[Q] Putting in micro sd card - G Pad 8.3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm not sure if there's a thread already for this, but how would I go about mounting a micro sd card. Would it need to be formatted afterwards? Which side should be facing me when the lg g pad 8.3's glass is facing me pointing upwards?

I believe that if you turn the tablet face down, you will insert the SD Card with the writing side facing you and the contacts side away from you.
I put a card in and it worked right away without need for formatting. The card should only insert one way. Push it gently until it stays in.
You can check if it's working by going to Settings>Storage. It should show up there.

pulling out the sd card

hi,
i bought my touch pro2 with an sd micro sandisk card , i cant pull it out ,
how do i do this ?
Similar to a standard sd card, push it in a bit, release and it should pop out enough for you to grab it. Same thing when you insert it back, it should push a bit further then come back and lock.
thats what i thought but it wont go out , should i use more force ?
if you pull it out when its in lock.. you might break the lock..
yeah its annoying...i tried pushing it to pop out and then pull it, it seems like it stuck on something. I had to use tweezers to pull it.

a few questions

good day
a few questions if you don't mind. i have the sprint version and was not sure if i should post my inquiries in the general section...
1) i bought this off ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/RUBBERIZED-H...wItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item414abf348c
it's a hard rubber case for the sprint version. fits well but i noticed that upon turning on the unit, the screen gestures seemed to stop. the auto-rotate worked when i pulled out the keyboard but other functions or icons stopped responding. i couldn't even power it off as the screen asking for the yes or no didn't respond. i then removed the case and everything was back to normal. the back part was causing no problems, it was only the front (for the screen). has anyone experienced the same? now i'm thinking of getting a simple rubber case as i think the hard type is gripping the touch screen too much.
2) on micro sd cards. i have a 16gb which gives me no issues with memory. all the programs and applications are installed in the card as well. if i had another micro sd card which i wanted to use, can i simply copy and paste ALL the program contents (and other related folders/items) on the other micro sd? will this enable all the applications i've installed still run? or do i have to reinstall everything into the other micro sd?
other than those 2, very pleased with my phone. currently using an i-tech a2dp headset and i noticed that the sounds are quite loud...despite the volume on the unit being at 70% only. example, i was playing my tunez and my media player volume was at 70%...and my unit volume wasn't even cranked up...noticed that the sounds were quite loud via bluetooth.
cheers
just answered my first question. it turns out that the screen protector i had on was too wide. instead of simply covering the main screen, it was reaching all the way to both edges where the black borders are. when putting on the case, i think this was making it press on the screen harder. i simply replaced the screen protector with a standard fitting one for the htc pro 2, put the case back on, and presto...all's well.
cheers

Yes, you can simply copy the contents of your SD card over to your PC, put in a new card, format it, and then just copy everything back over to the new one. As long as you maintain the same file structure, everything should run just as it did before.

Glad to help
Make sure you save the copy of the card contents that you put on your PC during the transfer, just in case your card ever craps out and you need to restore

My external SD card is going bonkers

I keep seeing a message saying sd card was suddenly removed, and then it reactivates the SD card and everythings fine, and sooner or later, the cycle keeps repeating.
I saw this happening in the last week or so on my galaxy s3 i had before the note 2, so i know its not the phone and its the card.. but i was wondering what i could do to maybe fix this? I already tried formatting the sd card once, but im thinking maybe this card is permanetely damaged somehow?? Anything I can do to kinda get it to stop acting up or am i out of luck?
If you can backup the contents of your SD card to a PC, try this video...

This is apparently a recurring issue, it happens on my 64gb uhs1 card too, and its a genuine card. I still haven't been able to track down the cause of it, and it's fairly annoying. The card just locks up and ignores commands sent to it and the kernel times out on it and sees it as dead. No actual data loss or anything.
yeah.. i feel like everytime i turn the screen on i see 'preparing SD card'
im thinking it has an effect on battery too.

[Q] SD card unmounting by itself

Hi , wanted to bring up a problem Ive been experiencing with my LG G3 here on the forums.
I have completely stock LG G3 D852 on Kitkat 4.4.2. The problem is this: At random times I will wake my phone up to discover a notification that the SD card has been unmounted. Physically the SD Card is secure and has not been moved or shaken at all.
I will then attempt to go to 'settings' and mount the SD card. At this point the phone notifies that the SD card cannot be mounted or cannot be read.
I have found that by simply restarting the phone, the SD card goes right back to normal with all files fully readable as if nothing ever happened.
My closest understanding about what may be going on is that some apps are writing some sort of backup files to my sd card which are causing some sort of corruption (just a theory) the reason for this is that this phenomena seemed to occur more frequently after doing heavy editing on my desktop visualizer widget, but it may have been simply a coincidence.
The SD Card is a Kingston Ultimate 64GB (Class 10 UHS-I) microSDXC Card, Up to 90MB/s read, 45MB/s write (SDCA10/64GB) which was placed in the phone brand new about the same time the phone was also new and formatted immediately in the LG G3. It has been in use for a little less than three weeks.
My question is, has anyone else experienced anything similar? What are your experiences? Please share below. And has anyone stumbled upon any solutions?

Att h810o camera issues

I take a picture and then i go back to look at it and i cant. It shows up as a gray screen or a grey screen with a white triangle and an exclamation point. Does anyone else have this issue?
Are you saving pictures to your external SD card? I had the same issue when using a generic SD card that wasn't properly formatted. I changed the format using my laptop and it seems to have corrected the issue. For my piece of mind though I decided to save photos to internal storage instead. If you're not saving to an external SD and still have that issue I'm afraid I can't offer any suggestions.
Same issues here. Pictures display fine initially. Later though I'll try to access them and they will be grayed out and marked corrupt. I've reformatted the extsd using the devices format options from the settings menu. I'm going to get a second card to see if this one is corrupted.
