So... I'm on Trinity's 3.5 Rom with his kernel 5.7. Genarally I'm satisfied with it BUT (always there is but There are some issues I don't like and just don't have time to search solutions for them or they are to complicated for newbie like me.
I'was hoping if there is some enthusiast who has tried more available roms (except trinity's)/kernels for this device to share with me and all other people here which Rom/kernel was or still is best for him/her.
Things I want are stability, camera, no lags or fc's.
Thanks to all.
STOCK GB has all of that but a lack of features
But ICS Has more features but some lag and one or two bugs
Letamas works are good but they have some majour bugs, aka no heavy gaming and hdmi doesnt work
V9 of my ACP rom, im trying to clean every thing up, try if you need
I suggest trying out roms, your not going to get what you want so you might as well find the next best
I would suggest The combo eXistenZ Ultra 1.3.5 (you need to download the OTA for x.3.5) combined with DoomKernel v6. Works perfectly for me...

what is the most stable, smooth ICS rom ?
Official Sony beta
FXP's currently my daily driver. Use that, because everything about Sony's ROM is garbage IMO.
(I will never get over that keyboard ;-; )
KA11 and Official Sonny ICS beta seem to work good (except the facelock feature.. but for most ppl work.. for me not lol)
use the doomkernel for ics.. both the low and high are good, ppl reported the phone not entering in deep sleep mode if u keep the wifi on, so keep wifi on only when u need it for better battery life. everything else seem to work on both of them.
The official one reboot a loot

+1 to fxp.

IMHO FXP is smoother and less laggy. Also performance in Benchmark seems to be better. BUT it hasn't a good touchpads/gamepad support.

What is The Best Kernel / Rom Combo for Xperia Arc/S where WiFi and WiFi Tethering works completely stable on Jelly Bean?
I have been searching the forums for about a week now and haven't found anything remotely to the question i'm asking. I've seen similar posts about the best Combo's but none which specifically for certain Options within the Rom/Kernel ....
So far I have Tried:
Kernels....
LuPus JB V2-V4
FXP 144-146
Fusion JB
JBV02
Roms....
C.A.M.P.S JB
AOKP Anzu Build 4 & 5
MIUI JB 2.11.2
Jellybean-V02
I hope those list will help that I have been hunting around
I am using JellySandwich 8.2 with Arc Knight kernel, no problems yet and everything works fine that you need

I know about JellySandwich and I have to agree there is no problems whatsoever with JellySandwich but it's Ice Cream Sandwich based Rom with JellyBean goodies I was after a JellyBean Rom that supports with what I need. The unfortunate part is that there is no Official JellyBean Firmware for our devices so we have to hope that a custom can do it. But thanks for your analysis anyways
Arc Fusion 3.9 with FXP 147, only problem I have is gps (doesn't work)
I get 1.5 days in battery life with interactiveX and Sio
Light gaming and surfing the net and facebook
Tethering doesn't work on 147, However you can make it work with 145 with this wifi tether fix
Though I think there were problems with youtube on 145 (me thinks)
I use since few days JB V03 4.1.2 but with Fusion 3.9, and it seems to be good. wifi works great, hotspot also nice. 2g/3g normally.
battery is also good. I use 2g/3g all the time, and the battery works like 1,5-2 days which is good cause every previous rom i had was discharging during a day.

Thank you both for your ideas on Combo's I have tried both Combo's with an unfortunate result ... I should've stated because technically you were both right and Tethering does work. But on both USB Tethering works great no problems. But I unfortunately needed Wi-Fi Tethering which doesn't work on either. On one of them (Fusion 3.9, FXP 145 with Tethering Module) Does Pick up as working but no Data sends out. I have had to Revert back to stock LT15i ICS Rom because my internet in my home runs of tethering (Wireless Tethering). But seriously thank you both for your Ideas.
JB still on development.. we must stick with ICS dude... mybe next year we (Xperia 2011 user) will taste the most stable JB without any bug..

I'm using Xperia Ultimate HD 2, and I'm pretty happy with it, it's very stable and really smooth, smoother than anything I've tried so far, it's based on 4.0.4 which is the last ICS version before Jellybean, people say 4.0.4 is the best version of ICS overall. So the Xperia Ultimate HD 2 is a great Rom built on a great base. Obviously you want Jellybean features but I'm not sure on everything you want, but I have Google Now on here, and I think it's modded to look like JB, you should check it out on the Complete Rom list and see if it has what you want

How is PA Rom and PAC rom when it comes to smoothness, do they come anywhere near CM?
They're both super smooth. I always use PAC

XTX I would recommend if you are not using the SD-card
I will recommend you (in order)
CM10
NOVA
CM9
Stock ICS
I try other (custom ics) like ka etc...
I found they're too unstable, random reboot, performance issue...

AW: what rom would you recommend?
PAC is one of the best Roms available for the Xperia S in my opinion.
It is super smooth, easily costumizable and stable.
In the new Version it even contains some Sony Features like Walkman and launcher.

Try paranoid android 2.57. Its stable, fast and the best Rom I have ever had! I use it for daily use and its very much stable!

I definitely recommend hei125 Nova rom with the nova kernel. Very stable, constantly updated and responds to all the complaints and fix them.

[Q] Is CM10 based on JellyBean?
Sorry if that's a dumb question, I'm pretty new to this as well. I'm currently running XTX8. I tried XTX9 but it was very slow and laggy so I reverted back to XTX8. I wanted to try CM9.1 but couldn't get it installed, so just did a restore as it was late at night. It's just I didn't consider CM10 as I thought it was based on JB, and I wanted something that's stable and not still being 'developed' as such.

can please someone tell me which is the best kernel for ics or jb to get best wifi stable range as in gb or i will have to stick with gb only?
edit: please tell the rom + kernel option with the base rom.
i have head .13 of jader and one more custom based has wifi stability like gb.
so please help me
Any stock based ICS ROM will give you stability you need. It's just a matter of finding out what ROM fits you best.

I don't know about stability but when it comes to range then CM10 with Fusion 4.5 kernel is really good. Sadly 4.5 is not available anymore (if you are really REALLY interested then I can upload it for you) but you can always try this new ICS from jader.

you sure it will give the same range and stablility as gb with no drops?
I don't know I've never tested it stability wise but in a place where stock was giving me 1 bar of range with constant wifi drops CM10 with Fusion 4.5 gives me stable 2 bars without disconnecting every 2 minutes.
try anzu kernel. Tried it using uhd w/ no issue.

I used my arc at a restaurant last night.WiFi bar was full.Immediate access to internet and very fast downloads.
Came back home, used existing WiFi and only the dot which made disappearing act now and then.
So you see,its not the problem with the device nor the kernel.
