Rom for daily productivity usage - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

Hello,
I'm using growl v7 at the moment on my galaxy w and it's very smooth (i was really surprised by it), but from time to time, the phone just lags as hell. I'm using the following productivity apps:
- any do
- gmail
- imap account
- outlook app
- swiftkey
I don't have facebook installed and use light browser. I also installed turbo boost.
I don't need the latest version of android, I just want a rom that keeps on running fast with the productivity apps i mentioned. do i have to go back to gingerbread or ics?

I think the lag caused by turbo boost, just try to remove turbo bost

I've been using ICS from long time and didn't face any problem about lag.
I installed apps like
-bbm
-swiftkey
-kakao
-facebook
-gmail
-what's app
-tweetcaster
-any.do
And of course with -greenify-

I'm running OneOfAKind v30 and Hurtsky's kernel REV9 and it's simply flying. I don't mind the somewhat dated UI, cuz now the phone doesn't lag and keeps doing what it's supposed to do. Much better than 4.2.2 and 4.3.1 IMO

I would also choose Stock or CM9 - and if you need the camera often, then there is no way around stock, in my eyes.
Unfortunely the Camera in CM9 is barely ok for daily usage, in my opinion.
If the cam is not much needed, CM9 is a major step in terms of smoothness, although the Stock-ROM's overal performance is solid.
If the decision results in CM9, i would recommend to use the vanilla-version - modded editions are rarely maintained or really testet, and you never know if there will come the one bug that causes you trouble in your producitvy apps / missed phone call.
// edit: Ok, sorry, i had not seen that you already made a decision

It's a matter of preference,
I use CM9 RC2
For Gingerbread, I love the rom Gin2Jellybean
I use cm9 rc 2 with fxp Turbo 1 kernel. Very smooth so far for the most part .

Camera works fine, The only browser related problem I've came across was when I went to youtube.com instead of the app then proceeded to skip a few minutes into the video... then I got a message saying the browser is not responding... other than that it's awesome, one complaint tho. The sound QUALITY is better but the sound VOLUME is lower than the stock GB.

Flashed the rom base again, Flashed the new version gin2jellybean 2.0.8 and lupus sv7 + andrenobooster v0.2. this better, but still the lag in dugeon hunter and modern combat 4.
you know how to improve color quality, and improve the quality of games without losing performance.
obs.: not use chanfire.

There is also a version just for gaming and I recommend over clocking and using Lupus Kernel v7. Also you should use something like Ram Booster which helps a lot.
thanks for the help, will try it later. you guys already flashed to 2.1, as this performance, better than the 2.0.8 ?
Hi, just to give my experience.
Updated 2 days ago gin2jellybean from 1.8.1 to 2.0.8 and the performance in games had lag and frame skipping.
I didn`t at that point flashed the stock firmware, today i tested and flashed again, but this time with the stock first then gin; and voilá the performance is again top notch, namely with games from mame etc.
Just my 2 cents.
delete the andrenobooster, What did was causing lags was andrenobooster Now the games are running without lags !!
the new version 2.1.0 this very good, thank vokal1992 :victory::victory:
Hi.
I'm really like the: Gin2jellybean.
This week the OTA Updater shows a Update.
Everytime I try to apply the update shows this error:
MD5 error - downloaded files invalid
Anyone knows what is this problem?
PS: Sometimes my phone just Reboot, this is normal?

OTA Updater was removed. Do it manually and download from Gin2JB OP.
I think to get best results in gaming you should use a light GB Rom such as DiXperia or NXT 1.3 with Doomkernel.
Thanks for the answer.
But my problem is on daily use.
Sometimes the Facebook or others Apps just close.
But when I'm playing theres no problem (i'm just use emulators of ps1/snes and GBA).

