Hey!
Last might i dropped some water on my Note 2 and today when i tryed to charge it, dosent working. I tryed to connect to PC (mass storage), but no reaction (dont charge and dont connect to pc). The USB OTG is working.
Is there any possibilitie to be the mother board problem and to be irremediable, or is just a microusb problem and i need to change only the mother microusb from the phone?

I searched everywhere but haven't seen this problem. My Sprint Note 2 charges fine in every AC charger I have tried, my OTG cable registers when I plug it into the phone, but no matter what cable or USB port I try on my computer, it isn't recognized at all. No charge light, no system tray notification, no nothing. Every other device I have plugged into my computer is recognized every time.
This is complicated by the fact that I just installed a new motherboard and CPU and I hadn't used USB on my old computer for a while so I don't know if it was working before the upgrade or not. I'm going to try to find another computer to try it on, but does this sound like a bad phone USB port or a computer USB problem?
Never mind. it works on another computer, so it must be a problem with my computer.
Guys I've have had problems with my original micro usb cable, it was not charging my phone anymore so I replaced with another micro usb cable. Now my device charges just fine, but when i plug my phone to computer it doesn't sees it anymore. It was fine 2-3 days ago. Why would that be? I didn't change or do anything. Is it something relevant to usb port pins? Any chance that they might be broken?
Edit: I've just googled about this problem and saw Xperia X10 has a lot of problems about loose usb port. I'm thinking same thing about my Xperia S.
75% loose usb port
sorry
my micro usb cable's port dropped into water, as after 15 min of drying it when to connect it to my cell with my pc, firstly my cell switched off, after switching on it only charges my cell, no mtp mode is coming, no usb degguging is getting on, do anyone knows isnt my cells usb port had gone wrong or my usb cable's one ? plz rply fast !
I would say the copper in your cable is rusty, so data transfer probably couldn't be done since data transfer need more ideal conditions than normal charging

Hey there, two of my micro USB cables just died in a week. I've been using my Samsung cable for like 2 or 3 years without any problem with my Galaxy.
Then I got this Chinaphone and two of my cables died in a week. The Samsung one isn't even charging the phone, it's completely dead. The one that came with the phone is now only charging the phone, but not connecting it to PC. Both cables worked fine for few days, charging and connecting it to a PC.
Not even going to recovery and mounting USB storage is being recognized by the PC.
Is there a possibility that my phone is killing them or what? What should I do?
Edit: Now even the second cable is completely dead.
Hi all!
My computers USB port was broken and it let all the electric through (don't know how to write these thing in english)
I connect my phone to the USB and don't know that.. then my phone only charge through computers usb and pc doesn't even try to recognize it.
Then i connected my microsd cardreader to same usb and i heard "puff" and smelld burning electric.
Phone does not smell like burned or anything. Working just fine.. it only doesn't work with data transfer.
So.. is it possible to fix by myself? like changing the usb dock https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1xvUoMVXXXXaoaXXXq6xXFXXXf/5PCS-For-Xiaomi-Mi-Max-Hexa-Core-6-44-Smartphone-USB-Charging-Port-Dock-Connector-Transfer.jpg
Or is my phone bricked forever and i cant use it through usb cable?
i hope that you all understand my problem, it's hard to write these thing different language
Anyone?
Replacing the usb dock piece will probably fix your problem and isnt very hard to replace and isnt very expensive from aliexpress. I cant post links but if you go to youtube and search "mi max disassembly" it will show you how to take apart the phone and get to the piece. i have taken myn apart before and it isnt very hard at all. Hope this helps
Sorry, it's not clear to me. Is there a problem with the USB port on your phone? Or only a problem with the USB port on your computer?
You may want to try a different USB cable. Sometimes the microUSB adapters can get worn out.
Problem is on the phone. Phone only charge from usb. Settings are ok.
Same usb port broke my Canon also. It has warranty and its fixed now. It was same way broken than my phone.
Computers usb is fixed now.
