This Kaiser ROM is based on not so super froyo RLS18
---------------------------------------------------------------
1.02 is the latest version and is a full version, so you do not need to download 1.0
If you want to set a locale other than Spanish or English you will still need to apply this patch
and as a result of the patch you will loose the battery % indicator
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Valentine 1.02
Tested with clemsys #63 2.6.32 kernel and a recent atools generated 2.6.32 vanilla kernel
Change log:
1.0
Initial release
The desktop background has been changed by a smaller file
The battery indicator has % and battery shape (not the green circle)
Go launcher EX in DATA
minor updates
removed some fat in line with FatFree RLS5
1.01
Fully odexed SYSTEM for a faster boot
minor bug fixes
minor app updates
1.02
Replaced 1.01 market with one optimized for the Kaiser (thanks to my tocayo Arturo for the tip)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For your convenience here are two kernels tested with this rom:
Kernel with both wifi and DATA enabled clemsys #63 2.6.32 kernel
Kernel with WIFI-only clemsys #63 wifi-only 2.6.32 kernel
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you want better localization at the price of the battery percentage indicator you can install this patch
But bear in mind I do not personally use this patch and it is reported not to work with Valentine 1.02 so I recommend you do a nand backup before trying it
Feedback is welcome...
If you have another kernel that works fine with this rom, please send it to me indicating if it is .32 or .25 and what you have tested and I will be happy to add it to this post to help other users looking for the perfect match rom + kernel
and if somebody wants screenshots you can find some there (with a theme on)

TIPS AND KNOWN ISSUES:
- If you have issues with wifi, 3g or bluetooth, install this androidupdate tar ball:
and repair permissions afterwards
- When using atools please set the correct panel type and refrain from using ´auto´ as that feature is far from working well.
- If you have problems with sound and/or camera try using radio 1.70.19.9 (and not later)
wow dude is so fast is more faster than Fat Free Froy!!! Everything works only exporting from SIM work with Radio 1.70.xx Good job
glad you like it!
I must admit I haven´t tried exporting from SIM as all my contacts are on my google account. Did this work in ´Not so super froyo RLS18?´
Feel free to elaborate on the nature of the problem...

Not So Super Froyo is All Language.. Why you deleted any language? I love my home language Did you make All Languge version?
Where is the kernel stored at? I'm still new to this whole idea. Can I just put this on my SD card and dual boot into this or not?
i have 2 issues:
1. Artifacts on screen
2. home screen doesn't show.
kaiser
error msg:
The application Setup Wizard (proecess com.androidsetupwizard) has stopped unexpectly. Please try again.
On my Kaiser everything work fine. For now cant test sync with google maybe later will try.
The kernel is meant for installing android on the NAND of your phone (so bye bye windows mobile if you do that.
You should follow a haret guide (that is for dual booting)

did you erase your DATA partition and the dalvik cache?
The dalvik cache you need to delete when you alter your SYSTEM partition...

the lack of language support is due to the file /system/framework/framework-res.apk
You could update your system with the one from RLS18 and you will recover your language support (you will use the battery % indicator and the smaller (faster) desktop background
so take framework-res.apk from RLS18
create a folder called system, and inside another one called framework
tar this ´system´ folder and call it androidupdate.tar
flash that using update (use the atools script)

Out of curiosity, did you set the language in your kaiser to Bulgarian?
(I have only tried English and Spanish)

Okay I want to dual boot just in case something happens. BTW I reformatted my card, and for some reason it won't open the android install menu now. It says something about no rootfs found?
you really should go to the thread about atools for that sort of thing.
Basically modern kernels as generated by atools need also an atools generated installation script (which is used once only)
But I am afraid this thread is not the best place to ask for help with that, as it is not really related to the androidinstall.tar I uploaded here (you will have the same problem with any other androidinstall.tar) , but rather about installing the kernel with DATA and SYSTEM configured to run from the correct place...

