Factory Reset 4.3 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

I changed my mind. How would I hard reset on my android galaxy s4?
I updated my phone to 4.3 while ago, has lot of issues. So I did the custom rom thing/root and such.
How would I factory reset my phone? Odin doesn't seem to work for me. I can't find reliable 4.3 stock firmware on the internet.
Thanks

What do you mean by factory reset?
It sounds like you want to revert it back to the original state it was in when you bought, which if you've done an update to 4.3 is not a simple factory reset.
Fro stock ROMs you want to look on sammobile.com

The most reliable stock Odin flash Official M919 4.2.2 Galaxy S4 firmware
can be found and downloaded from http://SamMobile.com
You will need to create an account on sammobile to be able to download.
Takes only a minute and it's FREE !!!
Odin works for everyone, if it's not working for you it's due to user error.
You can even download Mobile Odin from the playstore and use that,
Good luck!

You cannot reset the KNOX (at least not yet).
Perhaps at a future date the devs will find a way to do it.
Good luck!

EDIT:
Okay, I rooted it and installed Custom Recovery. Now, how do I remove the, "Kernel is not seandroid enforcing. Set Warranty Bit: kernel"

Boot your Android to 'Download Mode' (Turn off the device. Then Hold Power, Home, and Volume Down button at once. When you feel vibrate, let go the power button, but keep holding home and volume down button. Then you will get the screen, then select volume up).
Then go to Kies, Under Tools, select the second option (I think it's upgrade, below the emgernecy recovery something).
Then enter your Model Name: (Don't know? Find it by taking off your battery and you will see the information. My model is SGH-M919). Then enter your serial number (same place again). Then follow the steps.
Then it should take you 30 minutes. Then boom, you are done. You are on fresh 4.3.

To answer your question, you cannot reset the flash counter from download mode. What did you do to make you think you bricked your phone?

If you want to reset your phone back to factory stock with the counter being at zero, Odin back to ICS (root 66) then use Triangle Away (You can find it somewhere in the forums). Afterwards, check for system update so you could update the firmware to JB or you could just Odin Stock JB.

i tried updating jb it didnt work said failed. I am used triangle away and am now trying ota rootkeeper and i temp am unrooted hoping this works. if it doesnt where do i get stock JB? and do you reccomend a rom?
Don't worry about keeping root. Just reflash SuperUser/SuperSU with CWM/TWRP. If you lose your recovery, reflash it with Odin. Don't use TriangleAway until you're done messing around with the phone.
For roms, if you want TW, I would pick FrostyJB or AeonFluxx. I personally don't use TW roms, but if I did, it would be one of those. I like those two because they don't have a thousand unnecessary mods (imo). The developer's taste will invariably be different than mine. For AOSP, CyanogenMod 10.1, my personal favorite. Been using 10-10.1 for months. All available on these forums. But for reference, stock roms can be found here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=SGH-T999&pcode=TMB&os=1&type=1#firmware or mrRobinson's pre-rooted stock.

[Q] Recovery all stock?

Hey guys, how are you?
Sorry my bad english! But I need your help ...
I recently installed the Rom LiquidSmooth 4.2.2 Android 4.2.2 to test itself, not LiquidSmooth, found it very nice and everything. But back to the factory settings with the stock ROM 4.0.4 and I upgrade by Kies and pff, my phone can not do updates by Kies. Samsung tried my country (Brazil) but they can not support (or paying for and also not aware of devices outside) for my I747 ... I did the emergency recovery firmware and now it's on 4.1.1 but it still remains unrecognized by Kies (NOTE: It is recognized rather as SGH-I747, however, can not do updates or anything, just back of the device; NOTE 2: I bought it at AT & T in the United States and I can not take you there to support). The mesangem is: "Your device does not support firmware upgrade via kies".
After getting well pissed off with this bull****, or my **** (haha) decided to find out what was wrong and found that some of the things LiquidSmooth is still in the system, such as ringtones, facebook layout and stuff ... (Print the end of the topic) .
So I come here asking for help to you, to completely reset it and go back to having all functions and patterns of manufactures, so that in future I can sell it or give it to my mom and she does not get lost as I am today ...
Is there any way I can do this completely and return it to factory defaults?
attempts:
- I went back to stock rom several times and still the same thing;
- I tried the firmware recovery Kies and nothing;
- I tried several tutorials on the internet and nothing.
Can anyone help me?
I literally am going crazy because of it ...
Diego.

