Flar2 elementalx kernel.
It saids it works like a glitch.
But it doenst really work as it should .it fails everytime u turn power off.
Which if u r doing a car install it doenst work property.
Find another solution, or pray some to code a working kernel for us who needed it.

What version of Android are you running? ElementalX and Glitch work.
I was using glitch on 4.4 however I just upgraded to Cyanogenmod 11 and neither ElementalX or glitch are working yet. Just a matter of time.
On 4.3 I used ElementalX on an older build and glitch on a later build of Cyanogenmod. Worked great. I like to use my Nexus with a USB DAC and OTG charging.
Best by far is Nexus 7 2012 with USBROM with Timur kernel. I have two of those working flawlessly.

THANKS!!!
I tried it, and even pluged it in before a reboot but nothing shows up on screen. I see a little flickering, but nothing else.
Also, are you placing "com.qc.hdmi_out" under "Property Name" or "property Key"?
you may want to add "true" o your directions, they are not specific.
Thank you for your efforts none the less! This is a great step in the right direction. :good:

tried this and it worked. only issue that remains for me is when the MHL cable loses power or is unplugged, the only way to re-initiate the hdmi-out sync is with a reboot of the device. anyone know of a way to manually trigger a resync?
Can anyone post a flashable fix for this, I am at my uncles house and was planning on watching a movie with my cousins and then I realized my jb ROM doesn't have mhl support :/

For me, setting "ro.hdmi.enable=true" does the job. I tried your com.qc.hdmi_out line also, but found that I had difficulty getting consistent results, but devices may differ. ROMs earlier than 10.0.0 Stable often crashed after using HDMI, after pulling out the cable, even though the video worked well up till that point. But recent ROMs seems to be stable for me.
It is a frustration for me that those who (probably) know about the deeper aspects of this issue (why it was never turned on in the default configuration) never comment on it, so those who want it to work spend lots of time fiddling with it. On the teamhacksung site, a statement was made that it will never work because it involves proprietary code, but that was some time ago, so who knows? The fact that it works well seems to suggest that all the needed code is present and functional, so the mystery is why it is never addressed by the developers explicitly, or turned on by default, or have a setting to turn it on as Galaxy S had.

Well in that topic I neglected to read that it is incompatible with CyanogenMod, which is what I was using at the time.
However, and I'm not sure about other AOKPs but task650's 4.2.1 AOKP has the option to change it between screen on, screen off, and screen unlocked. I was having other issues with that ROM, however.

Gonna try that when I get home. Also PA made it to this device. Also the Jedi mind trick Roms. So many options. Wow head's spinning.
Leaning towards CM10.1 though.
No signal, can't play video
I was using CM10.0. Updated CM10.1 with corresponding gapp.
-Can't register on cellular network anymore. Can't set AWS frequency in the factory testing mode.
-All of my Video apps start legging, play videos for a little while and quit after about a minute, say video format not supported. Even though the video is mp4 format and it was playing it before quitting.
How should fix it? Flash kernel? Which kernel should I use?

Thanks that did the trick. I was going mad at why the LED notifications stopped working.
Also still on the non-touch recovery, 5.0.26 the one that needs the Darkmod scripts to wipe cache and do full installs.
Also had to turn sensor on/off before it actually worked. Read that from another post from someone that helped me.
Thanks again dude.

Kernel question

The past week I have been away from WiFi and noticed that my phone will disconnect from the network and not reconnect. It seems to happen randomly. I am on the latest xenon HD for toro plus.
If I flash a different kernel would it help fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated

Look at kmsg/dmesg and logcat to try and see whats happening, forward those logs to your ROM dev. Try to give something back.
I don't have access to a computer to do a log cat. Why I'm asking because I can down load stuff from WiFi to fix it.

You are rooted... At least you can get kmsg.
At the very least, you need to work on the description of your issue - "I have been away from WiFi" doesn't tell me anything.
So, what are you having issues with? Mobile network stability?
Check your bootloader/radio, RIL/baseband combos (you should be on whatever latest bootloader version there is, RIL/baseband must match)
Does the kernel you use alter stock voltages? Make sure SR (smart reflex) is active and try again. If SR is already on, try to disable it, and work on the voltages yourself, although I'm not sure you will be able to troubleshoot all this with your current knowledge (estimated from the way you opened this thread). This is the only way kernel may be afecting anything here.
RIL/baseband are kernel independent.
It's not good principle if something's broken/not working already, to start flashing more stuff on top of it - look around you: does anyone on that ROM thread experiences the same issue recently, or is it just you?

Just went back to cm 10.0 and it's all working. Something in the newer versions that aren't "meant" for our phone is breaking BT.
Edit: CM 10.0 works better meaning I can actually turn it on but need to restart once turned off to turn it back on. It's hit or miss.
Edit2: Tried the "fix" on 10.1.2 (4.2.2) stable and it did not work.
Same Issue
The only rom Ive had good luck with was the 4.1 Carbon. And as stated it was a hit and miss deal, restarts were iffy. However I've had no luck with the "fix" on 10.1 stable either

The ONLY roms I've used with everything working inc BT were the 4.1.2 NON CM based touchwiz roms. Jedi and infamous as an example. THey have their other minor issues but the basics work.
What is the Bluetooth problem? I'm very curious. I did have an issue with Bluetooth on CM 10.1.2. The problem was that if I was in my car and I had Bluetooth enabled if I forgot to turn of the Bluetooth on the phone before shutting of my car, I couldn't re-enable it without rebooting the phone. Is that the problem you are referring to?
If so, I solved it on my phone. Under the Bluetooth settings I simply set it to be visible only to paired devices and set the Visibility Timeout to Never time out.
Hope this helps.
What happens to me is that I'll use BT n everything is good then it just stops working.. It pretty much turns off by its self and when I try to turn it back on it does nothing i turn it on then turns right off.. Need to reboot for it to work again.. I just wish there was a fix for this..

I'm waiting a little to try 4.3 anything until there is an official stable release. How is battery life on 4.3 Hellybean? I get about 16 hours a day on my CM 10.1.2 before I turn it off and charge it overnight. When I turn it off I have about 30% battery left. Is 4.3 Hellybean that good?

I'll just deal with it til it goes more stable.. It just sucks that The CM team left this untouched n made something stable without fixing something so important to a lot of users..
