Is there anyway to reset the flash counter through ODIN? I am having boot looping issues
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48129093#post48129093
(really think it is the power button) and need to use ODIN somehow to reset the flash counter. I was able to flash the stock rom but pressing (repeatedly) the power button for 10 mins while it loaded on the stock software. Now I just need to reset the flash counter so I can send it back.
Thanks in advance.

It may be a self extracting archive. So extract it and once extracted open the resulting exe and just click start. It's a special version of Odin with the firmware file already loaded.
maybe your anti virus software is preventing it from doing its self-extracting?
edit: i'm downloading the EXE as well to see if it will extract here, if it does then i'll put the tar on my dropbox for you

Something's not being done right I know for a fact that those one clicks are good. I'd mirror an unzipped copy but I'm in a place where my internet is pitiful and these one-clicks are over 1.1gb when unzipped so it would take all day.
the servers they're on are slow too, tells me like an hour just to download the exe. eh ... I have a Comcast 55mb/11mb connection too.

Switch to a different mirror. Some are slower than others. I recommend the IL mirror(#5)
I am uploading the LJ7 on click return to stock exe (from the link billard412 provided) to my dropbox, I confirmed that double clicking the EXE loads an ODIN screen (when you then plug your phone into the usb port) and then click start - I'll edit this with the link when its done uploading.
you should be able to use an OTA to get to MD4
Here you go:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/u0oktktx7x6uhnh/STOCK_UNROOTED_LJ7_16.exe
you can then do the OTA or root it and use the zip file I posted a link to earlier to do a counter reset and md4 stock.
I hope this gets you to where you need to be.
Good luck
Mirror #5 was able to download correctly and I was able to load the tar onto the phone. No only did it NOT reset the counter it increased it to (2) instead of 1 and now a custom logo comes up?!!!!!
****EDIT*** AFTER I took the battery out and disconnected from the computer it worked!!! No on the counter and everything else is good!
I can not thank you guys enough and love this entire community! Off to hopefully get a new/exchanged phone!
Thanks again!:good::victory:

I would personally go with this method. I never use QBKing's videos, but I'm thinking its the same one he uses.
I'm to lazy to look up the file names but you are either trying to load a .zip into Odin when you need to extract a .tar file, or you are trying to load a .zip file meant to be flashed in recovery instead of Odin.
EDIT: Actually, I used this method. At the time I tried it was by far the easiest I saw. Just download the .zip in that thread, unzip it, load it in Odin, root.

Hello Again. I suggest, if you DO NOT WANT TO BRICK YOUR PHONE, following the video by QBKing77. Also, this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726558 (link) will help you feel at home.
Hello all. I have posted this problem/question before but received no help. So im posting it again. I recently rooted my S3 and installed cyanogenmod and decided I like touchwiz so I decided to unroot it. So I installed triangle away to delete any traces of root and the process was completed nicely. Then I flashed a stock rom that I downloaded online. Then I did a stock factory reset. But it doesnt feel right. There are slight graphics glitches with opening some apps. Like opening facebook messanger will display white and black lines untill it loads up. I tried the whole reinstall thing and no help. There are other similar glitches. Can anyone help me? I want my s3 fully stock like it was straight from att.

I would try another file download location (which you did not specify where you downloaded from). You might also try and redownload and ensure to do an MD5 check. Of course this means factory resetting again and ODIN.
If nothing else, download rooted ROM from Mr.Robinson's post and unroot it. This will keep your flash counter as is.

Follow this thread for downloading stock roms: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1968625. After unzipping most should end with the file name .md5. ODIN will do the md5 check automatically for you. Just pay attention to the prompts.
If you find that this does not work, go here and download rooted rom to be flashed via ODIN. You can then remove root.
If the file is not ODIN flashable with an md5 at the end, look for a long string of digits and letters that should be right by the download. A good example to know what I am talking about is to take a look at the site for rooted stock roms. Notice the md5 under the Old image AT&T file download link. Download and extract this file and follow the directions.

NOTE: The Stock M919UVUEMK2_M919TMBEMK2_M919UVUEMK2_HOME.tar.md5.
Flashing this firmware will Trigger KNOX if it's not already triggered & it might void the warranty.
Here is the direct download link for the stock Odin flash firmware for your phone:
https://www.copy.com/s/OIgoiGFwiV7gZ...MBEMK2_TMB.zip
This is a fast download link. It took me less than 20 minutes to download.
When done downloading extract the TAR MD5 file from the zipfile.
M919UVUEMK2_M919TMBEMK2_M919UVUEMK2_HOME.tar.md5 file.
Don't worry about the MD5 filename extender, Odin will recognize it as a proper TAR.
Put Your Phone Into Download Mode and flash the rom, once the TAR firmware is successfully
flashed, Odin flash the CF-Autoroot TAR file and the TWRP custom recovery TAR file below.
Remember, before Odin flashing anything un-check the auto-reboot in Odin for best results.
When done flashing, reboot the phone after each odin flash by using the power button only.
Download cf-autoroot and odin flash it, but be sure you uncheck the checkmark in odin which says
"auto reboot" before flashing. (unzip cf-autoroot so you get the TAR file which odin needs)
After flashing cf-autoroot use the power button to power off the phone.
Here is the direct download link for cf-autoroot: (unzip cf-autoroot & extract the TAR file for Odin)
http://download.chainfire.eu/328/CF-...mo-sghm919.zip
After that's done you need to odin flash TWRP custom recovery.
Here is the direct download link for TWRP custom recovery TAR file.
http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/jfl...1-jfltetmo.tar
After you are done flashing TWRP the phone should work properly without any further issues.
I would highly suggest that after your phone is working properly make a nandroid backup of the rom in
TWRP recovery before you change any settings, adding/installing or flashing any mods, themes or apps.
Good luck!

If you allow it to flash a new system and user data image then yes.
You basically need a wipe anyways going from MM to Nougat.

You have to necessarily erase the security lock fingerprints, you also have to remove the password lock, you have not any type of security lock, then you have to enable developer options and type USB debugging(This last one I do not know if it is strictly necessary, but just in case)If you have some security lock on your phone, even if you pray, you will not be able to!

Just a thought, can you Odin flash any other version of the official AT&T firmware? Maybe try another version to see if the phone is truly screwed.
Also, have you tried a factory reset on the phone first. Maybe something (anything) loaded on the phone is preventing the Odin flash. I know this shouldn't matter but it's worth a try.
