Stock music player crashing ? - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Im on stock rooted 4.3 rogers and everytime I try to go to the playlists section of the stock music player it just crashes. The message music player has stopped pops up for a brief second then dissapears. I tried rebooting, clearing cache, and force stopping it to no avail. Has anyone else experienced this or know anyother way to fix this ?
By the way, I had recently installed viper audio mod and made the neccessary build.prop tweaks however, it didn't work for me so I uninstalled it and reverted the changes. Could I myself or the app have messed up something during this process ?

Google music beta app will not install - Help

I've got an HTC Evo running CyanogenMod 7.0.3.1 and when I try to install the new Google Music Beta app from the market it comes back with "Install Unsuccessful" and then gives me "Package file not signed correctly". I've tried multiple times with no luck, any ideas as to how I might get around this. Thanks in advance!

Unsuccessful, but for "
I'm on a Nexus One and also cannot install, but error says: "Application cannot be installed in the default install location."
I've tried clearing app market cache and unmounting SD card, but no workie.
Any ideas?
Mine installed just fine. I'm running warm 2.2... Not sure what's going on. Any other apps not installing properly?
Other installs working fine
I tried two other apps and they both installed fine. I tried the following remedies, none of which worked. Not sure what to try next...
unmount/remount sd card
airplane mode on/off
soft reset
uninstall app market updates
I'm running stock 2.3.3 on unrooted N1.
i am still waiting on my invite but i hope i dont have any problems on the install
All other apps install fine for me, I just can't get the music beta app to install. I installed the Netflix app today from the market with no problem.

I had an issue installing Google music on cm7 , I narrowed it down to the honeycomb port music apk I had installed. I'd suggest using root explorer and deleting any other music player you have installed.
I was using honeycomb port as well...it installed just fine for me from the market as an update...I had installed honeycomb port as system app maybe that's why it worked with no problems...

Yeah, I installed mine just fine. Don't have an invite, but it will not open at all. Just keeps FC on me. I don't get it. It is a Google app running on a Google OS. However, I am running Virus Gingersense Sense 3.0 so maybe that is the issue.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I finally got it working. I ended up remounting the file system as writeable and deleting the com.android.music.apk file that was there already. It installed fine after i cleared that up.
thanks again!
I got to download with no problems on CM7 7.0.3.1 from the market.

Install Problem: Music Beta
I'm on an unrooted stock N1 running 2.3.4 and Music Beta won't install in the default install location. I have no idea what is going on.
If people are talking about the google 3.0 honeycomb player. I just ran it on virus AB froyo.
Just gotta make sure to rename or delete the com.googlemusic.apk that already exists in system/app (if one already does)
Edit: sorry, i missed that someone already got it fixed.

Suddenly cant download ANYTHING from android market!

The android market just gives me that striped animation anytime I try downloading an app. Have tried clearing the market cache, google framework service cache nothing seems to work! Just the new EU firmware OTA and rooted and removed the bloat apps and downloaded script manager from the market without any problems. Then tried to download a busybox app...thats when the market just stuck on the stripped animation and its been that way with everything else I've tried from the market incuding updates to my apps. Please any help guys??

Done a restart ?
If it does not help: Because you are rooted, you should be able to delete the Android Market. You can get the AndroidMarket.apk from the net and reinstall it(Unknown Sources have to be checked). But before doing something fancy, you should do a BACKUP, with CWM or RZR.

Yeah several restarts. Just got an update, it appears the youtube app also gets stuck with the rotating circle...cant load the video. Cant help but assume these are related. And also I've tried this on both wifi and 3G, same.

This is strange indeed. If even the solution above doesn't help, I would recommend you to flash you ROM via ODIN. Usually it should replace the missing files, so this could work. Do a Backup as mentioned above.
BTW: But generally your internet works? (via Browser)

Yes my internet works fine. I actually cant do anything requiring a usb cable since I lost mine and wont be getting a new one till the weekend maybe. I actually tried some other things like clearing the cache partition in recovery (stock) and logging out of gTalk and relogging in which solved similar problems for people online. Just seems everything is fine...except the market cant connect and download stuff, and youtube cant connect and load videos...I feel its a google account problem surely but dont have a clue what to do. Thanks for your response all the same.
First......Ensure SD Card is properly seated, open phone and make sure of this!!!
Do these :
Settings/Applications/Manage
Applications/All/
Downloads/Clear Data.
Media Storage/Clear Data....

I cant quite explain what happened, but I fixed it. It had to do with a botched backup/uninstall of google books with TB. I tried to back it up but it seemed to just hang up. Then I killed TB in the Task Manager and restarted it. I realised a backup had been made for the older version(1.46) instead of the new version(1.52). Google Books showed up as a system app after my last FW upgrade and I updated it (through the market) but the update made the app unusable(FC everytime I start it). I ignored all that at the time since I didnt use it actually. Tried to remove it yesterday and I guess that set this whole mess in motion. Thanks to all

[Q] CyanogenMod 10 + Slacker

I have been trying to get Slacker Radio to work on CM 10, it seems to work fine on my wireless network at home, but as soon as I go to use it on cell service, it makes me re-login, then when I try to play a station it just takes me back to the login screen, does this happen to anyone else or anyone know how to get it working? I tried contacting Slacker, but they told me they won't help unless I have a stock ROM.
Was it installed by titanium as a backup after you flashed cm10? Sometimes apps mess up when you restore apps to a new rom.
Try uninstalling the rom and then reinstall it to see if it fixes the problem.

It was installed with TiB at first, and I have tried reinstalling from the market, still a no go.
As for the ROM I have tried with 2 different nightlies now, one a clean install and then just a flash over the existing, neither work.

I flash this rom like 10 times and the Samsung music app don't work I says me music app close I wipe the entire rom everytime and nothing the same thing happen to me whit the RSL4 any help

Weird problem with stock music player and Viper4Android.

Hey all.
I have a weird problem with Viper4Android and the stock music player. The stock player does what I need it to, so I'd like to continue using it. However, every time I shut it down, Viper stops working. To get Viper working again, I have to run the "Power & Boost" app in the phone, release some memory, then go back into the music player, and open the EQ, then Viper kicks in again. Is there a way to get Viper to stay on? I've tried the Force start in Viper to no avail, and tried in SuperSU to get Viper to start on Audio. Should I set it to system in SuperSU, or is there another method to get it to start up when I use the music app? It's more annoying than anything, because I can get it to work, but it would be nice if it just kicked in. I've updated Viper to the latest using the "Check for Updates" in Viper, and installed the .apk, but nothing has worked so far.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
So, I've tried a few things, and bricked the phone in the process. Luckily, I was able to sideload the stock firmware back on. What I did was put the V4A app in both the app, and priv-app folders, and the phone bricked. Right now, I have to force stop V4A, then go into the EQ to restart it, before it works. I've used Titanium to freeze MusicEQ, so that's not the problem, and I can't change the permissions on V4A, which is currently installed on the SDCard of the phone.
Okay, so I think I've figured it out on my own. First thing was to delete the stock MusicFX app using Titanium Backup. You could probably freeze it, but I deleted it. Anyways, the problem lied where you disconnect and reconnect the headphones. So, to remedy this, set it to force app on V4A, and set V4A to compatible mode, and reboot the phone. Now, no matter how many times I disconnect the headphones and reconnect them, V4A works right away, without having to go into the Apps setting and force stopping it. Hope that helps someone with similar problems.
Dont use the Stock Music Player's EQ. or disable audio wizard. ( read that somwhere in the forums)
