Hi, I noob on this of an Android Phone, I have a HTC TOUCH PRO 2, RHOD210.
I install the FROYO X 2011.01.12 and i put the kernel that have the packet than run the camera and this is OK.
My problem is that the wifi interface is not workink, i am try a lot of solutions that found in this forum, but nothing is ok for me, i change the rootfs like suggest in a forum, modify the wifi-nvram.txt and put the mac address of the wifi, i update the kernel to Latest Kernel Commit# 1253, and i have the same problem.
could someone tell me how to solve the wifi of my rhod210?
Please, I do not want to use windows mobile
How about you just run with vanilla FRX03 and then try to get fancy with it?
Let us know how that works, then we can work on updating your kernel. If you're a noob at swimming, you don't start in the deep end...

Sorry, i'm only was trying to solve the problems for my self.
I understand that some of these RHOD210 if they have managed to run the wifi.
I tell you that I use from the beginning FRX03 and it worked well, at least part of the telephone, sound and GPS, but other things did not work, so I started to search the forums and trying different solutions. but I have not found a way to walk the wifi which is what most interests me, so probe, with the latest versions of the kernel etc.
Thanks, I know I'm a rookie, but I like trying to find solutions to the problems I have ....

Yes, and I'm trying to help you triage. You said a lot in this post, but didn't answer my question.
Does wifi work with a vanilla FRX03 bundle?

Does't work wifi in vanilla FRX03, in fact, the phone worki slow with this kernel, with FROYO is more faster.
Thanks.

Erm, I guess I should be more specific.
Where did you download vanilla FRX03? Also, FRX03 is Froyo, so I assume you mean that Froyo 'X' build tiad8 put together.
Also, I'm not sure what you mean "slow with this kernel" - by vanilla FRX03 build, I mean the complete bundle - not just the kernel. Plus, kernels are not tied to system images... So I'm not sure what you mean.

Well then, I guess you just can't have wifi...
Honestly, every single person either wifi "just works", or they have to do the wifi-nvram trick. I've never heard of anyone not being able to use wifi, that didn't try the wifi-nvram trick - and those people were definitely in the minority. Vast majority of people, wifi works perfectly fine for.
Please, be a little more diligent. I can't do this troubleshooting for you, I can only point you in the right direction. I need you to do some legwork, as I can't see what you're doing.

Fine, i go to format again my SD-CARD and start from zero, any installer recomeded? or pick the installer that i want?
how do I find out my exact model, I'm assuming is that it's RHOD210 for photos and that according to information I have read I understand that T-Mobile only has this HTC TOUCH PRO2, can that be part of my error, there is a way to identify exactly which model is?

Sticker underneath the battery - not on the battery itself. It's usually in tiny gray font.

Well, I'd format with the HP tool. (Full format, FAT32) Download this bundle as well.
[SOLVED]
Thank you very much to everyone who answered me and all the developers of this project so interesting, yesterday succeeded in solving the problems I had, my SD formatting, reinstalling Froyo x version 2011.01.12 and puts a kernel of the chamber, after That did the trick again wifi-nvram.txt file, according to the link that let me arrrghhh one of the threads of this forum, after that the WIFI has started to work wonders.
Then my HTC Touch Pro 2, RHOD210 remain with:
WIFI
CAMERA
GPS
PHONE, DATA AND YOU
AUDIO
Thank you very much.

Other problems
These days I've been testing my phone RHOD210 Android, after having settled about the WIFI, but I noticed a problem is that the phone is locked, I can receive a call and make a call, and thereafter ceases to operate the module telephony, change the 1214-Dirty kernel that runs the camera for the 1253 and I have the same problem, another thing I noticed is that the speakerphone does not work completely, it is telling me the microphone works but not the headphones, someone happened?

Uhm... the older kernel doesn't have the commits for speakerphone mic I would say. Once it all gets committed to GIT it will be a lot less confusing - just a lot of code that's in testing right now basically.

WEP should never, ever be used in any circumstances if it can be avoided. That protocol is extremely insecure...

