anyone have the apk?
That would be nice, trying to remember if I saw it in the Samsung app store.

Now which note are you transfering to?
Your title states Note 8, yet you ask Note 8.0... they are two diff devices, with two diff Androids.
I see a few Note 8 guys are messing up our forum threads with Note 8 questions.
Action memo was never introduced to Kitkat on the Note 8.0.
There are a few action memos plucked from Kitkat versions of phones and ported, but have odd formatting without using framework app settings.
You can modify your build prop to reflect the Kitkat tab and clear your Samsung apps data and cache to use Galaxy Apps to download a copy. Can't say if it will work or format properly to our screen dpi. I did do one update from Samsung so my Action menu is a bit newer than the ones floating around the S2 note II threads.

What is the difference between the 2 applications? can you convert one to another and vice versa?
Why I ask, is that, I just upgraded to a galaxy note 2 and looks like it does not have smemo. So how would I migrate my smemos from my galaxy note to snote in my galaxy note 2.
I did a Kies backup on my note (SGH-I717) and then connected my note 2 (SGH-I317) and did restore only selecting smemo and snote. rebooted my note 2 and nothing in snote, just what was there originally - the samples and all.
If any has any suggestions, I would appreciate it.
Thank you
I used Evernote from my GS3 to my Note2.

so how do you use Evernote to convert smemo to snote in the Note 2.
My problem here is that, there are alot that I have entered as smemos using the spen which I don't have the time to do it in evernote.
Maybe you might have the steps to convert smemo to evernote and from evernote to snote in the Note 2.
Thanks for your reply.

I have neither a Note 1 nor Evernote, but when I open up SNote on my Note 2 and click "Menu | Import", it gives me the options of "Image File (.jpg) | PDF | S Memo". When I select "S Memo" from that list, it then gives me the option of importing from either "Google Docs" or "Evernote". That may be a solution for the second part of your question, converting from Evernote to S Note in the Note 2.
Does S Memo not have an "Export" or "Share via" option either in the main S Memo menu or in individual S Memo files which would permit you to do something similar?
In Note2 Smemo is integrated in SNote, unlike 2 separate apps like Note1.

I have the AT&T Note 1 and comes to rely heavily on the S-Note app. I am ready to purchase the Galaxy Note 8.0 and would like to know how do I SYNC the S-Notes from Note 1 to Note 8.0?
I don't see anything in the Note 1 S-Notes app that resembles "Sync to Samsung" or something like that. What I have is Sync to "Google Docs" or "Evernote".
Also, I don't know if I can do this:
1). Edit an S-Note in Note 1 - let's say the note is called ABC
2). Sync to Google Doc
3). Open S-Note in Note 8.0
4). Sync to Google Doc to get the note ABC
5). Edit ABC in Note 8.0
6). Sync to Google Doc
7). Open and edit ABC in Note 1
Try Folder Sync (https://play.google.com/store/apps/...RrLnRhY2l0LmFuZHJvaWQuZm9sZGVyc3luYy5mdWxsIl0.)
By far, on of the best apps installed on my Note 8 and S4...
Cheers

That is a good idea! I actually use DropSync that does the same thing as Folder Sync.
The file format (.snb) is the SAME for both Note 8.0 and Note 1, right? I.e. Samsung hasn't made changes to the S-Notes apps such that the notes are not backward compatible...
hmmm. not sure about the file formats... Foldersync is different beause you can sync not only to dropbox, but to google drive (as I do) or your NAS for example... it's more complete IMHO...
I have a note 8 and S Note syncs automatically between the S4 and the Note.

I was just fiddling around and when I opened SMemo on the S4 everything from SNote was there. Then I wrote a memo on S4, opened SNote on the Note, refreshed and it was there. Must sync through the Samsung account. :sly:

Ah, that's interesting. I am wondering how good the S-Notes WITHOUT an S-Pen.
I don't use Samsung Account, thought. I actually froze Samsung Apps.
Samsung account is a good thing, tracks your device and let's you remote lock and remote wipe. I still tie everything into Google rather than Samsung but SNote and SMemo are nice for the multi window feature. You can use a regular stylus to handwrite on the Samsung keyboard on the S4. Just not quite as small.