[ROM][V20F][AT&T][P93x][NitroTNT v2.2] Stock-modified ICS [07-23-2013][UPDATE]

AT&T V20F NitroTNT Version 2.2
Based on V20F from HO!NO! (Thanks for all your work) and added Wind Kernel 3.7 ICS.
Additional thanks goes to mattman86, lyfkevin & kronicskillz whose work is also in this.
I made this with the intention making it as close to what AT&T would have done (without the bloat), plus make general improvements to the entire stock experience. One of the things I wanted to address was what some people have referred to as "LAG". I think I have addressed this nicely as version 2 has no perceivable lag. I also wanted to start addressing some of the ugliness (thank you mpsantiago) by restyling the icons to something I find more appealing. I look forward to everyone's feedback.
Status Bar icon changes:
KronicUI Mod....thank you Kronicskillz.....
4G and 4G lte icons made smaller (stock ICS had them way too big)
If you prefer the original system bar icons and theme download the attachment below
In future versions I intend to work on the cosmetics of things like the dialer app.

Thank you, no real development here just lots of experimenting and tweaking. I started this little project because I was never 100% happy with any of the stock versions out there and so this is the end result. Great battery life sleeps very deeply averages about 3% in 10 hrs at idle plus I also tweaked the GPS config file to eliminate my lock issues.

Looks great! just had to tell u this is the exact setup (- your icon/ status bar work) that I have been using since hono's release; even down to the launcher, Google now, wind, etc etc. Great minds think alike eh? Pretty much as close as we can get to a stock lg jellybean rom. That being said I haven't flashed but can pretty safely assume nitrotnt is crazy fast, incredibly stable, and one of the best roms for battery life available. I'm working on a similar cm10.1 based version now until WiFi is fixed on the official jb leak.
Edit: what app do you recommend for overclocking? Specifically the GPU both 2/3d. Also settings like ksm, zram, schedulers etc for best performance? I like to play around to find the best setups for performance, gaming, battery life, heavy usage etc. Thanks again

In regards to an overclocking app I just use no frills as I have no desire to oc the GPU. With that being said you could probably use CPU tuner or something similar. Since it has wind kernel it shouldn't be a problem. In regard to other settings I use what lfkevin has recommended for the ICS version of wind kernel (intellidemand & row) even though for the cm10.1 version he recommends ondemand and cfq. What the differences are I don't know I am still a bit of a newbie. . In regards to zram. I remember HO!NO! a long time ago recommending to not change those settings, but that could have also been in regards to cm9. I hope this helps some. I really am not a developer I just can figure out how to tinker. Best of luck and I hope you enjoy this ROM.

i have a few comments... first of all nice work not bad at all.
2nd i noticed that it runs much smoother with apex launcher.
3rd fyi MHL is verified working on this rom. (due to based on stock nature)
4 is a request, is it possible to add circle with percentage battery icon and the blue data signal icon?, also is it possible to make bluetooth go grey instead of white when not in use, and make it slightly smaller?
not a huge deal but the white is a bit anoying, also would be nice to remove am/pm from status bar as it takes up room and almost nobody needs it
overall good work nice rom

Thank you for the comments. In regards to the launcher, the Optimus UI is just my personal preference but if you want to use Apex just freeze the Optimus launcher after you install Apex so it isn't using any system memory.
In regards to your request it would be as simple as replacing the systemui.apk from HO!NO!'s v20f since I used his ROM as a base for this. As far as the AM/PM that will require modifying XML files in the systemui.apk so that is going to take some more time to work through those. For the Bluetooth it would just be a simple PNG file swap, easy enough. So I will see about providing you a modified file for that. Who knows I even might like it better . Thank you again for the critique.

thanks man, one other thing i noticed is that poweramp is crashing, i haven't figured out if its rom related or not yet, if you feel like it you could install the poweramp trial and tell me if it crashes on your phone, thanks again.
i noticed the bluetooth thing right away cuz i leave mine perma on, since i use my bluetooth stereo in my car and i can't be bothered to turn it off and on every time, i also noticed that leaving it on doesn't consume much power (atleast i dont think it does).
---------- Post added at 09:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:27 AM ----------
just to clarify i want the blue icons from CM cuz i use an all blue theme, icons, background etc, that's why i like the blue data/wifi/battery icons, if it's too much work to change them all though, or if other people dont want it, just don't worry about it i dont want to be too much trouble.
is there a way for me to just mod them on mine? ive never looked into it.
edit ----> i isolated the crash problem i think, it's happening to anything that uses sdcard, so i think my card needs a format.
- update, i can play media files off my sdcard with es file explorer, but not any media player that uses the system media scanner
- update i think the is the fault of an app i used that was suposed to rescan media.
i tried a bunch nothing fixing it so i'm going to do a full wipe and try again, i'm liking this rom though it has potential if i get it all working.
i got the crashing issue after formatting sdcard and full wipe and reinstall, something is amiss in the rom i think.