How did you go back to stock? You'll get errors from kies and ota updates by remaining rooted.
By the sounds of it it just needs a proper wipe the unroot.
This video will get you back to 100% stock unrooted.

best unroot video ever.
OP, to accompany the video guide, you'll need:
- Triangle Away installed
- The official stock firmware for your device
- Odin installed on your PC
- Your Samsung USB cable, if possible
- Samsung drivers installed on PC

So when I went back to stock:
1. I just flashed a rooted stock firmware in odin
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
(just so I was back on a 4.1.1 stock rom. I didn't want to odin from a custom rom)
2. Then used triangle away
3. Then flashed the stock unrooted 4.0.4 from here in odin
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
(This gets rid of custom recovery)
4. Booted in stock recovery and then did a factory reset because you sometimes get a simple bootloop
5. Rebooted and I was back to stock.
I've noticed sometimes you have to switch the order around some to get it unrooted and the flash counter reset. Triablge away is for right before you unroot. You have to flash a stock .tar rom in odin to get rid of the custom recovery as well. It replaces the system, kernel, and the recovery.

Are you sure you did the steps in the right order ? Kies won't do that unless you are still rooted or have a custom recovery. I
Kies has no use here to be honest but I know some people like to use it to upgrade from time to time or transfer data.
What exactly is the emergency recovery firmware ? (Your name for it might be different than mine)

[Q] HELP I seem to be stuck.....

Good Evening all,
I have a T-mobile Galaxy S3 that was rooted. That I took back to stock and unrooted using Odin and T999UVALEM_T999TMBALEM_T999UVALEM_HOME.tar......I let the phone sit for about 25-30 min and it never really made it past the pulsing SAMSUNG screen. Now I rebooted into Flashing Mode (Odin) and Flashed CF-Auto-Root-d2tmo-d2tmo-sght999.tar, thinking that would help.......however.....I still seem to be stuck.....How do I get myself unstuck? Thanks so much for any help .....

Did you update to 4.3 while you were in stock? If you did that, maybe Knox is causing you these issues, if you havent been in 4.3 in stock, you shouldn't have that issue.
I would suggest flashing 4.1.2 version via odin, after that enter recovery and do a factory reset, after that reboot and it should start properly

I originally went to Stock 4.1.2....then got tried to root the phone thinking that flashing different Rom would fix the issue.....no dice...So I flashed back to the 4.1.2 Stock. Made my way around the block that pops up telling me I need to set it back to user mode and did the OTA update. After the update it was still saying that I was in Factory Mode....and needed to reset it to User Mode.....In did a hard reset and wipe....and it is still there.....I may be able to change it through root explorer but I need to root my phone again.....and I have no idea where a safe place to start would be for that....
@jinx0117
Sounds like your EFS folder might have been erased. You can root the phone and check with a file explore. If you don't have a backup of it, there is no way to recover it.
If you have updated to official 4.3 don't try to downgrade with odin or you will end up with a full brick.

Aroma is buggy, you just have to keep rebooting into recovery and keep trying, it will go. Some say it seems to work better without the usb plugged in.
As for team dirt I believe it is a aosp rom. If it is you will have to edit the updater script in the zip file so it know's your new 4.3 bootloader. META-INF>com>google>android>updater-script. If your on windows I suggest downloading notepad++ to edit the file. Just delete every thing down to where it
say's mount then save the file.
Update: I edited the updater for you https://www.dropbox.com/s/xucl47rh1wxg9rt/updater-script
Just put it in the zip file where I told you above, save and copy it to the zip and flash away.

Note II (n7100) - Constant freezing and rebooting

Hi,
Have a Note II as an alternative phone. Apparently, the phone worked correctly until last month. It started to reboot, not too much, but it happened. Well, I tried to give a solution changing the ROM (when it started with the problem I was in 4.4.2 OmniROM). My first try was with Omega ROM, cause it was my first custom ROM when I bought the phone with 4.1.2 in, but the problem persist (maybe increment the number of reboots-freezes/day) so I changed it again to Android Revolution HD, but it only increment the reboots/freezes.
It seems that it's not a ROM installation problem or something like that, maybe it's a hardware problem, but I would like to hear your opinions about it.
Now the phone have:
TWRP recovery
Rooted
Android Revolution HD
I am thinking on put the stock ROM and bootloader with Odin. What do you think?
Thanks!
Could you enter recovery, format /system /data /cache and flash clean Omni > reboot >reboot to recovery >flash Gapps> reboot and observe without installing any apps. Until it freezes or reboots anyway.
My dad also has note 2,he had the same problem on many different roms.
He had to give it back to repair. They've replaced power button and something else, after that the phone seems normal.