Sorry about posting in the wrong thread. I will look into the ATools issue. I guess that was all packaged with Myn's Warm donut and thats why that ROM worked but not this one. I will hopefully get to run this in the next couple of days.
everything is cool except data connection
so everything i s fast and stable no fc`s no hangs no bugs except one data connection whatever i try nothing happens there is no data connection even after applying the update
I have the same report. Great but no data connection. WIFI does work fine.
same results with Nand and haret install.
Can I deleted some apps from app and system/app folder?
Interesting, that is a bug we must find a way to fix...
a)Did you repair permissions after applying the update?
b)Did you try to set the APN details manually? check here for a full list of APNs
c)If still no luck try the following:
1) using the latest atools generate a current 2.6.32 kernel, update package and install script, set to clear data, install system, install updates, fix permissions, clear dalvik cache
2) install the Valentine 1.0 rom
3) check if data works now...
4) If it doesnt´t go back to step 1 with a 2.6.25 kernel
5) Let me know the results...

sure, but which ones do you have in mind?
if you have adb you could do:
adb remount
(so system is writeable)
adb shell
(to get a shell)
then
cd /system/app
mv app_I_want_to_remove.apk app_I_want_to_remove.bak
reboot
If everything works fine then you didn´t rename a critical apk...

thanks to all the above the dream of runing android on i8000 came true. and because of their job we were expecting faster and faster, more and more efficient and smooth versions.
i followed their path. got a version, modified it, combined the best parts of each ROM and i am offering a new ROM much closer to be complete and less beta.
DETAILS ABOUT THE ROM
It is not based on frenkiedroid as far as i know but followed other path onto chinese ROMS. I think it is faster than any other ROM (tell me if not). It has achived score 1035 on antutu on my class 10 sd card (this is almost the speed of a native android phone using cm6 and this fast hardware)
According to measuments made using Benchmark & Tuning it is up to 56% faster compared to the already fast frenkiedroid
Tested
bluetooth
wi-fi
3g
calling
sms
radio
gps
usb connection
battery lasts up to 2 days

You can try either my ROM or twister2 ROM from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2342764
they are both the same level
the fastest is mine
faster GPS in on mine (ms-based preconfigured)
wi-fi i think works a little better on twister
twister has preloaded facebook etc, while mine has only stock apps
mine has business (single) coloured menus while twister has fancy (multi) coloured menus
if you want to install optional apps that have ads and you are not expert on android then install twister
if you want to install apps that do not have ads (or have ads and you are android expert) you can choose mine
please not that some people mentioned that with my ROM their SIM card was not recognized. i am not sure if the same for your SIM, your country.
Only two ROMS to choose. so you need only a few hours to try them both and make your decision. the choise is yours
Samsung i8000 (omnia2) android cm6new rom v4
as I promised long ago to publish
SAMSUNG I8000 (OMNIA2) ANDROID CM6NEW ROM Version 4
- Support even more SIM
- Speed improvement - response
- Corrected some errors
- Upgrading of most programs
- Show ics (ice cream sandwich - android 4.0.X)
- Arrangements for energy savings
The new enhancements took me some time and study. I8000 reaches its limits due to its old drivers that are already written for mobile identical hardware with it.
Hope you like it and I expect opinions and suggestions to version 5 if there will be any further developments. Otherwise I will try to assist in the plan for android 2.3 on our mobile.
Explanation photo below
1 = home screen (the background is black on purpose because the amoled screen thus consumes less energy. If you want to change select another background with as many black dots. Black and not just dark color.)
2 = dialer with ics theme, search function names and support many languagesk. Make it default dialer if you like it
3 = new android ics Task Manager (task manager). Appear with long press of home button. If you do not like replace it with the Advanced Task Manager or ICS Task Manager / Switcher. To open them again by long pressing the central button select Settings / Cyanogenmod Settings / Input / Long-press home settings / select custom application
4 = ics camera
5 = menu ics (holo launcher)
6 = ics settings
For those who want even more contemporary look can choose Active lockscreen or Holo Locker
I tried installing this on my Omnia II.
I successfully create the partitions on my SD card, but when I go to starting the process with the ROM file, it comes back with the error message:
"The image file requires an updated version of this program."
I grabbed the latest version just to try it, and I need to purchase a key to make it work.
Yes, I reset my computer clock to September 1st, 2011. Do i need to reboot the machine after the clock reset?
Everything else so far seems to work fine, and if this works even half as good as I think it will, props to you for getting this done. I hate hate HATE winblows 6.5 on my Omnia II, and always wanted android. I tried a few of the older attempts years ago, but nothing was every stable enough to keep it.
Thanks again for any help.