so the fix for this is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39845686&highlight=poweramp#post39845686
i believe, i no longer have the rom installed but i'm assuming thats it in case anyone else needs it. it's a flashable zip that removes some of the tweaks he did that cause some apps to crash like poweramp
I will have some free time Sunday, I think and will look at incorporating these changes. Never noticed the power amp issue because I don't use but I will try to duplicate. I will also install the fix to make sure it doesn't create other issues before I roll it out in an update. Thanks again for your feedback. I have been using this ROM 100% since I rolled it out and just love it. Just to give you an idea I have never run with a ROM longer than 2 weeks before installing something different and I have had this phone for over a year.

(ROM)(8/11/13)CyanPrimo Google Play Edition V4.1 Xtreme Bass Revision

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:
This ROM will not magically convert your phone into a 2gb RAM Quad-core beast. This is my love of Android since 2.2 Froyo on a 128mb of RAM device. I have learned much from XDA and the many great people here. I'm still learning and always will be. While I learn, I upload my efforts of improving the already great ROM CyanPrimo V3 and adding my own mods. Please. thank Rev17 for his creation and all the great developers we have for all their amazing efforts. Now, on to the fun part
Extra Features:
HTC One Google Play Edition sounds, wallpapers, and audio files for improved music quality + Viper Sound Mod
Performance tweaks to keep our 512mb of RAM seem like plenty
Power Saving tweaks
Increased Touch Screen Sensitiity
Inverted Gapps
CyanogenMod Focal Camera (working at 5MP)
BUGS:
Still have an occasional random reboot
Multitouch?

Viper FAQ:
Q: What is Viper4Android?
A: Viper4Android is a sound mod NOT created by me that I personally have found to give the best sound when partnered with the HTC One Audio files included in this ROM.
Q: What CPU type should I pick for the One V?
A: Cortex A8 with NEON
Q: OHMAHGAWD my music now sounds better than the joyful laughing of children on Christmas and I can't resist having headphones in all the time. What should I do?
A: Just make sure to keep it at a safe volume so your ears don't bleed, thank the original developer 9999999 times, and enjoy the ROM :highfive:
CREDITS:
Awidawad (kernel and basically the base as well as being a great person), Rev17(this is his creation. I've merely adopted it), simonsimons34 (for being generally awesome), and every other developer we have in this amazing community who have done all the hard work for me. Thank them all for the great work.
Im gonna test this out in like 15 mins
Great Rom! Very speedy and the focal camera app is amazing. @McJesus15
Dude this is awesome! Thanks for fixing camera! can't wait to try this out
Is there some way to activate the keyboard that has all of the long press options - not just for the numbers? I thought it was the standard in 4.2.2.

Should be fixed in the next version. Sometimes the multitouch fix breaks data connection and I'd rather have functioning data than multitouch but I should be able to find one that works well.
Thanks for the ROM! Haven't had a random reboots. Very smooth . Only problem is freezing after flashing the ROM . Other than that , great job!
Just ran into my first problem ... Video playback isn't working . Vine or other such media

Alright so that confirms it's a ROM issue. Can I get a logcat for Instagram? Vine I can do, but I have no Instagram account and would rather not make one lol

Will do if it is a major issue but I have a feeling it has something to do with removed apps in the ROM. Was the bug present in the V3 build?

That narrows it down to a removed app. In the next version I'm hoping to have multi touch working, add back the stock downloader app (currently clicking the download in the status bar just cause the browser to FC), and add in some very nice audio stuff I've grabbed. What would the thoughts be on replacing some CyanogenMod/AOSP apps with Google counterparts such as Apollo with Play Music, Browser with Chrome, etc.??
