Had mine for about a month. No battery issues, no sudden death. The battery life it great. Just make sure location is off when not using GPS. Performance is really good with games, watching videos etc. When gaming the phone heats up a bit on the back, probably due to heavier processing. Really like this phone. I have a s3 for work, by comparison the zl is much better. On fw 4.2.2

I have the stock remote app working on three devices perfectly
I would suggest not to buy Xperia ZL instead go for LG G2. I myself own Xperia ZL and that is why let me give you some cons
1. Very bad display. Washed out colours. I compared it to s4 and g2 and my screen is not even near to them
2. Camera gives average details and colours compared to note 2, note 3 and lg g2
3. Older generation processor. I played The Dark Knight Rises and it was like i cook food on it after some time. and i even experienced little lag after every few minutes.
4. Microphone problems arise in many handsets.
I replaced my handset whose microphone stopped working after 6 months. Even my friend with Xperia ZR started to give same problem now.
And with replaced one now i am have display issues which sometimes goes black for like a minute.
I suggest better buy lg g2
And yes in my old handset there was problem in IR Blaster in learning signals though its not there in new one

About full-hd displays these are just battery suckers above all if display is not good being 1080p is of no use :/
Also i forgot to discuss that ZL MTP transfer speed is 4-5 times less than that of note 2 as tested by me though both are USB 2.0

MSM7227 Snapdragon processor (I assume 1 gHz max)
3.5 inch screen
3.2 MP camera
1500 mAh battery
Launching on JB (E dual will launch on ICS with JB update coming after. Thank you Felimenta97)
But there are no standout features except for possibly the dual SIM which was featured on another Xperia phone this year (Xperia tipo I think). If anyone wants to add on to the list feel free to do so.

Well, not anymore (in terms of specs, at least). E and J were the last very low end phone of their line. Now is just medium to high end. They want to be a premium company. Even their "low end" phones are gonna be medium ones. Wait for a event soon... (Not sure when, as looks like they won't be at MWC).
and still they decide to release FF OS for this particular device!

And I had Dell Strek 5, Mot.Millestone...
Dev on xda constantly making better and better custom roms.
The phone is fast, it has great screen ( on some custom roms - Bravia Engine 2, on stock ICS Bravia Engine 1).
Don't be concerned couse there is no card slot, You'll have enough memory for everything.

Thing is that I owned Samsung Galaxy S2 before. It's 4.3" and dual-core as well. OK, resolution was lower and CPU clocked at 1.2 Ghz, but It can't cause that much of a difference and it lasted till evening of second day without a problem. So battery life of SXS was a shock for me.

Hello all,
I'm curious to see what you guys are doing with the fact that @arco68 is switching to the S4 Mini. I planned to switch device next January, mainly because it's my birthday then, and I got some money to spend. The first phone that came to my mind was the next Nexus: I really like the support and ROMs available for my Nexus 7. But the problem is that the Nexus 7 community is such a big mess, after 4 months I still don't recognize names like here. So that gives me two other options: buying the S4 Mini to get @arco68 great development, or take another less popular device but get the risk of getting no CM and stick with the awfull skin given by the manufacturer.
I'd really like to see you guys opinion on this
- Jasper
EDIT: If you're using Tapatalk to view this tread, you may have to open it in the browser to see the poll.
I'll definitely go with S4 mini

Sent from my CM10.1 Wonder using xda premium
I don't know but if I have the money I'll go to s4mini. I think with arco68, there's no need to go for a high-end device. The things arco has done with the galaxy w is surely overwhelming and surely s4mini will be the same should he choose to develop for the phone.
Although a sony midrange is a possibility for me too. Sony devices most likely never hits the low activity forums/legacy and the attention from other rom makers is a good thing to consider.

Well, somehow it's stuck in my head that I need a Phone with a bigger screen :x
The SGW was my very first Smartphone. Now you could nearly call it my best friend or my personal agent xD
So I would consider myself as a "heavy user", therefore I'm thinking of buying a high-end-smartphone, like the SGS, the Sony Xperia Z or the Galaxy Nexus =/
But theres more than a year to go until I can change my provider, so I will keep my SGW for a while and look around what the market will bring
SG Nexus? Maybe, but there maybe a new Nexus device, so I'll wait.
S4/S4 Mini? Not my priority.
Xperia Z? I'll see if I can afford that one.. I also wait for ZR version.
Xperia L? Maybe?
I'll absolutely stay away from HTC and LG. But who knows if there is a new, revolutionary version?
No, I wasn't sending this from my computer.
Time will tell, but for now the SGW still suits my needs. It´s still a phone and a tool, nothing more. Neither a life companion like for some babys here who can´t find a partner and are having no friends, nor anything I need to survive. It´s still good to call my wife who is my life companion and for surviving in the Amazone jungle I prefer a swiss pocket knife rather than a phone without connection

I agree with you sir,
for a moments I'll stick to this phone. My daily use is just phone, sms and some chat. not really do gaming. So I still satisfied with this phone. I'm not used to change phone too often, i usually change when my phone can't working well again. or i have more budget, then i will give my phone to my family.
the main reason is surely the budget, if we have more money, sure we will change phone more often.
If i got the bucks, S4 mini. Otherwise, Motorola Atrix....

My SGW feels so outdated in comparision with my tablet...
The battery is draining like hell, and performance is awfull.
Since it will take some months till I got the money to buy a new phone, I don't think it will be the S4 Mini. That time it will be an outdated thing. And I won't let that happen thrice.

Well.. I'm Not A Fan Of The 5" Screen !
So I Was Thinking That My Next Phone Might Be Xperia ZR (4.55") ,, But Now.. I'm Really Thinking Of The Galaxy S IV Mini
Currently using Galaxy Tab 2 for gaming, and hell it runs a lot of games that Galaxy W can't or have problem with like M.U.S.E, Ku Shroud of Morrigan, Castle Master 3D, etc. Currently aiming to buy Galaxy S4, maybe at the end of this year.
I would love the SGS 4 Mini, and not just for arco's development, but mainly for me. I really like that device. But with a 350-400EUR price tag....I think I'm going to stick with the Galaxy W until the price drops down a little.

My mum has it. As you can probably see from the bottom. Its not all snappy i'd say, firstly, MIUI, its holding so much ram that rite now with xda, i have ony 568mb of ram free. For a device with 2 gb of ram, meh, could be better. Asphalt 8 also fails on me. It force close in a second of a starting race. About the Hongmi 1S, I'll see the price if its comparable to the Moto G in terms of everything really

talk about functionality......acer liquid s2 is another phone with good spec.
is a bit more expensive but affordable, i think it cost lesser than most flagship phones.

phablet combination of phone n tablet.
its not too small or too large. :good:
wonder screen is too small, i dun really to surf web on it.
after long staring at it, eyes went blurry....so i want to get something with 5~6 inches screen.
maybe 5.5" will be just nice.