I tried this program, and again, comes up with the same error message.
I'm getting to the point where I have to change the date, then run image for windows, but it just keeps giving me that error.
I'm running windows Vista, could that be causing the issue? is there any other information I need to change or pay attention too?
I'm literally doing everything step by step, and yet its not working for me.

it's only 542.27 KB. how long time can get to download ?
even if you have dial up or the server is full you need seconds to download it
just make sure the time change is ok and better cut all internet connections before execute the program

I've just tested it, the same problem I had as others already mentioned. I went back to the version 3, success! So I think the version 4 image is damaged or not correctly made. By the way, the version 3 that did work for me has no microsd card support. You should modify by yourself the startup.txt file to enable the sd card support.
Hope my words can be helpful to others.

i made my ROM to be installed on sdcard with sdcard support. Hundreds of users already installed it and no problems at all. i installed V4 again last night and no problem at all. my phone is i8000 8gb version if you install on storage card YES you should edit startup.txt and also edit vold.fstab and fstab files.
if find some free time from android 2.3 development project testings i will make a Version 5 and on this version i hope minor problems to be solved.
I downloaded the newest version of Image for Windows, which is v2.83 (the one in the package is v2.61), the tool to write the image into the partition ext4, and this time, everything went just like a charm.
I have to admit that the V4 image is a very good one. It's really fast and clean. I think the problem that we had before is caused by the lower version of Image for Windows. V2.61 can't load correctly the V4 image file, which I think is made by a higher version of Image for Windows. With the new version of Image for Windows, it's even not necessary to change the date.
The Chiese ringtones in this ROM are hilarious. I'm a Chinese, they are OK with me. But I think original ringtones would be better for common users, hehehe.
great work , will it work on omnia b7610 too !!

technically yes it can run. but i do not own one to test it myself. you can try yourself and tell us your experiences. test on sd card installation first. it it pretty smooth and fast. you will be amazed. in case it will not work you can always check TwisterV2 ROM also very fast and smooth
see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2342764
alternatively in case you meet some driver conflicts you can always use ubuntu and other ROM's drivers to edit this ROM and make it work for you.

I am facing the same issue, I cannot load my Storage Card.
1. I am confuse with term SD Card here. Is it refer to Storage Card or My Storage? Storage Card means external micro sd card, isn't?
2. I followed the instruction and put the Image to Storage Card. How can I activate the Storage Card Support by editting fstab files? Where can I find these files?
3. I had format Partition 1333Mb to ext4 File System, but I wonder why it always turn to ext3 after I restore TBI file(after ImageRecover step). Is it okay?
Thanks.
CM 10.2
Issue:
No BT call.
Broken audio in VOIP (viber, skype, teamspeak etc). Tinyalsa would fix that, but it breaks calls. ( Read this)
Mic key (voice search) works, you need to enable: settings -> system -> hardware keys -> enable custom actions (check) and app switch set to voice search.
To get home key logn press action: settings -> system -> hardware keys -> enable custom actions (check) and home key (long press) set to Recent app switcher
When you upgrade, phone app may not work, you must remove the shourtcut, and readd. (thanks scotte9999)
Sometimes it stuck boot logo (cm,samsung, roger), or boot loop, try to remove battery and wait 4-5minutes, or flash stock ICS with odin, and try again. (report back if any of those works)
Liblight works very simple, when your lcd birghtness low buttons and keyboard light is on. You can use qwertyled or other liblight, read more.
Slow storage performance in some apps.
Camera doesnt put exif orientation to the jpeg.

I noticed that the Phone app as well as Local and Navigation apps aren't available. I'm re-downloading the zip and will do a fresh reinstall. Steps I took to upgrade from CM10.1.2:
Using CWM
1) Copy CM10.2 zip to sdcard
2) Backup
3) Wipe data/factory reset
4) Wipe dalvik cache
5) Install CM10.2 from zip
6) Restore data (advanced restore -> restore data)
7) Reboot
All user installed apps were upgraded upon first boot. And they seem to work fine. Even Gmail and Maps works. I can receive calls, and I can make calls from the People app. But when I tap on the Phone app, a message states that the app is not installed. In addition, there is no Local or Navigation app in my app list.

you should try without restore data just pure install.

Ok I'll try that tonight. Thanks. Last night I tried several times and each time I had the same result. I finally just did a complete wipe and restore of all from the backup I had made prior to trying the 10.2 upgrade.

Facelock is absent
Hello.
I'm did clean installation of this ROM and found that Facelock option in screen lock dialog is absent. Is there any way to add it? Can Gapps installation fix this issue?
And is there any way to speed up PicSphere rendering? It takes over 30 minutes for full sphere (64 photos).
Thank You.