What kernel do you recommend for my RHOD210, the 1253 is doing that the phone will be frozen and I have to Quiaro the battery and put it again to restart the system.
Wonder that in the future will be able to remove the windows and flash the device with adro to make it natively? : D
Thank you very much

Well, I'd recommend 1250 then I guess... Usually I recommend the newest GIT kernel, which is currently 1253.
FYI, you already can remove Windows and flash the device to run Android natively. It's just not as stable as haret, but it's getting there. Plus, it's only a partial NAND boot - only init and the zImage are actually loaded on the MTD if I'm not mistaken, everything else is on the SD card (which is still 99% of the data...)
But, if you're feeling brave and really do want to completely get rid of WinMo, NAND boot away... can't say I didn't warn ya
I read something on internet and saw some videos with LG Optimus G with new android..
It's possibel to do that?

e971 Lollipop limited at present...
Hi there.
I've been following the Android 5.0 porting movement at this site here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/opt...nt/port-android-l-preview-gee-t2818325/page80
People have been reporting some issues, but overall it seems like a relatively decent daily.
I tried it on my LGOG e971 (Rogers) and it was in fact pretty smooth and functional. However one issue was perplexing to me & I was unable to determine a resolution as of yet.
I am unable to stream data over cell network. I tried every possible APN permutation I could think of & found, and nothing.
Somebody on that forum mentioned it could be a kernel issue, but I honestly don't know enough at this point to try to make my own or adapt a current one. Anybody have any suggestions or can confirm or deny this issue on a Rogers e971?
Anyway, no rush as I'm using KITKAT as my current daily, but have Lollipop saved as a CWM backup for easy quick access.
Thanks for your time.
Have a great day!

Sure it makes sense. If people can add bands they should be able to subtract them. (see the link below, I'm not familiar with how to do what they are talking about though)
Thanks for telling me about GravityBox. I can't tell if it actually turns off the radios, and if they are off at startup. I need 2G and any less secure bands eliminated completely. So preferences are not what I'm looking for. I'm running Copperhead (an AOSP without google services) so I'm not sure that GravityBox would work.
So yeah, I want it to be like the chip for those bands are nonexistent. I think that modifying the firmware/image would work, I dont think I need the GSM chip at all since I'm on Verizon. If I could leave out the GSM radios firmware that might work but have no idea how to do modify ROM images. I bet others would like to remove just 2G or others though.
I can't post links yet but this search should bring you to a page that discusses the NV number editing

Ok.. so I've been doing some investigating. These are virtually the same hardware. Qualcomm Processor, 3GB RAM, same sound, video, etc chips.
Sprint has enabled the FM radio in their unit .. Nobody in Canada has.
How can we extract what Sprint did for their model so I can do it on mine? Or can I just flash a P rom on this unit? That seems like a no-go but then I can't see any physical difference between the two units.
Thanks for whatever advice is out there..

I'm not a dev. But i do some modding. I think that's all software related. So either pull the correct files from a Sprint Rom with proper csc setup. Or flash a sprint Rom with your kernel and data fix. Either way might work.
Just don't do anything blindly. Make a complete backup of phone and do some more research. Best advice i have! Good luck!

So you are right on the money. I've spent the day comparing identical versions of the same software release. One from SPRINT the other a Canadian carrier's version of the same ROM.
These are the two biggest catches I've run across. There maybe a few minor points, but I'm not sure how relevant they are. So I'm going to start here. A painful sense of 'this is somehow controlled via a kernel setting' lingers but.. to those willing to risk it all, bla bla bla.. here we go!
I'll report back shortly.

I've found files in those same folders that bear relevance. And further, there's a system level android permission :
android.permission.ACCESS_FM_RADIO
And then.. the final point - the sticky-wicket -- probably some change in the kernal to support all of the above.
I continue to tinker -- no success yet.

I've just recently tried also, even on a sprint phone. No go yet.
It must be all software related. As i stated, I'm even on n910p but what I'm trying to accomplish is running a gsm rom on it. So that proves in missing software. Hopefully for you it isn't built into the framework files. Might be kernel. I'll try. Let you know.

In comparing the DPK1 rom between Sprint and Rogers.. other than the areas I've mentioned .. much of it appears to be the same.
My goal here is to know a) if it's in the kernel or just all in the standard software.
My gut says i'ts NOT in the kernel.. but
but they don't have the same lte bands right ?

