it's hard, it's plastic, it's rubberized on the back half, but the front half is clear hard-poly that looks awful (definitely not at all like what the pic on Amazon makes it look). It doesnt add much bulk or weight to the phone, but it is slightly bulkier than the previous case I reviewed. Hopefully Otterbox will come up with a case for the i927 soon, I'm quickly tiring of these cases...
L4T
http://www.daydeal.com/home.php?cat=6439
Haven't tried any of them but their stuff is good.
Body Glove Captivate Glide
I just received the Body Glove two-piece case for the Glide. It's $30 from AT&T, but I got it from All4Cellular for less (it's also on Amazon for even cheaper, which is a bit annoying as it was out of stock when I last looked there). It's pricey, but highly reviewed on AT&T's site.
It looks high-quality (none of that gummy rubber sort of stuff) and fits snugly. A bit too snugly, actually, as it was fairly difficult to get on and (according to other owners) nigh impossible to get off. On the plus side, that means it's not going to just pop off in your pocket.
The case fully covers the back of the phone (except for holes for the camera, flash, microphone, speaker, and buttons), and on the front, it covers the bezel. It doesn't interfere with the sliding at all, though the front cover does stick out enough to potentially cause problems with the top row of physical keyboard keys. That said, the keyboard side of the front cover has a little cutout at the bottom that may alleviate that problem a bit. I haven't noticed any major difficulties typing so far.
As with any two-piece case, there's a gap between the pieces where the phone slides, so it's not going to protect from anything getting between the phone halves. Also, it only comes in one color--a metallic blue sort of look--so if that's not your thing, you're out of luck.
I'd give it four out of five stars, knocking off a star for the difficulty in getting it off, though I'd recommend it for the build quality.
Does anyone know of a otterbox case from another phone that would fit this one for protection? (commuter or defender)
And what about silicone cases? Soft ones I mean..
There's a Case Mate Barely There case now available for the Glide, you can find it on Amazon. Did anyone try it?
Mom is with ATT so she picked the Captivate Glide cuz I have Epic. LoL Basically, she also want a slide-out keyboard.
I ordered this for her on eBay.
http://www.daydeal.com/product.php?productid=64678
One problem, the sellers posted different quality. Some say hard plastic and some say rubberized. I went with a seller that said rubberized with good reviews. $7 with free shipping. I'm waiting on that to arrive and see how it feels
Just a question, since I'm not a native english speaker:
what does 'rubberized' mean? Does the term refer to a hard case with soft grip or to a flexible silicone-like case that you can even bend and it keeps the shape?
Thanks

I agree with your comments. This case is much better quality than the no-name clear ones I've seen elsewhere. It is a pain to install / remove, but I like it tight, lol. I've had cases for other phones where it comes off easy, and they become a pain in the @ss.
They are the most expensive I've seen, but worth the price if it saves your phone from just one concrete ground fall.

Shenit Bumper Case Review (LG Bumper Clone)

