Can anyone make a mk2 modem zip flash file for tw 4.3

At this time there is no way to flash radios(modems) on the tmo S4. You can only flash though Odin, or kies.

What about heimdall? I did,
sudo heimdall flash --MDM modem.bin
but it did not work even though it completed.

This is the only combo that worked. (THEY HAD TO BE done at the SAMETIME!)

Did you have sound issues after flash? I currently have no sound and I have re-wiped as well. Is there a special partition for sound as well. If so which is it?

Flash ONLY the modem.bin and you shouldn't have sound issue.

There's a super hackish way I discovered that works for flashing everything on the M919 but I haven't tried scripting it yet. It totally works though -- I've updated S4 to latest MDL firmware in heimdall without use of Odin at all.
I might just write up a script to guide the process as it requires human intervention at several steps and is a pain.
EDIT: Oh, it's simple. I was already on MDL. Just heimdall flash --MDM modem.bin --no-reboot, hard reboot the phone after flash, run heimdall again to flash but without --no-reboot, and voila.

4.4.2 modem switch
Just want to make sure here. I'm on CM-11-20140210-Snapshot-M3-jfltetmo (T-Mo phone with ATT service) and have the M919UVUFNB4. Im getting network drops and "no service" at home, and intermittently other places.
Rooted, unlocked, don't care about the warranty etc. It's corporate service, so this rom (after lots of testing ROMS) finally was one i can install Lync mobile 2013 and encrypt for my corp email access. Flawlessly operating so far other than that network issue.
I'm seeing that people are flashing modem.bin for the M919 on 4.4.2 but also seeing not to use it unless you are on 4.3 here. So, am curious what modem they flashed and if there was any specific addendum to the instructions they had to follow on a 4.4.2 ROM.
I did try to flash the MK2_NON-HLOS.zip but it didnt change my baseband the first time, so I figured Id rather ask a stupid or already answered q, than have to wipe, flash my ROM yet again.
So if someone could just confirm for me what modem/process they have working with the 4.4.2 I would greatly appreciate it.
Im at work tonight, so if i missed it and the info is already out there, please drop me the link so I can read while I face-palm.

Are you on the new baseband and bootloader? Or just the new baseband?

I'd update to the latest cm nightly. And I'm hoping you didn't update to the 4.4.2 bootloader just the baseband. This is what mine looks like. No data drops, etc.

I havent updated the bootloader purposely since I was on 4.3 And only flashed a handful of custom roms like CM. So I believe i should still be on the 4.3

I stuck with this build because it didnt have any problems encrypting which i needed for mobileiron to report device compliance etc for corp email. Without being sure that the new builds will encrypt without issue, Ill just wait a while and leave it alone so long as I am not getting drops in service at home.
Which ironically after i posted, it didnt do last night. Ill have to test again tonight and see if it does drop again or if it was a fluke. If so, ill be checking bootloader version, (not sure how to yet but research is my friend) and doing some flashing again. YAY TRIAL AND ERROR!!
thanks btw for the response.

[Q] Upgrading from 4.2.2 to custom 4.3/4.4

Ok guys, new to this phone, just came from an xperia z. I've been doing some reading and i'm a little bit lost.
So far I have my phone on 4.2.2, never been updated, and i have it rooted and running clockworkmod as a recovery.
I have a few questions before I do anything, i've been reading about KNOX and i'm a bit confused. Does KNOX come back when you update to a different rom? When I fired up SuperSU for the first time it asked me if I wanted to disable KNOX features, and it did so successfully. My question is, is there anything to look out for before updating?

If you update via OTA, your bootloader will come with a KNOX counter, which cannot be reset at the moment. If you flash anything when you have that, it will trip the counter and your warranty is voided.
I'd suggest flashing a 4.3 or 4.4 rom if you wanna update it, then flash the MK2 modem to get normal signal.

Ok, I do not care about any warranty, I take care of my electronics. Not trying to be rude, but i wanted to clear that up. I know warranty is out the window at this point.
So I can update to just about any rom, but i would have to flash the MK2 modem right after to fix signal problems?
Sorry for so many questions, but i guess I am a bit late getting into the S4 game.
Yes, that's right. Beware of potential issues though, some people have reported the modem didn't stick when they flashed it. It went fine for me and most people, but I just wanna give you a heads up.
And somehow flashing rom with Odin always causes issues for me. TWRW is the best!

I'm not planning on flashing roms through ODIN, just the modem.
So if i flash this now, its SUPPOSED to stick onto the phone even if i fluctuate through different roms?
Also, if i install a rom that says knox-free i would be able to flash it no problem right?
Yes. You only need to flash the modem once. All the custom roms on here are KNOX free, so no worries there.

Great. Thank you for the help! I just flashed the modem and its showing mk2 in the baseband version, so i guess it went through. It had the 4.2.2 bootloader, not the 4.3.
So just to clarify, now that it has this installed I'm free to install any custom rom I want?

I take care of my S4 too, and I still avoid Knox like the plague. I'm sure the next person to own this phone will appreciate it.
Anyway, you might consider installing Mobile Odin from the Play Store. I've flashed a couple roms that caused my baseband to show as unknown and using MO to reflash the MK2 modem was insanely more convenient than using Odin on my PC.

working downgrade!

Ive made a downgrade that brings you from the 4.3 ota to 4.1.1. the downgrade works but it has the 4.3 bootloader. just flash it via odin, then set it up and then you wont have sound or signal. to get that you must flash the modem file and voila it works. if you want toot just flash chainfires root and then flash recovery via odin. i am currently using this downgrade now with working everything. credit goes to santij07 fro his helpful thread

1. flash s3modder.tar via odin
2. set up phone
3. flash cf autoroot via odin
4. flash open recovery or that of your choosing via odin
5. reboot into recovery, flash modem, wipe caches

From the threads I have been reading, NO, you can not unlock using this.
This procedure will allow you to downgrade your ROM to 4.1.1 while leaving you on the 4.3 bootloader. To unlock using the free method you must be on completely stock 4.1.1. Completely stock, including the bootloader, which would be LK3 for the i747, I believe.