So, I was torn with this issue:
I had a Note 10.1 and REALLY all I wanted was the S Note version from Note 8 (GT-N7000) on my note 10.1. I liked all the features but the one I liked most that was missing from my note 2 was how you can change the background and page ruling independently. I instead got a Note 10.1 2014 edition, but I still like the S Note suite from the GT-N7000 - which is still my favorite iteration of S Note. The new one is ok - but all I wanted was a common template with blue paper and wide ruling. The integrated internet search was nice as well! But it got me thinking...
Could I take the GT-N7000 S Note apk and put it on my Note 10.1 2014 edition? Where would I get it. I looked around and got a zip file -= but there was nothing fruitful resulting from my search. Can I rename that apk and have BOTH the 2014 S Note and the Note 8 versions? I could find uses for both.
I know the screen resolution is different, so I am guessing, it will act wonky, or is there something I can do about that. Can someone point me to resources to this, or how to do it. I have given my note 10.1 2014 a shot but I am missing some features and I want them back. Also PDFs in S Note seemed to work better before, so I would use this for pdfs. A lot of people are missing some of the basic s note features we have come to expect - and I have a note 2. Would the solution be putting a classic version of snote on the tablet we just bought?
As I am a fair novice at this, who wants to learn more - if this is a stupid idea, please tell me why. I am trying to understand. I have gotten other apks from resources that took them from the Note 8 and put them on my phone, and they work well.
Thank you, in kind, for your responses.
I have the 8.0 version running on a rooted Note 2 device
I am currently running the Note 8.0 version on my Note 2.0. It does have some screen resolution issues. My note 2.0 is rooted, and I expect you would need to root your note 10.1 2014 to be able to install an apk like S-note that is tightly integrated into the device. If rooting is something you want to pursue I may be able to the find the thread on xda that will walk you though the install of the note 8.0 version on a rooted device. I have a note 10.1 2014, but I have not yet rooted it out of concern that it may void my warranty.
I had to remove the Note 2 version of Snote from my phone to install the 8.0 version.
If you really just want a different background, I may be able to help you. I'm currently working on a little program that essentially creates a template file (fully customizable) and then injects it into the SNote flow as a standard note with a standard template and custom background. You could accomplish the same thing manually by creating a custom background from an image each time.

I would be interested in this, I can't understand why Samsung have omitted this, they could have even included it as a paid upgrade app.
Helium?
Not sure it will work in this instance

Hi all! I have one question! I love the new SNote app from Note 3 that's now it's on all roms , but I have a Note 8.0 and with this new app I can't sync my notes between my note 2 and 8. So is there a way to have both SNote apps on the note 2. I already tried doing this manually copying the SNote apps from the 4.3 leak but it did not worked. So maybe I'm missing something.
Any way of getting it? I have a rooted note 4 if that helps. Anyone that can help lemme know
+1 I've also been hunting for this. I heavily use S-Note on my Note 10.1 and would like to sync (using FolderSync) to my Note 4 for compatibility with Action Memo (which is now baked into the S-Note v4+ app).
*Edit: @moabizzi - Since you have a rooted Note 4 you should be able to back up the S-Note app using something like Titanium Backup and grab the .apk. Something like this... http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/263876-saving-apk-using-titanium-backup-file.html

Did this work ?
I've been wondering about this as well since Action Memo was merged into SNote on the Note 4. Having Action Memo be an entirely separate app and on the tablet is kind of an annoyance now.
Ill try it tomorrow and report back
@moabizzi Any luck?
I was reading into a bit and realized that it would need a bit more work than just uninstalling the current apk and reinstalling the one from the note 4. it needs SPen functionality which would need those files also deleted from the 10.1 and transfered over from the note 4. anyone on good terms with a dev that could look into it for us?
I took the apk from my note 4 and installed it on my note pro 12.2. No go

Thats what i figured, it needs some system files probably with a modded base to recognize it as a note 4

It will need new S Note apks and some of the system/lib files.

If someone can reference the right files and instructions ill give it a try and see if it works.
Other than that looks like were stuck unless we can get a devs help.
So i went through my system files using titanium back up and these are the five files which jumled out to me to be the ones specific for the SPen and functionality
DigitalPenSDK 4.4.4-N910TUVU1ANJ7*
Direct pen input 4.4.4-N910TUVU1ANJ7
S Note 4.0
Screen write 1.0
SPenKeeper 1.0.79814.158294
I made a backup of these, except SNote 4, if you need em
Impossible we need to wait for 4.4.4 or Lollipop
Hi, i am wondering if you can give a try to port the Mont blanc app from the note 4 to note 2014. I tried to install it, but it is not working.
I think it will be very nice pen style for the s note...
Hi. I'm also looking for new app. However in fact the only thing I need is to stick notes from Action Memo on my desktop. New (Note 4) edition has pin icon, which allows to create those widgets. If you know any other option to gain this functionality - let me know.
so i got some info back from a Developer and pretty much it has to be baked into a ROM. its NOT as easy as flashing the apks and working, the Sys UI has to be modified/adapated to integrate the new Snote/aircommand. I believe this is also the case for the Monte Blanc features in Snote.
Just curious which rom is everyone running? maybe we can ask the dev to take a look at it and donate to him for getting it done.

Hi have you had any luck? I'm on the note 3 and haven 2 10.1's, a 2014 10.1, 2 samsung notebooks and a samsung win 7 tablet- I dont see an updated version available for windows, just the same as the note 3.
Not really. Kinda gave up looking. I contacted a dev and he said he would look into it..... But he said not to hold my breath. Ita tied into the 4.4.4 firmware and our devices would need a rom based on those. Is it possible, yes... But its gonna take work and know how. I for one dont have the know how.
I am on 4.4.4, if I have the app, I can give it a try