In case of it does not working, if I restore to stock ROM, will it restore the bootloader and recovery automatically too?
My actual bootloader if I am not wrong, is MJ5 bootloader (to fix the WiFi problems with custom ROMs in 4.3).
Thanks!
Edit:

My dad also has note 2,he had the same problem on many different roms.
He had to give it back to repair. They've replaced power button and something else, after that the phone seems normal.

Did you repair it even with custom ROM? Samsung does not accept it, right? Anyway, my phone is not in guarantee time.
Thanks!
Nah, of course I restored it to official 4.1.2 so everything was like new.
If You don't have guarantee, not good

Yes, it will overwrite both bootloader and recovery, unroot and so on. Be careful with KNOX and look for TriangleAway to reset flash status to factory.

If you want to return the phone to service center you mast be careful to maintain KNOX status 0 and Software status: Factory or they may refuse to fix the phone (warranty void by messing with software) - it's not such a big deal here in Europe but in US there are some stupid rules like that. So long as you remain on MJ5 bootloader you should have no problem with KNOX when you flash Samsung firmware but Firmware status: Modified vs Factory require using TriangleAway program to reset specific counters. Find it on Playstore and follow the link there to explanation on how to proceed.

Hi mat9v,
Just fyi, I am from Europe . So this mean that I should check if Firmware status is "Modified" or "Factory" and KNOX = 0. In case of it is "Modified" (most probably right?) or KNOX = 1 or more, I must use TriangleAway to reset the counters.
That's okay, thank you all for your help . I will try and give my feedback asap!

You can't reset KNOX counter if you are on a bootloader newer than MJ5 (it's been tested that on MJ5 you can deal with it by flashing earlier firmware along with older bootloader). More info HERE

To check bootloader install "Info" by Nag from Playstore and look in OS category.
Yes, but it will flash bootloader newer than MJ5 I think (MJ9 if my memory serves me right) and you may not be able to set KNOX to 0. Also you must play with TriangleAway before flashing stock 4.3 because it does not work on stock (root required).
Since you are in Europe, it should not matter too much (according to European law) so if someone makes any heat just say that it a law

Hi again,
My bootloader (Info app) is:
Bootloader: N7100XXDLL7
I think this is the old (4.1.2) right?

Yes, and it is probably the reason for Android Revolution problems. If I remember correctly it is a 4.3 rom and they have compatibility problems with older bootloaders - the results are random reboots and freezes (there is a lot about it in Phoenix rom thread). To comfortably use TW 4.3 rom it's best to update bootloader to MJ5. AOSP roms should not be affected though so I suppose that there was some other cause for this. You can flash 4.1.2 on this bootloader without issue, be mindful to safeguard data from your internal sdcard as you may loose them all.
I would advise testing standard 4.1.2 version and if everything works fine, flashing something new (with MJ5 bootloader for compatibility sake).

Thanks. You suggest to flash 4.1.2 stock from sammobile right? I mean, it should install the same bootloader that I have now.
Thanks again!

Hey mat9v,
I am trying to reset the counter but it still shows "1" (before this, it showed "7"). Do you know why can't get to fully reset it?
Thanks!

To fully reset the counter it has to be done in certain order. I do not remember exactly in which order the sequence of events should proceed but it went something like this:
- run triangle away
- reboot
- enter download mode (odin version)
- flash stock rom
If you reboot even once to custom rom (this I'm certain) or even custom recovery (I think) the triangle away effect will be gone and the count returns to 1 because it detects custom rom/kernel.

Any hope left? Bricked Note 2, Help?

I have a big problem with my Note 2.
It is completely frozen at the Galaxy Note screen when it very first turns on. It also freezes at the rotating circle when I plug it in to the charger.
I can access Download/ODIN Mode. I have tried flashing 4.3 again, Odin succeeded but it changed nothing.
I have tried and can not access recovery mode before/after the 4.3 flash.
I have a feeling I'm completely screwed, buy maybe not? What can I do?
Thanks!

Quickest easiest thing to try is flash (via ODIN) a custom recovery. TWRP or CWM, doesn't matter.

Yes, I tried this too. Did not work.
Also, (I bought this off a friend btw), in download mode it says Knox Warranty Void: 1
what's this mean?

It means Knox security that was implemented detected something it did not like. Like maybe rooting.
Really not to much of a deal since warranty is probably not an option for you since you got it from someone else.
On my phone and not a lot of time. In this forum find a thread by me about getting to MK6 OTA via 4.1.1 stock.
I think it's post #2 that talks about param/tz file. Download that and flash via ODIN
That should work
