Well it's still an att phone so make sure you don't flash a tmobile bootloader or tmobile Odin package. Flash any rom made for att just add the tmobile apn if your not getting data.

Bell Jellybean on Rogers s3

hey everyone,
recently got a s3 that was with Rogers in Canada
i unlocked it and am using a bell sim card
was wondering if i can flash with odin and install bell's jelly bean,
just to get rid of the Rogers software.
thanks
Sure you can!
The ROM's exactly the same for both carriers in each and every aspect. It's only the bloat that differs.

Does bell actually have less bloat than rogers?
the radio would be different as well, better suited for your carrier

I just want to reduce the bloatware and get better battery life.

^^^Can I just use ODIN if I'm not rooted? Is it mandatory that I wipe cache and do a factory wipe? I've spent so many weeks setting up the device just the way that I like it now. How many carriers are there for the i747M? I just want to make sure that I can easily recover from a soft-brick if necessary.

well go to the development section, visit the stickies there are some Odin stock ROM's. I would wipe, I know it sucks but it's the only way to avoid problems. Once rooted buy titanium backup. I can set my phone back up in about 30 min. Or if you have a custom recovery you can restore just data from a nandroid, I know TWRP will do it. But if you're interested in flashing might as well go all out put a custom recovery on and try out the custom ROM's like mine. Debloated, extra features and good battery life. Just sayin

Oh yeah I forgot about the modem... are we sure there not compatible They are the exact same phone. I have the Rogers version of the I927 and have flash the AT&T modems on it. It was locked to Rogers, I flashed the AT&T odin update to ICS no brick, it even removed the Rogers boot screen. Phone is still recognized as I927r in kies.
To be safe don't flash the Odin version of the Rogers ROM on you I747, The ROM itself is definitely compatible though.
Thanks

This is BS!
When roaming in the US, Bell customers fallback on the AT&T network natively.
Not sure for Telus and Rogers customers though...
And even if, for some reason, our modems don't work in the US, it doesn't mean you can't flash an AT&T modem from the DEV section using Odin (.tar modem file) or a custom recovery (.zip modem file).

Rogers roams on AT&T in the US. I have flashed AT&T based Roms with no issues on my Canadian Rogers SGH-I747M, other than getting some AT&T stuff (like their hotspot manager).
Can the reverse be done without any issues? I'm afraid of bricking the device. I'd want to do the flash via ODIN as it would be easier for me.

Check out these awesome possible combinations :
Bell i747m with Rogers ROM --> OK
Bell i747m with Telus ROM --> OK
Bell i747m with AT&T ROM --> OK
Rogers i747m with Bell ROM --> OK
Rogers i747m with Telus ROM --> OK
Rogers i747m with AT&T ROM --> OK
Telus i747m with AT&T ROM --> OK
Telus i747m with Bell ROM --> OK
Telus i747m with Rogers ROM --> OK
AT&T i747 with Bell ROM --> OK
AT&T i747 with Telus ROM --> OK
AT&T i747 with Rogers ROM --> OK
It's even possible that ROMs from the following providers would work, but I'm not 100% confident :
Koodo
Virgin mobile Canada
Fido
Ain't that cool ?!
P.S.: I take no liability in you bricking your phone in attempting any of the above! lol

Would this re-lock my device (I don't have an AT&T SIM card).

nothing can relock your devices SIM, that occurs on a much deeper level
Is there a consensus that states which stock ROM has the least amount of bloatware?

Canadian T889V - CyanogenMod Question

I have a Note 2 SGH-T889V from Wind.
I've been playing around with a few roms and have been using LiquidSmooth for a while which is pretty good, but I would like to try out CyanogenMod.
Has anyone installed CM on a T889V before? Will it be safe to wipe everything, flash the t0ltetmo nightly from here, and then flash the stock T889V modem from here?
EDIT: Also, I would like to update my CWM from 6.0.1.4 to 6.0.3.0; Do I get the T-Mobile (recovery-clockwork-6.0.3.0-t0ltetmo.img) one or the HSPA+ one? I don't want to use ROM Manager to update it because it says my device is GT-N7105, which it isn't.
You shouldn't have to flash your modem going between ROMs. Searching for T889V and bootloop will in fact tell you it's not that good an idea.
The GT-N7105 is the international LTE Note II. The CWM for it will also work for the other LTE Note II variants, including the T889V. The one thing that does come to mind is that its build.prop will report an N7105 to scripts that check for device prior to flashing. Not usually that big of a deal.

I used this root method: http://galaxynote2root.com/galaxy-note-2-root/how-to-root-galaxy-note-2-easiest-method/
Then, to flash ROMs, I wipe everything, flash the T-Mobile ROM, then the Canadian modem. I have flashed this way around 5 or 6 times without any problems..

Be careful not to flash a T-Mobile radio. I lost my IMEI and had to follow a bunch of complex steps to get it back. I can't put a Wind modem on my phone anymore though.

AT&T Note 3 ROMS on Tmobile version?

Hello,
I have an unlocked Tmobile Note 3 (running on AT&T network) and I would like to know if I could install roms from AT&T version on it? If so, do I need to do anything special for it?
I was just about to post the same question. I am still trying to search for a way to get ISIS working and at the same time not tripping Knox. I think this method may be it. I read some folks on the AT&T forum (AT&T Note 3 running on T-Mobile network) got ISIS working by flashing a T-Mobile based ROM.

Your best bet is go ask in at&t forum. They would have better answers. You will lose WiFi calling

Don't care for Wifi calling as I'm on AT&T network anyway.
Yes the AT&T Roms will work fine. You just need to follow these steps.
1. Backup
2. Wipe
3. Install AT&T ROM
4. Install T-MO n900t TW kernel of choice
5. Install n900t NFC/WIFI fix zip (this is necessary for international ROMs to work so I assume you need it for ATT also. I did it and it works fine for me) FOUND HERE

Honestly, KNOXRAID was the best one...but that got shut down due to some drama. Not sure if the download files are still available but that's what I was running. I've heard good things about the BOBCATROM port too, but that was uploaded by the same guy so I dont know if the links are there still. I think you can try any of those safely. You have to be careful on the international ROMs though because if you don't download the right ones for your phone it will wipe your internal memory (PITA).
I also edited my first post to include a link for the NFC / WIFI fix.
Thanks you for the help. I just installed the Tmobile version of the Hyperdrive rom and will give it few days before I try the AT&T ones.

You can flash Sprint roms, but the ones that are NOT unified builds, you may have recovery errors until you remove asserts from the rom.

basically, the phones, as stock, are the same, except for the modem. like mk3 for Sprint, and mk7 for Boost. I would say you could, having to remove asserts from the rom going to Sprint phone. You may have MMS and APN issues as well.

You can flash Sprint to Boost/VM and vice versa with MK3 and MK5, with no need to change or remove anything. Just flash back and forth at will. Some may require a wifi fix, which is basically just the stock kernel repacked, but other than that, and the carrier bloat and tagging, they are 100% interchangeable

You can't run a verizon rom on a t mobile phone since they use different radios. Verizon phones have CDMA and t mobile uses

I run may tmobile roms on my samsung s3 and s4 when I was with ATT. The only difference is wifi calling may not be baked in since ATT doesn't have it and your build. Prop will label the phone as a different version but that won't affect anything. You can edit that if it bothers you. I never had to flash a different modem either. Unless I wanted a specific one.

the verizon g2 had dual radio which is why this would work, however the g3 has only one.
