[Q] HTC One X Revert Back to Stock Reovery - HTC One X

Hi,
I have installed philz recovery on my International HTC One X, phone. Now I can't get OTA updates, infact they are downloaded but failed to update. Its due to custom recovery. Can anybody tell me how I can revert back to stock recovery so that I can get OTA updates.

Lock your bootloader with the command fastboot oem lock and run this RUU. After you install the RUU, Update from phone setting to latest JB 4.2.2.

Hi,
I too am facing the same issue, the OTA notification pops up and once I try to install it then it breaks after reboot and the same red sign appears.
I believe the package downloaded has some assertions on the build.prop file where its not matching some entries.
Can anybody advice on this?
Thanks,
Mano
This usually happens when the OTA is unable to patch some files.
The best way to ensure a successful OTA update, reflash your phone with the latest RUU to ensure all apps and system files are in device.
So for 2.17.707.3, run the 2.17.707.3 RUU then do OTA update to 3.14.707.24
OR as there is leaked RUU for 3.14.707.24, you can try to run the RUU without a need of OTA update.
When you want to update the phone with a official OTA you have 2 options :
Update with a rom :
Stock rom
Stock recovery
Stock kernel (boot.img)
Bootloader can stay unlocked !
Flash a RUU that's compatible with your CID and main version and only lock the bootloader !

How did you install the ota if you wasn't stock? Have you tried clearing cache in fastboot or factory reset?
Id of said find the correct Ruu for your cid and relock your bootloader and then run Ruu while in fastboot to get it back to stock. If that's your current Hboot, then it hasn't updated to Jellybean.
You can't update from custom with an official ota. Now you have to run the old ICS ruu, then install all the otas until you reach the JB ota
ahh i see. so what is the best solution to get JB rom then?
1.
relock, change hboot and install a custom JB rom?
2.
relock and install proper ICS ROM and then do a OTA update on that?

Id of said 2. Find the correct Ruu for your phone and then relock bootloader and put it into fastboot. It should run Ruu then and you will be completely stock and ready for OTA.

[q] htc one x: Jelly bean update issue!

I resetted my phone to stock sense using a nandroid backup, flashed stock recovery and relocked my bootloader so that i could receive the official OTA update to jelly bean, the OTA update downloaded successfully but when the phone rebooted to install the update it booted into the bootloader and did not install the update. i tried to install the update several times but the same thing kept happening.
my CID: H3G_001
my hboot: 1.12.0000
my version main: 2.17.771.3
I am on the three network in the uk
could anyone help me with this problem/ help me install the jelly bean update? (I want the official OTA update so that i can update my hboot and flash cm10)
Sure you got the right stock recovery on ? Which one did you flash ?
Other option :
Relock the bootloader :
Fastboot oem lock
Keep the phone in the bootloader and run this file from the pc and let the phone be flashed to stock. Right click the ruu and select :
Run as administrator

[Q] [Unroot] Stock Kernel?

I have to sent my phone to HTC (doesn't read sim card) So I have to unroot my phone.
Before I flashed an other ROM I made a Nandroid backup. So to unroot I used this tutorial:
http://theunlockr.com/2014/06/08/how-to-unroot-the-htc-one-m8-video/
I locked the boot loader with this tutorial.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708571
So I'm close to stock. S-ON, Bootloader is locked (instead of re-locked), stock ROM from NANdroid backup.
But Kernel version still says:
3.4.0-g16cd293
[email protected]#1
SMP PREEMPT
So I think I have to fix this. But I'm stuck at this one.
cid: VODAPE17
Android Version: 4.4.2
HTC Sense: 6.0
Softwarenumber: 1.54.161.10
HTC SDK API: 6.17
Smallband: 1.15.2133156.UA13G_20.18m.4096.04L
Build: 1.54.161.10 CL325784 release-keys
This has got nothing to do with development, not even close. I suppose you've just posted the topic by accident here?
I think you just need to lose root?
Unroot your device and flash the stock recovery.

You're right. I created a new post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/unroot-stock-kernel-t2911271
Maybe a mod can close or remove this one?
