I've noticed on a few occasions that my home button nolonger takes me back to the launcher. I can hold it down to bring up recent apps, but thats it.
When this happens, the only thing that seems to fix it is a reboot.
Has anyone else had this problem? I'm running Go launcher ex. I can't confirm if that could be the issue or if it's happening on all note 3's.

I've been running multiple ROMS and Launchers with the exception of Go , and not a single issue,

Same here, I have used apex and nova launchers as well as multiple roms with no issues.

Thanks for the replies. From the sound of things it's most likely my launcher causing the problem.

Is anyone able to reproduce lag in Apex launcher by repeatedly going in and out of the app drawer a few times? It has done that for me on every single version and is the only reason I go back to Nova. I emailed the dev and he told me to download the latest version...I was offended.

I still get that too.. seems better with Franco m2 kernel tho.

Works great for me. It is a phone, not a gaming rig. I've actually noticed more lag on nova. On apex, it only lags if I repeatedly go in and out of the app drawer a bunch of times...which isn't practical

That's the only way I am able to reproduce it over and over (which should be easily fixable) but it does it randomly when I'm in the app drawer too. The only time Nova lags for me is in the app drawer also when I'm swiping through it really fast but in Apex the lag lasts for like 15 seconds making my phone unusable.

Anyone else notice the home screen redraw? Granted, it is much better/faster than ICS and prior, however JB was supposed to eliminate the issue. For those that don't know what this is, it is that funky shift that you get when coming back to the home screen from another app. It is most noticeable with a wallpaper that is not a solid color, and widgets. For example, if I am at the home screen and pull down the menu bar, go into settings, then hit the home button, I fly back to the home screen quickly, but there is a 1 to 1.5 second shift from the left and then right side as the screen redraws to fit everything.
The question....is this a result of a custom grid size, or is this something else? I am using Jedi with the 5x5 TW launcher. TIA.
I'm not noticing anything and I'm using the same rom

Interesting. Are you using any kind of rotation control, or just the default Jedi config?

Default. I do force GPU rendering. Not sure if that makes a difference on that

Here's a quick video of the issue. Of course, it wasn't as pronounced as I have been seeing it, but you can definitely see what I mean here.

Have you tried getting off of the 5x5 launcher to see if that fixes it?
i had issues with widgets doing some moving and cut offs when i used that. just a thought.

Yeah, that didnt do it. If you note in the video, the clock widget isn't affected. It is really the wallpaper that is shifting around.

Yeah I tried recreating what you had going on earlier, I had the xda app AND pulled down the notification drawer even, hit the home button, and it was perfectly normal. Does it do it with other wallpapers?

Thanks dude. It looks like it is Jedi Home (TW) that is doing this. I switched to Nova and the problem does not appear. I also just tried deleting a blank home screen page from TW before I switched to Nova, and Jedi Home FC'd. Something is whacky. But I have seen this behavior with other ROM's and launchers too, so...it's a mystery at the moment.

Maybe try doing a clean flash? 3.3 was my very first install of Jedi so I followed all his instructions with full wipe, system wipe etc and have 0 problems.
Might be time, indeed.

Every time i open an app for a long period and exit it the homescreen will go black & blank for over a minute, it really bothers me, It's such a shame for something that costs you 3 bucks
I'm pretty sure it's not my phone, never had this issue other launchers

Perhaps there is a launcher setting to allow the app to persist in memory? Phone might be killing the task after a long period of inactivity, causing problems when relaunching in the form of redraws.

Get pimp my ROM and tell it to keep the launcher in memory. It's buried in the long list of tweaks, you might find some you like

Sometimes when I long press my home button, the task manager and recent apps etc doesn't pop up. I then restart my phone and then it works fine. This happens every few days it seems like. Also, when I'm watching YouTube videos or sometimes Netflix, and I turn my phone, it doesn't go into landscape mode sometimes. It does this quite a bit. I'm stock and running nova launcher prime. How can I fix this?

First try the stock launcher and see if you can replicate the issue.

What is this Touchwiz lag on stock Galaxy devices people keep mentioning?
I don't have any lag, if you don't like it flash aosp rom. If there are touchwiz specific apps features then you have to way out the pros and cons

Can you give an example? Could be user error in some cases. touchwiz has been great for me and haven't experienced this lag that you have mentioned.

Well, I just got my Note II yesterday and haven't noticed a problem. I heard about it mainly on the S4 though. But some people always criticize TW as laggy. I guess they mean the occassional force close or little glitch or bug?
The lag issue, I believe, most user's are referring to is the "phone wake up lag"
When you wake the phone after it has been off for a few seconds it doesn't instantly turn on.There is a lag..
When you hit your power button to turn on and access your smart phone you would expect it to be instantaneous. It is not.
I don't expect anything to be instantaneous. I think people over do it sometimes.

I actually expect my phone to know in about to hit the power button and turn on by itself.
Seriously though I think that is the lag people talk about and it can be pretty annoying at times. That's why I love the zero wake lag mod!
