This is all i did to get the updates to 15:
I have used Santod040 roms in case i need to go back to pure stock ROM only: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2485319
You will need the odex one to run any OTA . i would download/flash the stock 10 to be sure you get the full firmware to get the 15 update.
then
Get into fastboot and flash the stock recovery you can get below:
You can get it here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/hgzgq84svzahvnv/htconerecovery_signed.img
fastboot flash recovery htconerecovery_signed.img
You can try to update.
That should resolve your problem and you might want to post this kinda stuff under help and troubleshooting since it fits that better.
Good Luck

[Q] Bell Desire Z stok Rom

Hi
I'm desperately looking for any Bell mobility stock 1.34.666.5 or Over.
The camera button is not working so I sent my phone to repair but they send it back because I do not have the right rom that was provided with my phone. I was able to unroot and put back 1.34.666.1 (the only one that is available it seems) but the technical support told me that my phone shipped with 1.34.666.5 and that they can't do anything unless I'm putting back this rom.
I tried getting OTA updates for 1.34.666.1 but it's not available. Minimum rom # to get OTA updates have to be 1.34.666.5
I'm screwed.
Regards
I have a nandroid backup of the stock ROM...it's rooted though.
Will I be able to flash using Clockwork Recovery? I can manage to remove root after flashing, I think.
Yes, flashable via Clockwork.
I'll let you know when I have it uploaded.
...and it's up.
https://xda:[email protected]/_xda/Bell.DZ.Stock.ROOTED.7z
Some notes:
- I only included the system and boot portions of the nandroid backup due to privacy concerns
- As such, you should do a system and boot restore (after a full wipe, of course) under "Advanced Restore"
- As mentioned earlier, this is rooted (so you'll need to unroot)
Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.
Good news, I have been able to return to stock 1.34.666.5. Thank you very much for your backup.
I was thinking going unrooted was to be easy but i'm a little bit stuck.
How can I unroot and put back stock bootloader without flashing a new rom.
If I have to flash a new rom, is there a way to build one based on the backup you provided?
I've look at software update and there's an OTA update available for my phone. I tried to install but because I do not have the right bootloader (I think that's the problem) I'm unable to do the OTA update.
Thanks.

That's good to hear. I'd recommend making your own nandroid backup immediately.
As for the bootloader, you're sure you flashed the ENG HBOOT during the rooting process? If that's the case, I'm not sure where you can find the stock HBOOT...
Yes, I installed the Eng HBoot.
I'm trying now renaming the OTA update.zip, put on the root of sdcard and make recovery to install that update but I got an error about getprop CID?? and the update failed...
Still looking for a solution.
How did you make out Tonkadan? I'm in the same boat. I heard that if you did apply this update that you would not be able to root your phone anymore.
I' still rooted. I'm unable to go back to stock. I'm using cyanogenmod 7 for now but would really want to go back to stock if somone have the official Bell rom over 1.34.666.5.
... Or any way to get OTA updates for RUU 1.34.666.1 that is available on shippedroms.com

[Q] Can I update to Jelly Bean w/ OTA while rooted?

Hello!
The title pretty much says it all! Is it OK to update my One X through an OTA while I'm rooted on ICS?
Thanks :good:
Don't do an OTA update if you have a custom recovery ! As you can see in my thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2043818) you will be stuck on htc boot screen, and if you try some random method that you found on the web like i did, you might have to restore your phone with RUU . Make sure to have a stock recovery and a stock ROM before doing the update. I don't know if you have to relock the bootloader, someone with more experiences should be able to answer this
Root is no problem. You have to be on
Stock rom
Stock kernel
Stock recovery
Bootloader can also stay unlocked.

