I was released 2 weeks back...juz junk apps are installed extra...I rolled back to v10E..
In the end, the only way to keep updated is using AOSP roms and forget about manufacter's updates. Sad.

hey, i don't usually have to ask this but there are so many optimus g forums, i can not find for the life of me how to root the Telus E973 i have bought and downloaded the freegee app off the market but as i understand you have to be rooted before you use it. any help is greatly appreciated thanks

that method did not work for me, tried option 1 and 2 and kept saying cannot find path specified, isn't that root for xperia phones? can i

Root complete. Now on to unlock and flashing recovery. I think I might try the CM mod out tonight!
Not working
I just picked up a LG Optimus G E973 (TELUS), yesterday, and this method isn't working. I followed the Youtube video and still nothing. I've tried it on both my Windows XP and Windows 7 laptops. Both just hang at the "If successful I will tell you ... " shell message.
The only thing that I can think of that might cause this problem is that I received a Software Update last night. My software version is E97310g instead of the E97310f that the Youtube video shows. Are there any other methods that will work or is this it?

Since the update, no current root method works, that I know of. I have the Telus OG as well, and I have the update available, but im going to wait until there is a new method of rooting. hope that explains it

As the post right above yours mentions, it's probably due to Telus firmware which was just released last night/this morning.

The only way this is possible is to flash the old stock rom and root that, then use my guide to update OTA. This is what I've done and it works for me.

Yeah it will work. Just make sure you use the Rogers stock firmware.

Well damn. I guess I'll wait a bit longer for a reliable root method to come along. I'm sure it will happen. I just want to trash Facebook and a couple other small programs that I want nowhere near my phone. I can wait a bit longer for that.

Use kdz updater to downgrade. Root as per normal than use root ota keeper and apply update. Worked on my telus e973

I wanted to get this specific version off ebay. which is called "NEW UNLOCKED LG OPTIMUS G 32GB BLACK WHITE PREMIUM TDMB & QUADBEAT IPS E973 F180" Its from korea. I wanted to know can i install the firmwares found on this forum for e973 on this phone? does this phone have cm 10.1. E973 and this phone are the same? firmware wise and other stuff also. Any opinions guys please share. And is the camera of this phone better than galaxy note?
Not the same. E973 is closer to the E975 and E971 than it is to the F180.

they are different.f180's back camara is 1300w.and f180's system update is fast.now,f180l has 20l firmware.it also can be rooted.

so is 545$ for this phone a good price?? and also iam mostly custom firmware user so i need opinions on custom firmware for this phone. LG sucks at official updates so i dont really wanna depend on it.

Dont buy the F180 unless you live in korea.

I've the LG Optimus F180L now for a month and I'm from The Netherlands. I'm very happy with this Phone.
I flashed yesterday the A10 version from the E975 with the Original LG software. Now I have the same LG Phone
without korean apss or klanguage and extra QSlide apps in the pulldown menu.
So, why shouldn't we buy one, in Europe we still can't buy it. The best Phone there is on this moment.
First of all cause of warranty/insurance.
Also if your phone got broken, that would be trouble to repair the phone in Europe cause F180, especially the L version, has some differences from E97X.
E975 is already announced and close to arrive, be patient

E973 is international version i suppose
Its the E975
Yeah E975 is the actual international version. E971 would be the next closest due to the 2600mhz LTE band and then the E973.

Really nice news!
I have bought an E975 in Singapore. Firmware version is V10c (Singapore Tele), 4.1.2
This is absolutely the best android device I have ever used(HD2, GS2, Evo3D, Note2).
But the only thing troubles me is that I still cannot get it rooted after trying out many method and .:silly:

Then use see if you can install supersu and busybox.

Thanks Elisha, but this "G_security" root method is blocked by LG in my phone's firmware(v10c Singapore Tele).

Sorry Elisha, I didn't notice that is a new method of G_security rooting.
I have entered shell with root permission.
Going to put su and busybox to the right place.
If you go back to the Sprint section, an updated root kit is available now so it's as easy as it was before.

The Bell E973 update is now working through the update tool, OTA brought up nothing.. :laugh:
just an fyi, the q-slide apps that they had on the Asian/Euro firmwares are nowhere to be found..
My WiFi password doesn't save on reboot with the new software. 1 hour in and I already have a bug, lol.

I had that issue when I flashed the Bell version on my E971. Changed carrier name in build prop and it saves now.

You have to change build.prop if you are on telus

I have a Bell E973 but I'm on AT&T.
EDIT: Nevermind. Fixed it.
i have no interest in rooting my device i want to downgrade my AT&T LG G3 Vigor D725 back to 4.4 kitkat because lolipop is an absolute god awful mess and yes ive tried looking it up on google but ive seen stock firmware downloads for the D850 but i have a D725 also are there any risks of downgrading? and sorry if im posting this in the wrong forum

Yea i was talking to my best friend on skype and he said that if he can he will buy an AT&T LG G3 Vigor with 4.4.2 or at least 4.4 and extract the firmware and send it to me. It seems that there is a small amount of interest for it. If he goes through with it I will upload the firmware here for you guys to download.
