Loosing data connection when turning wifi off - Sony Xperia ZL

Hi everybody!
I'm using 2G network only because 3G network is very poor in my area. When I turn wifi off when leaving home the data connection isn't restored to mobile network. I can't open websites, read mails or something else. I have to turn on flight mode and off again to restore data connection.
Any idea how to solve this problem?

Desire 2G/3G problems with mobile data

I am having issues connecting to mobile data when I switch from 2G to 3G (WCDMA). I can be connected to data via Edge or GPRS on 2G and when I switch to 3G data drops (as expected) while the phone reconnects using 3G but data wont reconnect until I power off and back on again ?
Before you ask, I switch to 2G while at home because the 3G signal is bad and the phone doesnt seem to want to switch down to 2G by itself when there is a really weak 3G signal.
Anyone else have these issues or even better any solutions ?
cheers,
Seedar.

[Q] DATA connectivity problem with ARC

hi people
i'm noticing a problem with my data/edge/3g connection.
it simply stops working at times .. it just shows data being sent but no data received and my internet doesnt work.
This becomes fine after a reboot but again has a problem after a few hours
Is anyone else facing this problem too with Data connectivity ?
Yes, same problem with my german arc.
I am not facing any problem with data connectivity
same problems here, I found that stopping the WIFI and re enabling it is enough to get it back on track but its still a serious issue.
I don't like finding out I am missing e-mails an hour too late.
I only found it happens when I switch from 2G to 3G with data on.
So my work around is to turn data off first before switching between 2G <-> 3G. After that, turn back the data on.
This only happens to me on WIFI, on 3g everything is fine.
I am thinking about flashing the UK build to see if it helps.
I used to have the same problem with my x10. Data just stopped working randomly. I used to have a widget to turn 3g on/off and when the data stopped working, so did the widget. Was strange, and only a reboot solved it.
I have wifi problems,it sleeps after a while,no sleep is selectet.

same here. wifi works fine. til awhile later (evactly how long i didn't notice. will keep track)
After which no matter how i turn off & on wifi, forget the network & re-enter p/w. even off & on my phone. wifi status "connecting.... disconnected....connecting.... disconnected." will drains off a lot of battery if go unnotice.
i found a cumbersome work around... off the arc wifi & reboot modem/router. then can "obtaining ip address". but thing is, all other devices works fine.
so is it arc's fault? since all others can connect to wifi except arc
or
router's fault? i wasn't doing / changing setting on the arc. just reboot router. but wouldn't it be silly to do this everytime i use wifi on the arc?
so still no fix? sometimes it happens to me a few times during an hour...
Guys maybe this will help you out..
Go to wifi settings, press menu button->select advanced->under wifi sleep policy, set as never sleep
If not set the wifi shuts down to save battery.
And wifi is given more priority over 3g or 2g connectivity, so if you have wifi on you may not have proper connectivity to 2g or 3g
Turn on/off airplane mode, if you can't get a data connection. In a german forum some guys discussed about issues with multi-sim-cards, but I guess it is software related.

i changed my number and sim a couple of days back. with the same provider. my arc after being out of signal cant reconnect to the data network. the phone calls work fine. but the data is giving me problems. im still confused as to why this is happening. whenever i activate and deactivate the airplane mode, data connection comes back alive. could it be a problem with my sim or the phone radio?
edit: oh and i also reflashed my phone via sony ericsson update service, the problems still there.

Same problem here. This is really frustrating.
I dialed *#*#4636#*#* then phone info and pressed menu. Then I selected enable data connection (was disabled previously). The data didnt enable then. I went to settings>mobile network and enabled data from there too. Ever since, no disconnections. I dont know if this procedure or the fact that I tried to seat my sim properly worked, but u may try either. Let me know if this works....
Edit2: the above doesnt work.

I inserted my old fat sim and recreated the situation, the data automatically reconnected. The newer sim that's a microsim is causing the problem.

[Q] Grey bars in mobile network at random.

Hi. I'm having this issue, to be honest, a lot more since the 4.2 update. I can be browsing the internet in my phone with the mobile network (tried 2G, 2G/3G and 3G only modes already, no improvement), and then the blue signal bars turn grey. I do not lose the data connection (I still see the H or E), but I lose the internet connectivity, I can't browse the internet nor ping a host/website. The only solution is to turn mobile data off and on, placing the phone on airplane mode and back to normal, or in some cases I have to reboot the device.
I currently have rooted stock takju 4.2.2. What could I do?.

Loosing data connection

Hey everybody!
In the last weeks I often loose my data connection. I only use 2G-Network because 3G isn't available where I live. Sometimes when I pull my ZL out of my pocket, network strength is good, but there's no data type indicator like G or E. I then have to restart my phone, and suddenly I also get data network, and all missed E-mails are shown (via push).
Sms always is possible, with and without data network. I never turn mobile data off, and I don't use battery optimizers like greenify or sonys stamina mode.
Any idea what might cause this or how I could solve the problem myself?

Wifi network not found

Hi.
Since a few weeks I have a strange problem with my Wifi connection.
When I'm at home and turn on Wifi everything works fine for some time and my M9 connects to my Wifi. But after some time (haven't found a rule, sometimes after 1 hour, sometimes after 5 hours, etc) the wifi connection is lost and my network is no longer listed in the list of available networks. It also seems like the list of available networks is getting shorter the longer wifi is turned on.
If I turn of wifi and turn it on again after a few seconds my network is found immediately and the phone connects without any problems.
I'm not 100 percent sure but bluetooth seems to have almost the same problem and the phone no longer connects to my smartwatch until i turn off and on bluetooth. Sometimes it is also ok to turn off and on bluetooth to get my wifi back running.
The problem started to exist on lollipop and is also present on mm. I already did a factory reset but it didn't seem to help.
Anyone experiencing the same problem or has any clue what it could be? Maybe a hardware problem?
Kind regards,
TeQuiLLaXY
Perhaps a router problem ?? Or a service provider issue with WIFI ?
Does the device connect with other WIFI signals other than your primary signal ?
Just a few other areas to check beyond the device that can be overlooked...g

Hi gregsarg, thankfs for your reply.
The router doesn't seems to have a problem since other devices have no problem to connect to it. Service provider has nothing to do with wifi, the phone is not connecting to the wifi it has no problems accessing the internet via wifi when it shows it's connected. Also the connection can be established as soon as i disable and reenable wifi on my phone for about a second.
I don't have access to the other networks that are around my home so I can't check if it connects to other networks, it's just strange that the device does not show my network in the list of available networks after it has lost connection. If I disable and reenable wifi on the phone it immediately shows my wifi in the list of available networks. SSID is not hidden...
Could be hardware related...
And you could RUU back to stock and test again to rule out a software issue...g
