Need help with CWM - LG Optimus G Pro

I can"t get out of CWM. Every time I try to reboot system it will start back up in Cwm. I am locked in CWM. Help please... Tried also to pull battery and restart and it just goes back into CWM Also tried to restore to backup still returns to CWM. Even install new rom of SD card and still returned to CWM.

Are you able to get into download mode?

I am not with USB cord or setup . Itried to Hard reset yet it stills return to CWM bootloop. I guess I will have to return to stock.

Can't boot into phone, seems no way to recover.

Hello I recently messed up my phone trying to get a custom rom onto my phone. (It is a l710 model)
I can boot into Clockwork Recovery and ODIN just fine, but I phone won't start up.
I used GS3 toolkit to root phone and it all worked fine, but then used clockwork to install custom rom.
I want to recover my phone but the only rom on the internal SD is the one that doesn't work.
I have a Nandroid backup I made using the galaxy s3 toolkit, its on the computer and sd card.
However I cannot restore using toolkit since it just waits for the phone to be on and in usb debugging mode to continue
Recovery says "Couldn't open directory" "No files found" when trying to restore backup.
I would try puting another rom on an sd card but it only browses internal storage (internal sd).
I went to mount external sd but didnt seem to help
Not sure if ODIN can do anything...
Don't know what else to try

I tried that but my phone just flashes samsung then the samsung galaxy s III and then turns off (or at least it appears to be off).
Is there a way to restore Nandroid backups with odin?

You can get adb/the toolkit to see the phone. Go into the device manager while your phone is plugged in and booted to recovery. You should see a device with a ! next to it should be your phone. If you manually install the driver the toolkit will see it. Have the toolkin boot you into download mode. If you have recovery Odin mode should be okay, u sure ur holdin "vol down, home, pwr"?
Thanks for your time.
I managed to get it working.
What I did was
1. using odin, reflash the insecure boot thing.
2. reinstall the rom through recovery
3. factory reset
and then is wasnt stuck in a boot loop anymore
after that I could access internal storeage sd.
I had this same issue. After using ODIN Rom would hang on boot animation. Would never boot all the way and I gave it close to 45 minutes. I also found the only way to resolve this issue was doing a factory reset after flashing through ODIN. Im using Vzw model so I guess it is happening cross platforms.

[Q] After CWM upgrade cannot start or restore phone

I have a rooted Galaxy S3 that is running the ATT Jelly Bean update.
Last night, while looking at ROM manager I got a popup saying there is a newer version of CWM and did I want to install it.
After installing it, the phone will only boot into recovery. I cannot get it to start. And when I tried to restore from a backup that I have used successfully before, I got an error while restoring data.
At this point, I am thinking that I might have bricked this phone. Searching on the ATT Galaxy S3 forum hasn't turned up anything relevant.
Does anyone have an idea what I can try next?
Thanks

If you a can boot into recovery than you aren't bricked.
You can do a factory reset that might clear it up.
Worst case go into download mode and use Odin to reinstall the stock ROM.

Im assuming you powered down, did a battery pull and powered back up? Factory reset?
What error message is displayed when trying to restore a backup?
The latest cwm release is 6.0.2.8. If you came from 6.0.2.3, I would download a cwm flashable zip of that recovery and flash that. Perhaps try a reboot then. If it's still a no-go, try restoring a backup with the cwm you had just downloaded and flashed to see if it will restore without an error message

For the record, my phone is displaying "ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.2.9"
I just has this happen to me as well. I just put the s3 in download mode and used Odin to re flash cwm. I'm using the same version cwm.

stranglely pressing the recovery button combo fixed it and im back in CM10.1 #lolwut?
In the end I got the phone working again
For whatever reason, after getting that update to ClockworkMod, the phone would not boot.
I followed the Beginners' Guide to Rooting the Galaxy S3 forum. When I was finished I immediately got an OTA update from ATT.
So now the phone is running again, but I've lost most of my customization and personal data.
What is with this CWM "upgrade?" Or is the problem with ROM Manager?
More likely is that I did something wrong.
At least I can make calls now.
Same here, stay away from that update! Bad things!
This also happened to me. Cwm is showing up as .9 instead of .8. I flashed a previous version of twrp and it still proceeded to go into recovery mode after selecting reboot. I did a factory reset and re flashed aokp and also cm10.1 (along with gapps of course) and it still did it. So I pulled the battery and put it into download mode and reset it from there. That's the only way to get the phone to boot up. From what I see here, is the basic fix for this problem flashing an older cwm in Odin?
Having the same issue, version .9 No amount of clearing data/wipe/reflash/restore will do anything for me either. So much for a lunchtime AOKP update...
I've looked in several different forums on xda and the general fix seems to be flashing a previous version of cwm. No need to reset your phone and flash roms all day long.
Download prior cwm release (.tar)
pull battery and replace
boot to download mode
connect to pc and flash cwm
Disconnect, pull battery, reboot
Here's the 6.0.2.3 release. You can grab the .8 in the Android dev section if you wish
https://www.dropbox.com/s/sfkjtndn7k0urmh/recovery-clockwork-6.0.2.3-d2att.tar
Let me know if this does not work. If your device is not recognized by your pc, you can try flashing this cwm zip in recovery itself (if you have a micro sd card):
http://d-h.st/8qP
I flashed with the same version of cwm I had previously before this issue (6.0.28). It seems to be an issue with 6.0.29 if so many people have this same issue.

