[Q] 3.4 kernel for TW - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Noob question here: How come there is a 3.4 kernel for AOSP but not 3.4 kernel for TouchWiz? Is it because Samsung didn't release drivers and stuff for T-999 so its not possible?
Also, is it possible to port a samsung galaxy s4 ROM to the T-999? Or are the processors too different for that to happen?
Thanks :good:

If I had to guess, I would say due to general instability. CM was great until 3.4.

Try KT747 for the Kernel you are looking for. S4 has a Quad Processor and S3 is Dual. So Roms will be different. There are good Roms for S3 as well. What are you looking for ?

Thank you, i was just wondering why a 3.4 TW kernel wasn't available for the T-999 but a 3.4 kernel was available for the AOSP ROMs. Are there specific reasons there isn't a 3.4 TW kernel isn't available for t-999?
I see that the KT747 kernel is compatible with TW ROMs, but it only lists compatibility with 4.1.1 and 4.1.2. Is it compatible with 4.3 TW ROMs? Also, is the KT747 kernel for TW a 3.4 kernel? or is it 3.0.x?
Thanks!

I believe KT747 for TW is 3.4 Kernel. It is Not compatible with 4.3 TW. There's no newer TW Kernel for the simple reason Samsung has not released the source.

[Q]Eternity kernel work on all ROMs?

Hi, i was wondering if the Eternity custom kernel will work on stock and custom roms. The kernel seems to have various improvements to the CPU and GPU including 1.7GHz overclock. Found here: http://www.eternityproject.eu/topic/48-eternityproject-kernel-34-for-htc-one-x-endeavoru/
Also has anyone used a custom kernel and thought it was better than stock?
Cheers
It will only work on ICS ROMs but an update to JB compatibility is in progress.
Thanks for the answer, i will be happy to wait Looks a good kernel.

first you need a custom kernel then you can overclock grand and i dont think there is a kernel which supports overclocking as you can only overclock grand only in custom roms like cm or other roms

nah overclocking can be done in both custom and stock ROMs you just need a kernel based on CM or based on stock 4.1.2 or 4.2.2
There is one custom kernel available for our grand based on 4.1.2 stock but it is very old and out of development.
So yea, right now overclocking is out of the question for us till we have a better kernel
EDIT :
This is a 4.1.2 based kernel but like I said it wasn't finished and is currently out of development

Yes, you can use the elementalx kernel with those roms, though pacman rom I believe is caf-based, so you will want the caf/cm version of the elementals kernel...paranoid iI think is aosp.
PS, you should get a new keyboard app.

CM based kernel for T80x/70x ?

Hello,
I own a T805 and I am running IronROM with IronKernel.
IronROM is a modified TW stock ROM and IronKernel, a tweakable TW kernel.
There are some CM based custom ROMs available which I want to try, meanwhile also for T805, but I have not seen a single tweakable custom kernel for CM based ROMs
Anybody has seen a tweakable CM based kernel for these devices? that would be so awesome..
regards