There have been a few threads linking to the Shenit TPU Bumper Case that have kinda died out because, well, it's no longer available on Amazon despite having been available long ago with a very future ship date. I ordered mine when the listing first went up on Amazon and it just arrived today! Here are my observations and judgments:
The Details
The case is made from two materials: TPU and a hard plastic. You can see the two materials in the photos on Amazon. It's done in a way that is still incredibly low-profile. The TPU covers all buttons, corners/edges, and ports (not the camera lens nor camera light, though). The hard plastic covers the back, the back corners, and some of the sides. The hard plastic is a *perfect fit* over the camera lens ring - from the back of the phone it is 100% impossible to tell the color of my phone.
Something that can be very clearly seen in the photos, and is the same with the official bumper, are the angles at which the sides have. This causes the feeling that the back edges of the phone "stick out". This seems to be a love-it or hate-it thing for most people. I'm torn about whether I like it or not - it definitely seems different than what I'm used to. That said, this was by no means a surprise for me and I expected it to be just like this. So in my Pro/Con list, this is what I'm talking about with the "back corners sticking out".
Oh, and it came with a piece of red velcro for some reason!
The Good
Overall, it's a very nice and snug fit on the phone yet it's not terribly difficult (also not terribly easy, in a good way) to get it off of the phone. With this case on the phone, I'm certainly not concerned with the phone slipping out whether pulling the phone out of a purse with something tugging on the case nor with skinny jean pockets or anything else. The feel of it is a mix of a TPU feel and a "soft" feel for hard plastic (think the feel of the back of the black version of the Nexus 5 to mean what I mean "soft" for hard plastic, not Quicksand case "soft"). Nobody will have problems with this slipping in and out of their pockets nor is it incredibly slippery either.
For protection, this provides the protection you would hope from a TPU case and not much more. As you can see in the photos, every corner and edge is covered by TPU including the four corners on both the front and back as well as the edges along both the front and back of the phone. The back of the phone, however is only covered with the hard plastic. Take a look at the photos and you can tell where the TPU ends on the insides of the case and where the hard plastic begins on the outsides of the case. This case might protect your phone from a drop and it might not - just like with all TPU cases. If you buy this and you play first-person shooter games where you can change your armor out, this case could be thought of as light armor or perhaps medium armor but no where near heavy armor.
It is definitely an attractive (and Nexus branded!) case that doesn't look like what many of the other $14 cases out there look like. As you can see from the photos, the case is molded perfectly to fit with the camera ring cutout. Speaking of the camera ring, the case is just a tad thicker on the back side than your camera ring so if you lay it down on the back, your camera ring is no longer a protrusion. This may have some implications for those of you with magnetic accessories for the camera ring but I can't really comment much on that. Ultimately, unless you look at the port cutouts or see my white speaker on the front, this case makes it impossible to tell the color of my phone - that's how perfect the molding is for the fit. The ONLY flaw I could find with the case's fit was for the microphone on the top of the phone. The microphone isn't perfectly centered in the hole but it's also not covered either.
The Bad
There are three primary problems I have with the case.
First of all, a quick browsing at the time I wrote this turned up quite unfruitful in actually identifying where you can even buy this case today! It is now listed as unavailable on all of the Amazon postings and even all of the eBay cases that look just like the OEM bumper case have seemed to vanish. I'm curious if you can even buy this case anymore as I couldn't find it anywhere now!
So here's the first knock on the case: The buttons have a mushy feel with terrible feedback on the power/volume buttons. We all know that cases tend to be Good, Meh, or Bad here and this case definitely qualifies as bad. Sorry!
And the last thing:The USB Port cutout, while appearing quite large, is unfortunately too small for a variety of USB cables. The first 3 USB cables I randomly grabbed didn't fit comfortable in the space provided although the fourth one did. So you'll have to find a cable that will fit in there if you ever need one and don't use Qi for all of your charging needs.
Pros:
Nexus Branded!
Plenty of color options and cheap (it was $14 shipped from Amazon)
Great snug fit with perfect molding to the phone
Feels like you hope it would feel from the photos
Very low profile - better than your typical TPU case (except for the back corners sticking out)
Plenty of room around the 3.5mm audio port.
Won't affect NFC, Qi, or radios
Cons:
Hard to buy (no longer on Amazon and the eBay lookalikes are no longer listed either)
Took a month to ship
Bad button tactile feedback
Many USB cables won't fit in the cutout for the USB port
I hope you enjoy!!

I just got mine today too. I got the blue one. Does it feel like pyramid shaped to you? Mine does. The back is thicker than the front. Buttons are not that bad. Better than some of the cheap tpus. I can still see some white bordering the camera in the back. Not too bad a case. But the shape is weird. Does the original case have that pyramid shape? If you hold it by the sides you cab definitely feel that the back is wider than the front (lip).

Yup, I commented on this in my more thorough review. It's different than I'm used to but exactly what I expected from the photos on Amazon (and Google's OEM listings/reviews as well). I still don't know if I like it or not. Like you said, it's weird.

If I compared this to the worst TPU case I've ever had (and I've had some bad ones) that was rated as a 1 from 1-10, then I'd give this case a 2. You're right, there is worse. But not much worse - it's pretty bad. Maybe your blue one has slightly different buttons than mine but mine is pretty bad.
For the white around my camera on the back, I can't see any white whatsoever. At least I don't think I can even as I'm trying to look for it although I guess it's possible that the white + shadow makes it blend in with my light gray case. I don't see it, though.
Even no longer available but there are some cases like this in eBay if anyone would like to give it a try: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GOOGLE-PREM...Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&var=&hash=item3cdc425b73. But don't expect too much as this is chinese stuff. And Play Store now available for $26~ after 25% off (still got shipping fee+ tax).

That looks like the same case but is definitely different packaging than what I received. Thanks for the link though, I was unable to find those on eBay when I tried yesterday.

Uhh have you seen what most people have been saying about the official bumper? It's a low quality POS for the most part. Not worth full price, and even at $26 it isn't worth it with the peeling, staining, etc. Doesn't matter if it's from the play store. The unofficial ones might even hold up better, who knows, but the standard Google set with the official bumper case isn't exactly high. Besides, there's extra colors with the unofficial ones that some people might enjoy.
Anyway, if anyone still wants these ones I did find a link for super cheap. Of course it will probably take 3 weeks to a month to get to you, which is the case for most things shipping from overseas. But $12.99 shipped should make up for it. The Nexus logo is printed in a different color than the case on some of the color choices (just scroll down on the page to see).

