I never really had the issue so I'm not sure if there's a simple fix but I flashed Team Noname BDP Xperia port rom (one of the few 4.1.x I could get to work) and I like how fast it is but YouTube keeps rebooting my phone
Or possibly some other rom I could try that's fast and 4.1 based, I dont need working cam/4g n stuff since it's just a wifi only device
I have tried a couple flashable fixes but they resulted in it stuck in boot

I don't know if this issue is already known or if it's just me with this problem. I have an HTC Evo and I've tried both Evervolv Roms for Android 2.3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878020 and 2.2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840285. Both Roms have problems with connecting with WiFi automatically, even when connecting manually, and require me to constantly turn the WiFi on and off to connect. Sometimes a reboot is needed on the 2.3 version because the WiFi gets stuck on "turning off". I'm wondering if there's a fix for this or if the developer of Evervolv will fix this in the future. I'm not able to comment on the developer's thread so this is my only way to get the problem out there. Also in the 2.3 version, the application launcher crashes often and requires a reboot each time to get anything to work. Flash Player doesn't seem to work at all (in fact only way i was able to install it was through Titanium-backup, as trying to install it from the market doesn't work) . I've also noticed random reboots on both versions 2.2 and 2.3. I really like the 2.3 Rom but the constant crashes of the app launcher forced me to switch to the 2.2 version and the WiFi problems persist on that as well. (if anyone asks why don't i just try another launcher, it's cause i like stock Android launchers the best )
Welcome!! The 2.3 rom is still beta so issues will be there. Are you using stock kernel? I've used cm roms and know you must change your wifi policy to never sleep. Not 100% sure if that's where your problem lies but its worth checking. Also the aosp roms IMO are still kinda iffy. Most seem very promising and some run very well but all still need alot of work. If it is becoming to big of an issue I'd nandroid backup, completely wipe and format and try a sense based rom, im trying Koni's ELITE and so far, im very impressed. Just a Thought.
Hello iv'e had a similar issue before with a different device
overnight after a sudden crash of the phone itself wifi no longer turned on
it's simply saying that "turning on" but never does
ive tried different roms swell currently on "viperx" and it hapened on "paranoid anrdoid" and tried some variants of CM10 in between aswell
i allways flash the boot.img from the rom zip and using costum kernels just caused a boot loop .
tried to reflash root aswell just to be sure evendough it was working fine before . allso installin gnewest supersu from play store .
no roms even turn wifi on to show any networks not just weak signal .
as i understand the wifi module is mainly controled by the kernel but how can it then stop functioning after a software crash and continue to not work after several kernel reflashes .
would anyone reccomend a "best" kernel for paranoid android scince i really like the tablet mode on most of its apps but with no wifi all roms seam useless
any help appeciated
Tried doing the whole process from start even locking and reunlocking the bootloader .
now latest thing i tried is did a full restore from RUU back to stock and locked bootloader ...
the wifi still wont scan so would this mean it is a HW issue ?/or is there something else to try aswell :crying:
Hi Guys,
Every time I flash gapps package on any aosp based rom my phone becomes unbearably slow,
apps takes a very long time to start and boot takes more than 5 minutes to finish.
I've tried CM10,AOKP,CM10 Endeavor Unleashed and jellybam and all of them seems to have the same issue, also I tried flashing an older gapps version, and flashing many different kernels but nothing seems to fix the issue.
This issue didn't happen on stock based roms like ARHD or Renovate they run very smoothly and without any problem.
its driving me mad and I couldn't find anyway to fix it.
I'm running hboot 1.31 so if anyone could tell me how to fix this issue it would be very appreciated,
Thanks.
Hi there!
I installed
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1912187
with basbeand 77 instead of the recommended ones, and it appeared to work just fine for two days.
Today, I installed the LBE Guard, and so my Desire was stuck in bootloop, which I could get out of after a fullwipe and a new install.
So, then, I installed the LBE privace Master (v4.3.2738),
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1422479
because I read it was okay for JB. While configuring it, my phone crashed, and I was again stuck in a bootloop. I tried to make a fullwipe again, and a new install, but I have still these random (but appearing soon after booting) crashings and then a bootloop. It even appears when I use the Aroma Installer, but not in the CWM.
So my question is - what went wrong and more importantly, how do I get my phone to work again?
Thanks for replying.
The part with the baseband is wrong - that was my other phone.
I am quite the noob-cookie, I also have the problem with random reboots and freezes. I have been messing around with the new Nikez 4.2 Jellybean Rom, i thought that could be the reason why. But now I am also experiencing it with the old Nikez 4.1 Rom that used to be very stable for me. Anyone know a good solution? I have done several full wipes..
Cheers!
Hello there all!
I've been having this issue for a long time.
I've been using the SuperZen ROM, Custom Project T Kernel and official L Speed Mod. Sometimes I got stuck during the device's bootanimation (until this occurred really often). I tried going back to stock kernel and everything went okay, but didn't have the enough time to test some consecutive reboots/power-ons as I did flash my phone again. The issue occured ONCE without the custom kernel, but then reinstalled Prohect T and L Speed Mod.
I am now running Prism Barebone with Project T and L Speed Mod. The issue occurs very often I tried removing L Speed Mod via Emergency_Uninstaller (provided or L Speed official page)...but the issue's still there. I may try a new fresh install by only adding the custom kernel this time, but I did want to ask if anyone experiences this issue as well? I am not sure if it is a hardware issue. Everything was okay with the stock ROM (the actual stock). Please note that my phone was in service ONCE for a screen replacement. I hope that nothing bad happened during that time..
Thank you for any response!