I believe this can even be simplified a bit more. At least for me, some people may find Odin to be the simple way to do things. So you're stuck at recovery:
Hold the power button for 10 seconds to power off.
Boot to download mode by holding volume down and home. The phone will probably start to boot right away after releasing the power button. If it doesn't go to download, then your timing is off, try again.
Hold the power button for 10 seconds to power off and reboot.
It should boot regularly now.
Flash a new recovery. You can download CWM 6.0.2.8 or use this as an opportunity to move to TWRP. Once you have the img file on your phone, go to a terminal and (after su, if needed) run dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18 (replace "/sdcard/recovery.img" with the path and name of the img file you downloaded. You can also flash the recovery using whatever other on-phone method you prefer.
The CWM download page is now showing that 6.0.2.8 is the newest version for many of the S3 variants, so they've certainly noticed the bug.

[Q] Need help fixing Samsung Galaxy S3

So i attempted to root my gs3, i had succeeded in doing so. i had cm10 flash and was looking good but once i tried to flash gapps to my phone, i am now stuck right before the os boots up and get an error message saying that gapps has stopped working and must force close and unfortunately, setup wizard has stopped working. after attempting to recover using twrp, which failed, i tried to flash my recovery zip i had made from titanium backup. now i am still stuck at previously mentioned screen but twrp is now gone and when i boot into recovery mode it comes up with the stock mode. being dumb and thinking that the recovery from titanium would be enough i didn't make a back-up using nandroid. i can still get to download mode as well as recovery mode but i am not entire sure if usb debugging mode is still on or not. i have odin downloaded on my computer but am not entirely sure on how to go about restoring my phone. at this point i'd be happy just to get it back up and running stock. can anyone help?
Update:So i downloaded a stock rom and tried flashing it using odin and now i am stuck on the samsung splash screen. been waiting about 5 min. but would still appreciate any input if possible

If you have Odin already you need to just download the stock rooted rom and flash it. Make sure when you flash a custom Rom that your recovery is up to date and you download the correct gapps package.
Ignore any file names. The video is just too get you accustomed to Odin.

Try this, usually in a case like yours there is at least a 50% success rate.
Reboot the phone into recovery and do a "Factory Reset".
After doing that reboot the phone and see if it boots completely.
If the phone boots up completely, you will also be able to go into download mode.
You may want to shell out less than $5.00 including shipping for a USB JIG on eBay or other places.
With a JIG all you do is turn the phone off or remove your battery, wait 20 seconds - replace battery and plug the little JIG into the usb of the
phone then wait a 2-3 seconds more or less and like magic you will be in download mode ready to Odin flash(tar) a proper Touchwiz Jellybean
I747 4.1.2 stock rooted rom which are very much un-like all these CM10/AOSP/AOKP roms which are all just experimental.
Once you have flashed the stock rooted jellybean 4.1.2 TAR rom you will be able to flash any custom Touchwiz Jellybean
custom rom of your choice unless you still want to go ahead and flash another experimental CM/AOKP/ASOP rom.
Good luck!
Not to nit pick, but the latest stock Jelly Bean for the I747 is 4.1.1, not 4.1.2. Also, most of the stock rooted roms don't include custom recovery. They usually include the stock 3e recovery. To get a custom recovery, just dl Rom manager for cwm, or goo manager for twrp, and they can install a recovery for you that will have you ready to flash.
Which version of stock did you flash?

What bootloader and modem are currently on your phone?
What ROM were you on and what were you flashing when the troubles started?
Since you can get into download mode, can you get into Recovery Mode? If you can, try putting CM11 on a MicroSd card and flash it from CWM.

My sgs2 is stuck in a boot loop, computers won't recognize the usb connection, and my sd card won't mount on philz touch 5 V6.0.3.7 My SD card is, however, recognizable if I plug it directly to my computer using an adapter.
so I rooted my phone using CWM. After that, my computer stopped recognizing my phone. I tried everything to fix it including factory resetting my phone, formatting cache, data, system, and sd card all under the CWM boot menu (hold volup+home+power). Soon afterwards, my phone got stuck in a boot loop. On startup, it hangs on the white "Samsung" logo. While trying to fix the issue, I noticed that my sd card won't mount.
I've tried this method, but it requires that I either have usb access or access to my phone. I've tried formatting the SD card in my computer. I've tried using different computers. I've tried using different usb cords. I've tried searching Google and these forums for a solution. i have uninstalled the samsung drivers countless times and rebooted with no success.
I need to figure out a way to flash the stock rom back to my phone. In order to do this, I need to get my usb to recognize or manage to have phil touch 5 v 6.0.3.7 mount the sd card. If I can do this, the rest is easy. Does anyone has any ideas on what can be done? please please assist!

