Hey everyone, I had to reflash the ZVC software through LGNPST because I bricked my phone and now I'm having trouble unlocking the bootloader - I've never had a problem with this before! When I run Freegee it doesn't even ask or have the option to unlocked the bootloader, just to flash recoveries. I tried that hoping it would unlock it, but it didn't work. The older versions you would just click "unlock my phone" but this new one it doesn't exist. I even tried using an older freegee to unlock it, but even though it says "Your phone has been liberated!" it still remains locked. Any ideas?

Have you tried the sbl unlock in the FreeGee menu? Or teeny bins, since you already have LGNPST.

There is no option for that in the new version of freegee that I downloaded, none that I can find! And yes, I tried the teeny bins as well
The only way to install a recovery is to unlock the phone .

So as Shel said... If you have a recovery, then your unlocked.
I ran it last night and it is even more simple now. Backup EFS, install recovery, Done.

Thanks for the new FreeGee. It's so simple, a caveman can do it.
Guess I need to rewrite/shorten the guide now.
So now we just go straight to the SBL unlock I guess?

The Google comes from the sbl unlock that used to be the only option on the new FreeGee.
The Freegee released last night gives you an option of the old style with LG, and the new style with Google.
Eventually you'll end up with the Google style just because that will be needed to unlock your phone. That's just the nature of our phone.
As for the lock symbol, are you sure it isn't an open lock and just not turned? Mine has it and is unlocked. If you press and hold the power+vol up that should give you TWRP or CWM. Whichever was your choice.

hey guys i'm having an issue going into recovery mode, via fast booth after i unlock the boot loader.
i made a youtube video of what happens from start to finish. basicley, after i unlock the boot loader i can no longer get into my android os, or fast boot, or recovery. my phone is 'soft bricked' and the only way to come back from this is to go into download mode and reflash z7 image.
ive tried using rom manager to get into recovery after unlocking the boot loader but it still does the same thing after restart, a quick flash of the LG logo and a black screen that doesnt seem to every go away.
if you have 8-10 minutes can you please watch my video, i go thru step by step what i do to downgrade to z7 to unlocking boot loader.

I just unlocked my phone this morning with no problem. I think your problem is your unlocking with your computer and then running the unlock app on your phone. Try unlocking with just the app.

so you rooted, then ran freegee?
which recovery are you using?
That's all I did. I've been rooted for a while, yesterday I got the freegee app from the play store ran it and picked twrp for my recovery.
My phone is now unlocked running stock rooted v9. Have you went to irc for help?

Did you do OTA v9? There are rooting problems with that. The devs have suggested you root stock v8 and then flash the v9 rooted image from the forums.
Yeah sorry I should of specificed that I flashed the deodexed stock rom from the forums.

yes i would like that fix to can you send me it?
I don't know how to start talking about this so here we go...
I tried updating OTA with my phone rooted. I never unlocked bootloader btw. In the midst of updating, I got the android laying flat on his back w/ the red triangle w/ the exclamation point in the middle. I freaked out and was bout to cry until my phone booted up. I never had that happen.
A few days later, I decided to unroot my phone and try updating again (because the constant popups were annoying) and same problem.
My last resort was factory resetting the phone and try the update...no dice.
So I need help.
1) How can I update when it just...won't let me. Another option is
2) How can I can turn off the pop up notification. I know how to turn off the status bar notification. Or a REALLY DRASTIC OPTION is
3) How do I unlock bootloader? I am terrified and would want proof but this method is if I am REALLY desperate.
If nothing works, I hope I can take my phone up to Sprint and exchange it for an HTC 8XT, since my phone is still worth something...I hope.
Thanks for people who respond and try to help me in advance
EDIT: Scrolling through forums I found someone who posted the same thread like mine so...you can do whatever you want to this thread.
I apologize.
Don't OTA it then. Download some ZVC rims in the Android development section..... I believe Mr.Nerdz ZVC is a stock rom with no tweaks what so ever. Dunno if it comes root or not and if not, rooting and unlocking is the same as ZVB

Then use the sbl unlock in FreeGee's menu.
Or LGNPST with teeny bins. Both unlock the same way, just with a different delivery.

Yeah. When I first have LGOG, I used freegee and soft brick as well. Then used teeny bin and was okay. The latest freegee helped me unlock and didn't soft brick on me in zvc when I manual update zvc thru lgpnst

PMed yu bro. dunno if forum allow pastebin so i pmed u the guide check it out.
I have to return my handset for warranty purposes so I want to unroot/re-lock bootloader etc. The process I followed for root and unlock are in this post.
I have the stock ROM the phone came with and I have tried unrooting (which did work obviously) but I am still left with the bootloader unlocked and that warning message when the phone is switched on.
Anybody know how I can remove that and relock the device? I should probably have done that before removing root......
I would just flash back to stock with lg flash tool...

Yeah everything went well mate. Thanks for your interest
using the restore option with the freegee app just restores the last recovery you had installed before you used freegee to unlock.
Hi everyone. I completely apologize for this question as I am absolutely new to Android and to unlocking a phone. I just bought a R800x Verizon Xperia Play for the sole purpose of being able to play emulators. I will not be activating it to use as a phone. I have read as much as I can and am still a little confused in regards to being able to unlock the bootloader and install roms.
If the bootloader message says No, am I not able to unlock it or install roms at all?
If it says yes, can I install any rom, or am I limited to what I saw as Cola and a few others?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Anyone help me out. Or can I keep it locked but install cola?
You can.unlock the bootloader I have mine unlocked using sonys unlock method but.if you wish to.stay with a locked bootloader yoj can.install cola but you'll have to.root 2.3.3 install clock work mod.recovery I my.self.am.vefy glad I unlocked my.bootloadef and since yoj habe.no.intentions of using the phone side yoj could install numeruous amounts of gsm roms

If I unlock it using that method. I've read the forums. I just need to get flash tool then and pick a rom I want to use. Most roms come with the clockwork recovery from what I'm seeing.

hey all
got a gsm GNEX that was stuck on bootloop.
have tried every way to unbrick it i could find flashing with odin, rootkit and fastboot and adb... have flashed android 4.0, 4.2, 4.4 and CM-11
same thing happens everytime every seperate flash the phone will reboot 5-10 times then say "updating apps" will finish that and go into a constant bootloop...
im wondering if the phone is either hardbricked or if its a hardware failure.
any help would be great
cheers
Hardware failure. Your internal memory is fried. Try to lock the bootloader. If its still unlocked on boot, you know it for sure.

Did you use the flash-all.bat or did you flash everything manually? The lines could be an electrical issue or its an issue with the screen..