Thanks scotte9999! I thought I had checked the all apps list (app drawer) and couldn't find the phone app but I'm going to do the upgrade again and check it out.
Hey bubor, sorry I could not make a reply back "in time" in the other thread, this 2 weeks were crazy for me; I think that the request for logcat from the first build of cm10.2 is now moot. Focal works, wifi works, I have been rocking it with your build (again, dirty flashed 20130828 i live dangeourly but with my backups on the sdcard).
- Feels Barry White smooth.
- Total commander now only sees the internal SDcard by default, I can still access it manually, but it is not "mounting" in the first screen the /mnt/sdcard1 I'm currently trying to google if this is a total commander issue or related to jb 4.3 or cm 10.2. I cant even find a workaround to manually add it, yet. Anyone else using TC and is now missing the external sd in the main screen?
- Made and receive phone calls as usual, used BT for music with my headset, used the in-ear wired too (the original ones). (also I never could figure out what the button on the mic does other than it is context based),
Overall, the things I use and do with it, so far they work great.
Awesome! I thought my glide would be stuck at Android 4.2, thanks for working on this!
I'll be trying this firmware out as soon as possible.

Have you tried to use the bluetooth to transfer files? Like mp3s from the Captivate Glide to another device?

Just one file, that same wednesday, I was at a new client's, I shared him an apk via BT (because the wifi was down) to a Samsung Galaxy Note, no problems at all. Have you had problems with BT file transfer?

No, I ask because I'm planning a trip to Mexico and I need a SIM phone. I already have the Gravity 2 unlocked, but I've always been fascinated with this phone as well as the Galaxy Relay 4G. The Captivate Glide is turning into the little engine that could so I'm keeping an eye on any progress made on the ROM front for this phone.
Or for another $100 I could get a Galaxy S4 I9505 clone and just buy a bluetooth keyboard, but...kinda don't want to go that route (I'd rather get a REAL I9505). Plus the Glide is fairly cheap, under $200 at NewEgg. Its the discontinued phone that...continues.
I am super-curious if & how anyone here is using Link2SD successfully with CM11 (on the Epic 4G, specifically).
I've tried scouring these forums, and the Internet in general, to figure out the best way to get this to work...
But everything that I've tried, it all seems to be working great, only up until the first time that the phone reboots, then it all goes to hell.
I am wondering if there are any extra steps to follow, specifically for the Epic 4G, or any particular pitfalls known to avoid?
That's why I wanted to ask here, specifically to Epic 4G users...
If you are getting Link2SD to work well with CM11, then please chime in here, and can you explain how you got it all set up and working well?
(I feel like this is the one last thing that if I could conquer it, then I could really continue to get a lot of life out of this phone... as it stands, it seems too risky to put much faith in Link2SD, because if the phone happens to spontaneously reboot while I'm out running around, then I'm screwed because so many apps just disappear, and then it's a pain to re-download, re-install, and re-setup each of them...)
Thanks in advance for any help,