[Q] Secure Booting Error problem ("Device UnLock!!, so Boot Success!!")

Hey everyone. Out of pure desperation, this is my first post here because I'm absolutely at a loss of what to do.
So I first rooted my Optimus G Pro with Super One Click, then used FreeGee to get CWM Recovery on there, which I heard unlocks the bootloader, too. I then tried to flash the CyanogenMod ROM on this forum, and didn't have any "errors" during install. After this, however, when I rebooted, I was simply met with the "Secure Booting Error: Device UnLock!! so Boot Success!!" message.
I can access CWM-based Recovery 6.0.3.3 still, but can't find a way to put files onto my SD card now. Any ideas? Can I fix this error? Should I just reinstall stock? If so, where do I get it, and how can I put it onto my SD card?
I'd really appreciate any help, guys. Also, if you for sure have a way to get CWMRecovery to boot up, I seem to only get it going with luck.
Thanks for any help or input, guys. I'm pretty distraught, especially since this phone is so new.

So I've decided I'm okay with going back to Stock Rom for now. If I can't access the phone via USB (at least from my computer) what choices do I have? I'm looking in sideloading. Does that seem pretty alright?
You are supposed to get that secure boot error message when u unlock bootloader and when u flash cm10.1 or any 4.2 rom your SD card becomes a file called 0. It can be accessed in a file manager that has root access and it will b in a mnt. folder. It takes a while for cm to boot so after the lg logo it should b around 5 minutes of black screen.

Okay, so I guess I'm not worried about the boot error message anymore, but I can't seem to get anything to happen. I get the LG logo with the error message, then nothing. I waited about 8 minutes before to no luck. I DID see the CyanogenMod logo once or twice, but it just stalled and didn't do anything. I'm thinking it's a battery thing, but in this state, I can't seem to find a way to charge it.
I did a few different methods of trying to reinstall stock rom (since I'm thinkin now I'll just wait until an official release of CM is available). For the LG Flash Tools version, it's saying my BIN doesn't match with my DLL or something (I'll be more specific when I have a chance). When I do the R&D Test Tool, it says my battery doesn't have enough charge to go through with the update (which is what's making me think my battery is gone).
Right now I have my phone plugged into a wall outlet with CWMRecovery open, because I read somewhere that you can charge your phone that way if you need to.
I'm kind of at a loss, guys. Any specific ideas or help?
I understand that this error is normal as it should be: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45094932&postcount=148
Hey everyone! I have a little problem: When I reboot my phone I can not go into cwm... I have an Optimus G Pro with cm10.2. cm10.2 works fine, but i have no change going into recovery mode... When I reboot into recovery there is a lying android figure. What can I do?

I had the same problem, I copied CM and Gapps to a microSD card and flashed it from there!

faced the same issue a while back.......... I had to flash back to stock, reroot and install lokified cwm from freegee. But while doing so, do not disable LG security. After that, I can access recovery normally. BYW, this happened when I flashed 4.3 based rom from a non-loki supported cwm.
Hope this helps...... BTW I am using E988.

Hello,
I have the same problem with the optimus f120k
When I attempt to reboot show the message:
secure booting error
cause: boot certification verify
Can I recover the phone?
Can I access the phone?
I'd really appreciate any help
Tanks
Hi I rooted the phone, then install the FreeGee , and always start the phone in recovery mode! what can I do for that start with the system normally and not the recovery???
Thank you!
I suspect that FreeGee does something wrong to our devices!
I tried EVRYTHING but still stuck on CWM
E988
same error on F240K E988
Is there any solution for that?
You must flash it back with lg flashtool

That message only says that the bootloader is "unlocked." If it didn't say Boot Success then you'd have a problem. After a fresh flash it takes a few minutes before the phone is usable.

Yes, after the bootloop problem, I have flashed back with lg flashtool, but i hope will be a solution for that bootloop problem...
LG E-989
reflashing a recovery fixed my recovery bootloop
was using philz_touch_6.15.4-e980 when this happened and I'm not sure if reflashing the same recovery would have fixed it
I had TWRP-2.6.1.0-E980-LOKIFIED-E986HACKED.zip on sd from here so I flashed it and restarted recovery again but after that it booted normally

For real? DO NONE OF YOU KNOW HOW TO SEARCH?!?!??!?!? There are 2 threads I created, one in general. One in Q&A. Read through those. There was no need for you to flash back to complete stock. I guess that's what y'all get for not searching (@@)
