Open video from network in Root Explorer - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Every time I try to open a video on my phone from a PC in my network, Root Explorer tries to download it. In ES File Explorer I was able to play a video... How can I do this in Root Explorer?

Anyone?

EStrongs File Explorer is working for me, but for me its better to use DLNA.
use gmote .. it rocks
I use cifs manager to mount network shares and just browse them with the "My Files" app or Root explorer. You need to find a cifs.ko file that works with your phone though.

+1 for Estrongs.
I haven't managed to play video files through that route yet (always get unplayable error in the player) but its not that big of a deal. Its really cool to move stuff by wifi so easily, and it works both ways. Much happy.

[Q] ES Remote File Manager Owner Permissions

Hey, does anyone know if it's possible to grant ownership permissions to a remote access point (FTP engine on my PC) with ES Remote File Explorer? I'm trying to copy files from root that I can access locally on my phone but when the FTP attempts to access them, the phone kicks me out and reboots.
Thanks,
Zen

File Manager

What is the best file manager, where I can look at all my files on my SD card - and also delete them without connecting up to a PC?
Also trying to delete that stupid Elysium trailer.
What is the best app?
Thanks.

Total Commander, ESFile Explorer and Solid Explorer are amongst best android file explorers.
file manager
root explorer, root access is required, it help u to explore all of file in external/internal memory and ex-sdcard
it can work fine without root access but cant del file in internal memory. it work fast than every file explorer but ui is very simple
ESFile Explorer for me, rooted required.
Tried Astro and ES Explorer.
ES is much better, perfect. It lets me delete stuff, and is very slick. Also, no adverts (that I seen) unlike Astro.
Thanks.
I can not miss the opportunity to plug Total Commander. The Best file manager for Windows and Android.
The crazy bastards even support Windows 3.11 .

ES File eplorer root access

I'm running on a rooted Z1C.
I already changed the settings so I can write on my sdcard.
I'm using ES File explorer,
in settings click on root and
mount everything I can see as R/W (/, /system, /mnt/idd, lta-label)
but I still can't write anything to /system or /system/etc.
I always get permission denied when copying a file.
I was able to do it with root explorer so now I'm still wondering why ES File explorer 3.1.6 can't do it.
How to solve this for ES File explorer?
I like to use only one file manager for those tasks.

Have you installed this app? I use ES File Explorer 3.1.6 on KitKat and I can copy or rename files to external SD.
Make sure you granted root access in your superSU or superuser app to es file explorer. It is working for me.
Sent from my D5503 using xda app-developers app

I already installed SDFIX.
SInce supersu 1.99r4 craches sometimes I decided to go back to SuperSU1.94.
But now I always get a message in ES File explorer when I try to set Root; your device does not support this.
When I try once again with Root explorer everything works fine.
So what's going on, do I need anolder version of ES File explorer, is there something wrong with version 3.1.6
If I open up suersu I can see ES File explorer in the list, do I need to specify a specific user for it?

I'm using 3.1.6 aswell. And no, you just need to grant it root access.

problem with root explorer after update in 10.0.6

Hello. I am rooted with magisk. Since I updated to 10.0.6 root explorer doesn't work properly, even it has root permissions. It opens all the folders in the root but when it comes to a file .conf or .txt it opens instantly and then root explorer crashes.. I have tried other root file managers with the same result. For example it opens root-->data-->misc-->wifi-->wpa_supplicant.conf crashes.