Why don't you give it a try and let us know? I think as long as you installed the 4.1.1 modem, you will be able to unlock you phone.
i wasn't able to. i actually traded my s3 for a s3 running 4.1.2 and on that one i just downgraded and then succesfully unlocked that one. sadly i don't have either anymore because the one running 4.1.2 was having speaker issues. i now have a vivid and wish i wouldn't of traded lol.

I was able to downgrade from 4.3 to 4.1.1. I do have a few questions though...
1. S3ModedRom.tar: Is it for the I747 or I747m?
2. Modem file: Is it flashed through TWRP or CWM?
3. How do I go back to 4.3?
Also...for those wondering if you can FREE UNLOCK: NO. I get only a blank service menu
Input on the above questions will be greatly appreciated. Especially the 3rd question

[Q] Where to get the NB4 Bootloader?

Hey Guys,
Just wanted to know if anyone had the NB4 Bootloader.
Yes I know it has KNOX but I want to flash the LTE non-hlos file w/o having sound problems so the bootloader needs to match the modem.
If anyone can direct me to where to get it that would be great!
Cheers!

I had the same issue. I found a few other posts regarding flashing the Modem in Odin and people have suggested to flash that twice in a row. I applied that logic to flashing the firmware and it worked.
Here's what I did in detail:
Downloaded the NB4 4.4.2 rom from sammobile (not the Fenny fixed version)
Put the phone in download mode
Fired up Odin. Picked the rom. UNchecked "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time". Then ran the update.
Once Odin was done flashing, the phone stayed in Download mode, so I manually powered the phone off (press and hold power) and turned it on and made it go into download mode. It'd probably be good to unplug the phone before powering down to avoid the phone trying to get into charge mode. Note: This is an important step. The phone must not boot into anything other than Download mode after you flashed it the first time. If you missed it, you will have to start at the beginning.
Flashed the Rom again, this time with the "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" options on.
I know it takes longer, but there isn't a "bootloader only" option out there, it seems. I did do some research into finding a way to make one, but there is a significant risk to testing it out, so I didn't really want to do that
Hope that helps

here is the seperated files so we can keep from updating the bootloader. so far i have noticed aside from kids mode and download booster that my phone running on att is picking up lte alot better in my home then b4. i use to have to lock the band to lte in my home to use it now it just keeps switching on its own like it should so i would say better signal. as for those who rooted 4.3 then injected root into 4.4 update using mobile odin you should be able to do the same thing with this update.
ok so as for the deodexed version of the rom im running into a snag. the new kernel does not seem to want to work if flashed through recovery. i can flash my deodexed rom but have to either flash another custom kernel or odin the ne6 stock in order to boot

yes the cp slot is the only one that will pick up the .bin i need to reinstall java real quick to get my packager running again for ap slot
ok i have the files transfering back to my laptop so i can upload them to my drive. i have the kernel by itself, the modem by itself, the modem plus non-hlos, then the system-cacheand recovery together once they are uploaded i will begin deodexing
For anyone updating there bootloader, please let me know if the TWRP 4.4 image still works. Thanks.
What's a non-nhlos modem?

they are two seperate files modem.bin and non-hlos im pretty sure its got something to do with encryption but it is part of the modem update. not required to flash that one just put it out there for people that wanted it. for those that want it the main system, cache, and recovery is at 70 percent and am working on the deodexed version

Phone stuck, and won't boot. Possible soft brick?

Alright so my dad just got a S4, and I did the same steps I did when I rooted my S4, except this time it didn't work. I flashed CWM Touch Recovery v6.0.3.2 and flashed the root file via recovery. Now when I reboot it gets to the Samsung Galaxy S4 logo, and just gets stuck. In the corner it says "kernel is not seandroid enforcing". I'm doing my best not to panic, but I could use some help fixing this.
I can:
Get into Recovery
Get into Download Mode
Any tips and advice would be amazing, thank you!
What "root file" did you use? You need to flash the stock firmware and then use Odin to flash CF auto root or something.

No clue. I just assumed it would be the same as mine. I'd make the safe assumption it's 4.4.2 as the android version, as that is what the website is telling me. As far as Baseband I have no clue. Is there anyway I can find out without booting in?
I've actually done this same exact thing about a year ago with my last s4. All I did was flash the latest firmware with odin and start over. The fact that you can get in to recovery and download leads me to believe everything should be fine, except you may lose all you saved data like messages, pics, etc..

That is reassuring. It was an out of the box thing. We charged it, and then he had me do it real quick. Now I just got to find the latest firmware for 4.4.2.

Or which ever you prefer. Just make sure it is for 4.4.2.

Thise instructions are perfectly fine. The only difference is that you are using a newer firmware with a different file name.

Okay, and I should be using Odin 3.09?
Instructions
Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Download Odin v3.09
Extract Odin zip-file
Open Odin v3.09
Reboot phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait a few minutes
I took those instructions from sammobile

Ah alright. Thank you so much for the help! I really appreciate it.
No problem. I'm glad I could help.
Just for future reference, you dont need to hold the HOME button when booting into Download mode or Recovery. Other than that stickboy is right. If you have to, just go on YouTube and find a 4.4.2 root video tut if you feel you need it.

Alright, so this should work to fix the phone though right? I guess lesson learned in this situation: Look to see what Android Version you're running before getting too hasty.