God, it can't be any worse than the official bumper. I wish we had a better selection of actual bumper cases.
I'm using the Gray bumper clone for couple days. No staining (yet) , nice soft touch. Back panel is a bit bigger than front (as mentioned in 1st post).
I also have glass protector from Nillkin on, the case doesn't seem to push the glass.
Update: Now it has some blue from my jeans. sigh..
I may certainly be wrong but I'm beginning to think these unofficial cases are the same as the official ones, same manufacturing line and everything.

Official Google Nexus 5 Bumper (semi-review?)

When I ordered my official Google Nexus 5 Bumper in Red I was more than excited to have an official case I knew I wouldn't have any problems with.
Upon opening I loved it. The red bumper on my Nexus 5 looked fantastic! I was thrilled that I was going to be carrying it around now.
First:
It fits perfectly with the buttons on the sides as well as cutouts for speakers and buttons. There's no doubt about it, although the buttons may be a a little harder to push at first, due to the case's button popouts being rigid, you can quickly get used to this and it isn't a real problem. The cutout for the speakers don't seem to limit the sound at all, so that was all good. And the cutout for the charging port fits most chargers without any issue. I only had an issue with one of my cables that has a huge plastic piece around the micro USB metal piece, but it wasn't made for the Nexus 5 so it doesn't really affect my opinion of the cutout. Plus it works with wireless charging, so that's a plus. The cutout for the headphone jack fit all my headphones perfectly, even ones with the L-shaped jack, so I was happy with that as well.
Other than that, I loved the relatively slim design of the case as well as the nexus logo on the back. I can noticeably feel the case's added width when I take it off, but it isn't a huge difference like many other cases may add. So it keeps the device still relatively slim.
BUT I WAS DISAPPOINTED after I put it on and started assessing the actual fit. I thought it would be a harder material. Although it "snapped" on perfectly, the case was loose around the top and bottom.
On the top:
The case could be pushed in, to where it would make a sound from rubbing on the Nexus 5. I adjusted the case and put it on again but nothing. It almost felt like the cheaper silicon cases bought for devices that eventually warp and don't fit properly. This is extremely annoying (at least for me) because I expected the case to be a perfect fit on the top and bottom without me being able to push parts of the case and have them move, or make a rubbing sound.
On the bottom:
The same thing occurred. The small piece of rubber above the charging port (closest to screen) is very flimsy. I noticed wear from two days of use. This involved taking it out and putting it in my pocket. My pants aren't tight so it wasn't a squeeze. It came from me grabbing the case right above this small piece of rubber and pulling it out. As with the top, I can push this piece of rubber pretty easily and have it move in and out (or up and down, however you want to say it). It seems it will continue to get looser until it is warped a bit.
Overall:
I was disappointed with the case. I contacted Google and as per their return policy they offered a refund without returning or swapping the case. The top and bottom "mis"-fits really killed the excitement for the case. With the top being able to be pushed in AND making a rubbing sound, it irritated the crap out of me. And with the bottom rubber piece over the charging port being flimsy and possibly warping JUST from everyday use of the case, I can't love the case like I wanted.
Last thing:
Anyone else have this issue? Or any other issues? When I read and watched multiple reviews, none of them seemed to show all of the bad things I found with my case. So part of me thinks it may be just mine. I am considering ordering another with the refund offer but I am hesitant to spend money on another and have the same results.
I use the official bumper case for my 5 in the really dark grey/black color. I really like this case. I didn't pay full price for it so that might be why I don't mind it as much.
I do not have any loose areas anywhere on mine and fits very snug.
I seem to be in the minority here as I really like using this case. It's simple, slim, feels good, fits nicely, it's everything I need and want in a case. I'm extremely cautious with my phones and would never be caught with an otterbox or any other humongous case. For me slim and simple is the way to go.
Sorry to hear you encountered some problems with yours.

same here. it works perfectly with my phone too. no loose top or bottom areas here. i don't know about slim but it is handy and gives a good grip. also the charging point rubber you talked about? for me it's a bit tight fit for the charging pin but it just gives way when pushed with a bit of presssure and comes back when pin is removed. otherwise no problems for me with this case and i'm pretty satisfied.

Where did you get it ?
I saw a video about the replica bumper cases from China and decided to get a couple of them. They said the quality was identical to the ones from Google. Plus, it was only $20 for 2 cases. When I get them, I'll post here with a mini review.

Do you want me to hold your hand? Figure it out.
I would buy this, if the peeling issue wouldn't be present.. how is your opinion?

I haven't received them yet. Will let you know as soon as I get them. Shipping from China takes a while.
I got a red one about 3 weeks ago.
It started peeling (sort of) at the corners within 10 days, black material was showing up.
Upon removing the case, I discovered that it left long marks on the rubbery back of the black Nexus 5, along the ridges of the bumper.
Thats when I decided to sell it off.
Simply put, it looks awesome, fits awesome, but as a product, its bad, and not at all worth the money.
Atleast those marks are slowly dissappearing (Trust me, those arent dust or something)