This device may be a few years old, but its still great. Support for it has almost disappeared, but there are still people out there like me that are on this device that can't/won't upgrade for one reason or another. Sure, Superstock is a great ROM, but lollipop is outdated, and having the features of custom ROMS but on a newer base would be freaking great. I am right?
I may have missed them, but as far as I could find on XDA, I couldnt find any nougat custom ROMs for this device. I would super excited to petition for one of the awesome developers out there to make a new ROM, even if it might be the last for this phone. Or maybe there is one, and I have just been much to dense to see it. Let this thread be for all posts related to the development of a custom Nougat rom, or sharing of one that already exists. Thanks everyone for reading and participating!

Heads up, read thru the thread carefully, many of these ROMs will require the "T-Mobile audio fix" to get in call audio, that is if you have the T-Mobile variant (G928T). You can search for the fix..
We can run Note 5 ROMs too, check out the TMo N5 or the Int'l forums, like I mentioned, above.

I do know that theres a few different "audio fixes" available. Im thinking they differ bcuz of the Android version? Just a guess, but what I'll do, is, I'll use only Roms that another 928T user already reported their success using it. I dont want to waste my time and effort being the guinea pig and then, for it not to work. Usually, whomever confirmed compatibility, will also list anything thats needed additionally to get it running, like the audio fix, along with link(s) to get it. If it doesn't work, they'll usually state the issues they found. Someone else's issue with it, might not be relevant to another person so they may decide to run it.
The best way to do this is to simply go to the OP of the Rom thread, in the upper right corner, you'll see a "search" option/box, (depending on browser or app, might see 3 dots instead, its a drop down list) click on it and enter our phone model, "928T, 928-T" or "T-Mobile, Tmobile, TMO " I try to cover the different variations, others here use to identify the phone. Seems like the search function, searches only the exact characters, as entered in the box, doubting it can identify and include similar known ones, so rather be thorough and not miss something. It searches your entry only in that particular thread and lists the results.
If you're braver than I, and dont mind going where no other TMO'rs have gone before and found only the in call audio isnt working, then its likely, flashing the audio fix is all thats needed.
The best way to solve this is, again, with a simple search. This time I'd recommend, a broader search using Google's search engine, type "XDA T-Mobile audio fix," bcuz this will search all XDA forums, more importantly, both S6 E+ and N5, carrier and int'l forums all at once. Then just go down the list if results, making sure that youre in either of the 4 forums, above, locating the download. Last I checked there was 3 or so fixes available, this was many months ago though. Anyway, having more isnt a bad thing, less would mean needing to go back and finding the one you missed. Once you have them, flash each one seperately, in recovery, reboot, confirm whether you're issue is fixed or not. If not, then continue these steps till it works. Flashing the audio fix won't mess your phone up. No need to reset, clear cache or anything of the sort, between each audio fix, just flash only the audio fix and rebooting is necessary. If you want to be organized, you can cross reference the dates of each audio fix, with the current firmware available at the time. That way you can flash any Rom you desire and will already have the fix ready.
Wow, my apologies, talk about rambling on about nothing more than finding correct file, flash your device, confirm its fixed, if not then repeat till its fixed. If no fix is found then, Rom isnt compatible...
Sorry, one last thing, Im sure that you'll help many others like yourself, if you had minute to post your experience with whichever Rom(s), you chose.
For example, "Rom works great, needed this (link to audio fix) for in call audio on the TMO variant"
It seems like you're the first 928T to try the Rom you have so,
report your experience, posts are permanent, its there forever, for any curious new comers, you'd be their hero! It'd most def get a "thx" from me.. :good:

Found a few ROMs that work without fixes and run nougat. Khongloi's s8 port works and has some of the best features I've ever had on this phone, but is heavy on the battery. AndroidSword's NFuel XL runs fast and light, but doesn't have edge features. The original NFuel also has full support for 928T, but I haven't tried it yet. I'm also working on my own custom ROM now since every ROM I tried was missing something I wanted.

I've just finished cooking a second version of my custom rom. Haven't had any issues so far. It's Called TrueStockN.
Here's a list of ROMs I was able to get working for the G928T:
Khongloi's s8 Port
Nemesis s7 Port
N-Fuel
TrueStockN
These are just Nougat roms I that worked for me off the bat, no additional audio fix required. Of course, there may be more, but these are the ones I know of and have used extensively.