I am using Link2SD on my Epic 4G with CM11 with some success. I just did a reboot, and as usual lost any icons that had links created in Link2SD, so I go to the app locker & re-add them to my home screen. This is typical of what happens on a reboot for me. One thing I did notice is that it takes a minute or so for the deleted app icons to show up in the app locker again, so if you are reinstalling them, it may be a matter of waiting for them to show back up. Also on occasion(not this time), Link2SD will prompt me about a problem with the links and then prompt me to reinitiate the partition or something to that affect. Once I do that and it reboots, the app icons are still gone, so I just re-add them. Anyway, I know its not a perfect solution, but with this device its better than running out of RAM. One last thing, needless to say, I only create links for enough apps to free up enough RAM to keep my Epic working properly.
I've finally got a system going that seems to work for me, and so I thought I'd share some things.
I'm on CM11 (as of today, cm-11-20140602-NIGHTLY-epicmtd.zip) and I'm using Link2SD.
HERE'S A "GOTCHA" THAT HAD ME PULLING MY HAIR OUT FOR AT LEAST A DAY OR TWO:
Link2SD was having problems mounting the 2nd partition - it would just say "Mount script cannot be created." or something like that (not a very helpful error message), no matter how many times I rebooted and tried again. What I *finally* figured out (somehow), was that this error was being caused by /system being completely full. When I went and deleted a few things from /system (such as goofy wallpapers or that 'Apollo' app that I never use), then Link2SD was able to successfully create the script, and then I'd reboot and could use the 2nd partition successfully.
It's still a little aggravating that any reboot of the phone will cause all of my "Linked" apps to disappear - I've played with this until I am blue in the face, and have resigned myself to accepting that this is just "how it is" (?) - but I'm now using Titanium Backup as my workaround.
STEPS I TAKE WHEN THE PHONE REBOOTS:
1) Go into Link2Sd and make sure the 2nd partition is usable, otherwise recreate mount scripts (deleting wallpapers/Apollo if necessary)
2) Under Link2SD's "More" menu, perform the following:
a) Clean up the 2nd partition
b) Clean up the dalvik-cache
c) Clear all app caches
3) Restore apps from Titanium Backup
a) starting with Facebook app (the biggest hog) and then immediately go and make Facebook a "Linked" app again
b) restore a few more apps (to internal/phone), then go and shuffle those over to "Linked" apps via Link2SD
c) (repeat step 'b' until all apps are restored and "Linked" via Link2SD
^ This is the only way I've been able to get this to work for me... but now I can put about as many apps on the phone as I'll ever possibly need, and I have to say everything is running pretty smoothly now - but if anyone can see a better way, or how to improve what I'm doing, then I'm all ears... please let me (us) know.
Thanks!
Apex launcher doesn't lose the icons. I can free about 66MB of system space by swapping the launcher, deleting CM wallpapers, live wallpaper and Google keyboard.
I verified link2SD plus was not working properly but free link2SD works as advertised. For me, just installing the plus version will break the working functions of the free version. The free version scripts, links and launcher icons survive reboots. The plus version continually lost mount and wouldn't properly clean up the second partition and was not copying the lib files and placing them in the second partition.
Edit: per the developer's request, after verifying free link2SD was setup and surviving reboots, I added plus link2SD and rebooted: OK so far. Next I linked a file with plus version; OK until reboot. The application was not found except in directories. Dalvik cache cleanup finds the dex link and file in second partition as unneeded files. Had to manually delete all the files and links for the broken application and reinstall it. Also had to uninstall plus link2SD to properly link again. Sent the results back to developer.

Edit: 6/20/2014; link2SD 3.4.8 fixed the reboot issue for the link2SD Plus version for me. Sent email to developer to thank him for the fix.
See post #8.
Update on my last entry:
I emailed the link2SD developer and got a reply asking me to check the plus version again. In my reply back I linked him to this thread.
Another tip to add for nightly flashers that use link2SD and modify the zip prior to flashing: pull the mount script, 11link2SD, found at /system/etc/init.d and move it same location on zip before flashing. If retaining data, ie: dirty flashing; the mount securely retains your apps after flashing new nightly. Just checked with free version of link2SD: works.

I'm using link2SD for all minus 16gb internal android device. Here is what i do in epic 4g, currently on CM11 20140523, use 20131209 gapps. I just write the part involved link2sd :
1. Buy atleast 16gb microSD and class 10 is a must, make 2nd partition (usually about 4gb - 6gb) as ext2 - ext4 (depends on the OS).
2. Device rooted, install titanium backup & root explorer 3.1.3 (make sure the root explorer working). Uninstall system apk (one of the launcher, whisper push, terminal emulator (I prefer use better terminal emulator, install as user app), CM filemanager, etc - still more that can be uninstalled for more space in system.
3. install link2SD, pick ext2 - ext4 (depends), dont restart yet. go to setting, uncheck everything then restart.
4. After back to launcher, open root explorer, go to root/data/, check app & dalvik-cache folder, press copy. Go to sdext2 folder, delete lost&found folder (usually there), and paste. So the app & dalvik-cache folder is there now (you could copy data/data folder too if you really want maximum extra space in internal, but in epic 4g i didn't copy data folder because it's enough space).
5. At the sdext2 folder, long press app folder, select "link to this folder", go to root/data/, press "create link" - "yes". Then go to sdext2 folder again, long press dalvik-cache folder, select "link to this folder", go to root/data/, press "create link" - "yes". Do the same if you copy data/data folder to sdext2 folder.
6. Reboot. Done. Then installing others app or restore with titanium backup.
I hope this is useful. Some Screenshot attached.
Hello
Thanks for that solution.
I`m searching for this solution since 1-2 weeks.
I had the same Problem on xcover 2 Link2SD.
Now it`s clear i have installt Link2SD and works perfect for just 3-4 days then i upgrade to Link2SD plus and then it happend like the Threat above.
I`m wondering that Lin2SD works perfectly on CM11 and if you go to Link2SD plus for money and this don`t work.
Free works perfectly and paid work not.
I have go back and everything its fine.
I hope the autor will fix the problem then i go back to plus.
Thank Thanks Thanks works fine!
regards marle.m
Good news! It appears the link2SD version 3.4.8 released today has a bug fix to survive reboots for linked apps when linking with link2SD plus version.
So far, I've only linked one app with plus version enabled and it survived one reboot. Then Ⓘ linked the data folder and rebooted again which also survived the reboot.
Looks like plus version is fully functional; I'll update if it fails some time later.