So I would just need to flash stock recovery.
Thanks :good:

[Q] Updating Firmware

Hi,
So I have a GSM HTC One M8 that is rooted and running a custom rom and recovery.
Due to the 4.4.3 update, I need to update my firmware. From what I have read in the forums, I first had to go back to the stock rom and recovery. Which I did. The nandroid back up process went fine, but the stock recovery wouldn't load up for me. And also, the stock rom is already at the latest 4.4.3!
When I tried to go to settings and check for updates, it says that I already have the latest version installed....
Few questions.
1. Do I need a stock recovery to be able to get the OTA update?
2. Is this the only way to update my firmware?
BTW, my device is S-ON and Unlocked.

Question

Tired of waiting for the MM OTA, I decided to convert my HTC M8 to developer edition.
I've already unlock/root/custom recovery and i got stuck at the s-off. I found out that i need to pay for that and I decided to stop my journey.
Now I'm thinking of flashing a 6.0 MM custom rom based. My question is : What should I do before I flash any custom ROM?
I'm thinking to go back to stock soon and I don't want to mess it up forgeting something.
You need an unlocked bootloader
You need latest lollipop firmware at least when there is no MM firmware yet for your device version - it is a 4.xx.xxx.x firmware
You need to install TWRP 2.8.7.0
You need to install custom ROM (either lollipop or MM base)
Thanks but I think you misunderstand me.
My HTC is already prepared to flash custom rom. I was wondering if i need something to do before i flash my first custom. Something that will help me to go back to stock when i need it.
Make a non-rooted nandroid of your stock ROM. You need it to revert to stock for future OTA or simply back to stock reason.
If you not yet done it, seems it is too late for you because you already root your stock ROM as stated on post #1.
Check my thread link in my signature to see whether there is one non-rooted backup for you.
Yeah, I've already root it
But I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265618.
I think maybe this will help me .
Your thread help me too.
Thanks
Err... that link is for M7 ... don't know whether that helps.

trouble with official update on rooted m9

my m9 has received an android 6 update massage. but after installing, the phone restarts in custom recovery.
please help me how to upgrade my rooted m9 to an official marshmallow. i do not want to upgrade to a custom ROM
excuse me, my English is so weak

Tell us what you have flashed...g
sjmahmoudi. persiangig . com / image / d .jpg
i could not upgrade to marshmallow. i received an OTA upgrade message. i download first part and then a installing confirmation widows appeared and when i confirmed it the phone restarted and boot on custom recovery.
since i am xda new user i can not ad links to my posts. a link to a screenshot of my phone is above this post. i add some SPACES to it so i can post it
In order to upgrade to official MM....you need a stock recovery image...and a stock system image...
Search for...and flash your stock recovery....if that is the only thing you have changed....g

thank you.
i just want to upgrade to android 6.
i know that i can flash custom roms with custom recovery. is it possible for me to download an stock system image and flash it with custom recovery the same way? i do not want to make everything back to its original. i want a rooted android 6 with custom recovery.
-----------------
i had some search. if i upgrade to stock android, then i will have to root my phone again and for that i have to flash a custom recover again. i searched and find out that android revolution custom ROM is a good choice for ones how wants to keep HTC Sense.
thank you for your support.
Check here for possible stock system images and recoveries...
You should be able to flash a stock system backup from this thread...to include recovery....then take your OTA....and flash TWRP afterwards....
Just make sure everything matches your carrier....cid/mid....so the outcome is favorable...g
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3132698
You'll quickly find, if you haven't already, that the latest Android Revolution HD (v20) requires you to have the latest firmware. Flashing it without it will throw your phone into a boot loop.

If he has removed his carrier's bloatware as well as the custom recovery, would he have to flash the system image also?
Or just flash the recovery?
I am asking as many AT&T users often root to remove AT&T bloatware, like I did. I used HTCDev.com to root, and my bootloader is unlocked.

Flashing a stock RUU will guarantee that the system and recovery are completely stock...
The OTA scans the device prior to update and will detect any software that isn't signed or official...
I'd RUU back to stock...then OTA will prompt....and won't get stuck trying to update the system partition...g
