Sometimes my alarm clock does not show any popup to turn it off!!!
The only way to turn the alarm of is then to turn of the phone!!
The same thing is with the calendar.
What's strange it looks like the phone is changing its mind according to it's mood and sometimes the popup shows on and sometimes it doesn't.
I've found this thread but on my HTC desire Z there is no such option:
SETTINGS/sounds¬ifications/notifications.then in events scroll to reminders then tick the box for display message on screen tab
Click to collapse
Even if it was there, why would the phone behave differently without changing anything in the settings?
So anyone knows what to do?
It really makes me mad when it rings early in the morning and there is no f$#$$popup there.
Please help.
you may have to do a full restore
What do you mean? Would you be more specific?
ps. I've found many people have this problem (for ex. on Polish forum), no one knows what's the cause.
Just use alarm clock plus, it has nap setting if ur still sleepy long press for nap and minutes will pop-up very helpful for last minute haha

I am wanting an app, that can customise teh colour of the LED for different notifications as well as turn them off when im asleep. I have seen an app called lightflow, is this the best app for the job?
I use lightflow and for me its perfect!
Nice

LightFlow is the best app ever!
You can set led color, frequency, speed, vibration and many more for every apps, for all notifications you need.
Buy PRO version because FREE version don't allow you to use LightFlow for every app, but it works only with a little number of apps...
Does anyone get the issue when using lightflow where the phone speaks to you??. Even if you disable all notifications on the accessibility screen, you still get the voice speaking.
Theres a big thread over on the lightflow devs website...seems like its a bug with ICS.
SAdly i bought it but have uninstalled it as it wont work unless you turn your sound off and personally i dont like my phone talking to me lol.

Yes!!! It took me forever to figure out why it would say Folder is open or Folder is closed, anytime I would open a folder on the home screen.

its a well know bug, coder is working to fix it
Unfortunately I was having problems with lightflow; sometimes the LED notification was not stopping regardless of what I did, until a reboot. The talk back thing I got rid of by not having accessibility checked within the phone settings. Sometimes the LED want activating either.
Most promising looking app though.

I also bought the pro. But I get the same issues with the led not stopping blinking. If I swipe a notification to get rid of it and don't actually view it the led just keeps on flashing. I think you press the clear button it works, but as a whole there needs to be some improvements in this app before I use it, all I really wanted was to turn off the led at night! It wakes me up. Too bright ha

On my Galaxy Nexus and on my actual S3, LightFlow works great...
No bug for me...

Yeah, pressing clear, or entering the app and viewing the message doesn't clear the led for me. The only thing that works is rebooting. But I'm going back to handcent for my messaging and since the pro version supports it I've purchased it too. I just love having the led's for at work, where I sometimes can't hear my phone, but they have to be off at night. I can't believe that a little flashing light can be so annoying at night!

At night you can enable the "sleep setting" under settings, than it wont blink.
Go to Notifications/*AppName*/Clear notification style and select "Screen on", than it will stop blinking after you turned on the screen.
Sorry for my bad english, hope you understand me
Sigh, for some reason this app doesn't work on my SGH-I747. I mean it does work but it doesn't show up the right colors that I've set up. For example: I choose the missed calls' color as red, but it shows up as blue and the rest are messed up too. Does anyone have the same problem?
The talking phone is very annoying, and i also experience the big orange square when you click on browser that mess my surfing xperience. I hope im not the only one

Hi,
It's weird that no one still hasn't posted this.
After upgrading to stock 4.04 ROM, it is impossible to dismiss an all-day event from the Lock Screen. Snooze works fine.
You draw the 'Dismiss' button towards the lock ring, you see some animation then, as though the reminder is going to be dismissed, and then you see that the reminder just won't go from the lock screen. It keeps reappearing no matter how many times you "dismiss" it.
So far, I only experienced this with event reminders from People Calendar (birthdays and anniversaries), but I'm pretty sure it can be reproduced on all types of all-day events.
Also, two notable things:
1. After you unlock the display and dismiss the event right from within the calendar app, you see the notification bubble at the bottoms of the screen saying "The event may be deleted". WTH?
2. No matter if reminder settings for People Calendar are set to "none", when you create or even change an existing contact, then the reminder for the corresponding event will be set to "12 hours".
Anyone?
PS: On 4.03 stock ROM, everything was perfect.
PPS: I even factory reset the phone and this didn't help either.
Guys! Shame on you
Even Football confirmed that the issue does exist.
Pity there is no reaction or feedback from the community.

It's a feature, not a fault.
It's always been the case that 'all day' events in the calendar will display on the lock screen 'all' day.
Personally, I find it handy, and make use of the fact it stays there on the lock screen all day.

I'm afraid you are mistaken.
The reminder "pops up" on the lock screen 12 hours before the actual event starts.
Also, it wasn't the case on the 4.0.3. stock. Everything just worked as expected.

Trying to figure out, after many years of Android, what the SYNC toggle in Android turn on/off.
I thought this woulkd turn on/off ALL push notifications, but it seems instead that it does so only for google ones (gmail. exchange, calendar, tasks, play stores) while facebook and whatsapp are totally ignored.
I am finding the best way when at home to switch off all notifications besides whatsapp actually, without going into each one of them: is tehre any?
I dont use whatsapp, but my Facebook acts same as yours.. If I don't want notifications I have to manually go in the app and turn them off. I think the sync toggle is for Google services, possibly everything set up in "accounts". The Facebook sync in accounts is for contacts, that is why it does not stop notifications.

well at least now I know it's not only me...
yeah it's a little annoying that Android does not have a sigle notificstion register point where all apps (even those not using google srvices) can register for push notifications, so that it'd be easy to toggle on/off what you want, insteda of going into each app's settings
I thought that tasker could help, but no it cannot...
I have a tablet at home, and don't want to receive double notifications

Dark ParanoidAndroid by Daxmax has a "Do not Disturb" toggle. Sounds like that's what you're looking for unless you are on stock maybe? Bottom right toggle

Are Facebook posts not showing up on wear yet. Wear only shows me that I have a new post/notification but I can't actually see what it is without opening the app on the phone.
Facebook needs to add wear support

I get notifications on my watch, just can't read the actual post. Also, I've noticed FB notifications are the only ones that don't vibrate for me.

Do you have "Vibrate" turned on for your phone in the Facebook App Settings?
I get vibrate notifications on my watch, but I also have vibrate turned on in the App settings. Maybe toggle that and see if that fixes it.
However, like the OP, I only get who sent the Facebook Post, not the text of the update. This is a Facebook limitation, not a Wear limitation. They have to add the support.
A company a big and supposedly "forward thinking" a Facebook would have had these features from the beginning

It looks like I didn't have it set to vibrate in the app itself. I thought that any notification sent to the watch would cause it to vibrate. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm not sure if this is a feature or a hindrance yet, to be honest. I do like the option of having some notifications on the watch without vibration, but I'm not sure if the best place for that option to be is in the settings for each individual app. Can be a bit cumbersome to work out, but I should only be setting it up once, in theory.