Finally had a chance to sit down and mess with this...
Yeah! Success! Freeing up space in /system worked.
Next question...Will I have to remove the bloat prior to flashing from now on? ie no more CyanDelta easy flashing
Anyone have any Scripting-Fu to come up with an automated method of stripping out said bloat?
thx sno

I was thinking the gapps could be modified at the updater-script to remove some system bloat. Then remove some bloat from that as well. Most remove their own bloat choices so maybe a diy tut would be more useful?
I agree, the script would make the nightly flashing easier.

Just realized that if using Link2SD Plus to multi link all folders of an app to sdext2 after a clean install is still broken, if using intended method. Apps linked this way are missing after reboot.
Working on a safer suggested method that focuses more on removing apps from Gapps but also removing some other system apps after flashing a nightly that requires no modification of the nightly zip on a computer. Have to focus on linking only a minimum amount of apps with free Link2SD considered less risky to move, like larger stand alone apps, not needed tools.
I've got a working script and method that works but the risks to be avoided need to be detailed along with the tut to script and tool your own modified Gapps that minimizes the flash to flashing the nightly as-is and then flashing a custom Gapps that includes preferred launcher and restore methods.
Removing CMWallpapers, Apollo music and Trebuchet launcher. Substituting blacked out Google play. Replacing removed apps with Apex beta test launcher for test group, blacked out Pandora (these will be installed at /data partition where they can be easily uninstalled or updated) I use my own borrowed wallpaper.
Along with the removed bloat from Gapps, this frees a bit more than 40 MB of system space.

UPDATE: the latest version of Link2SD (3.5.2) has "fixed the bug that causes linked apps disappear on reboot when internal data is linked".
So... if you've also ponied up the buck or two for Link2SD Plus (as I have), then this finally works again like you'd always hoped it would.
I just loaded a bazillion apps back on the phone, and have been able to reboot multiple times without losing them.
The only time I "lost" them for a moment was after flashing to the latest CM11 nightly, but then doing the "Recreate mount scripts" and reboot brought them right back, with no other shenanigans necessary.
(Just wanted to let people know, because this is such a relief to me now....)
HURRAY!
OK I'm trying this again. Reboots are fine as long as I don't select quick or soft reboots; I lose mount, linked apps not installed.
Now need to try the clean install of nightly.

I was experiencing heating and battery issues on this device. I decided to root the device and added a few modifications that seem to have magically cured the problem. The phone now heats less than a samsung device. Seriously major difference.
The phone also got a whole lot faster and smoother.
1. Root Your Phone
This method is from the following link:
U can unroot easily and get OTA Updates and obtain warranty by following instructions in that link. Below is the procedure to root.
1. Download the file update.zip to your PC (because download via browser on phone often is not working properly)
2. Connect your Redmi 1S via USB
3. Copy the file update.zip to the folder 'Computer\HM 1S\Internal storage' (root of internal storage, meaning the top most folder)
4. Disconnect your Redmi 1S properly from USB (use 'Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media' from USB icon in Windows SysTray)
6. Boot into Mi-Recovery (for this launch the Updater app, press the menu/options button and from the menu choose 'Reboot to recovery mode')
7. In the Mi-recovery select and confirm 'English' (or Chinese if you are capable to understand)
8. Select and confirm 'Install update.zip to System', this will take one second
9. Select and confirm 'Reboot'
10. After reboot go to Security -> Permission and activate Root permission
11. Enjoy your rooted Redmi 1S
2. Uninstall unnecessary software
Taken from the following link:

2. Extract the zip file, browse to etc/init.d folder in it and copy the ram manager file to root folder of sd card
3. Use root browser from palystore and copy this file from sd card nad paste it in etc/init.d folder of your phone(not the extracted folder of the zip file)
4. Delete ram_optimize script
I think we have to patch services.jar for ram maanger ot work but i am not sure. Will update with instructions if i do so.
Thats it. Just wait 15 minutes for system to settle down. Additionally you can go to developer otpions and put animation speeds back to normal and reboot one more time. I did this much and all my heating issues are gone! Absolutely no heating even while gaming!!! I didnt even underclock! Its like a magical fix guys!!! I was amazed. The performance has increased phenominally too. MIUI should hire jeeko or exit_only for working on their performance front. I think exit_only made the ever amazing crossbreedor script.
I am also getting great great battery life and speed. I am 100% happy with this phone now. I have noticed in this hsort time that battery charging time has drastically decreased too. Phone doesnt heat much during charging either.
NOTE: If you are still unhappy with battery life or the slight heat, then install No frills CPU from play store and put min frequency to 300 and max frequency to either 1.4 or 1.19 and test. That reduces heating too. Also check apply on boot. Also go to security app in desktop and click on power(the one that has antivirus and cleaner in it) and select default and change cpu mode to power saving and then click ok. Now select apply for default setting. I didnt need this.

You had mention to store in internal root.
While i connect my phone with my system i get the following folders in my phone, Android,Bluetooth, data,DCIM,Document. Inside android two folder in the name of data and obb. Please let me know where i store the "Unrootnative_Redmi1S.zip and the other two file Update.zip and signed_cwm_update_redmi.zip.
I am not installed any game apps and heavy files. For my business purpose added some 6 apps in my phone and out of this i use very limited period. But the charge with 100% in the morning drain to bellow 10% before evening. If i speak more then 10 min feel the heat very much in my ears.
Please help me to solve this issues.
Thanks & Regards,
Saravanan

Put it in that location itself. You dont need to enter any of the folders like android nad bluetooth. Batteryw ill improve tremendously with 5-7 charging cycles. drain to 2, charge to 100% and keep plugged in for half an hour additional

I was experiencing heating and battery issues on this device. I decided to root the device and added a few modifications that seem to have magically cured the problem. The phone now heats less than a samsung device. Seriously major difference.
The phone also got a whole lot faster and smoother.

I have posted this guide on MIUI forums too.
Am not an expert, just put together things that I know. I never tried any other custom OS because I bought this phone with MIUI software features in mind.
I tried patching services.jar but it gave me erros such as all apps crashing if i wiped dalvik cache and newly installed apps seemed to not open. So it has been dropped
Nice

Installing CWM means loss of warranty right????? And also we cant unroot and get OTA updates????? Correct me if m wrong......... And what will happen if i skip CWM step???
great tips
Really the tips you had share with us is working fine.
Yes, the phone can be returned back to stock just by following unroot instructions.
I have updated original post with a better guide and more instructions :good:
I flashed the pure performance script following your instructions and also underclocked the
CPU which helped to reduce heating...but battery life remains as it was..I ran a benchmark after turning back the clock speed to maximum and cpu to high performance in the security app,I get scores lower than stock ROM..
Any thoughts??
And also can you provide a guide to turn back the phone to stock.

In my experience, underclocking doesnt seem to really get rid of heating. Am not sure but I get best experience at 1.6 Ghz itself.
The guide has been updated with a major improvement of ram management with the services.jar patched. Make sure you do that step too. :good:
For me, underclocking does reduce heating...
And about the battery status screenshot you have provided... I get such battery life only when I am sleeping. The battery drops like 1 percent/min with just whatsapp and data on
And I get 416 mb ram in stock ROM without modding..just that it get reduced to around 250mb when I am using my fone..
Your screenshot shows that screen uses less power than android system...in my experience, it is not possible unless you use the phone just for fone calls...as redmi has a 720 p display which definitely uses a lot of power
Can u give us some info about how you use your phone...
And y patch services.jar??

Possibly a stupid question, but in step 6, why do you recommend downloading PurePerformance for CM if we are running stock MIUI 41.1 Rom? Just want to be sure what I'm flashing.
Thanks a lot for the instructions. Few questions from my side if you can help that will be great.
Will I be able to update the phone when a new firmware is released?
What will happen with this workaround once you install an update, do you need to start again from start?
does anyone have patched service.jar and framework.jar for MIUI Global 4.1 ?
because i have dificulty tu run ultimatic jar patcher tool on my win 8 x64 environment
