I have a F220, the 5" version of E988. It has a built in battery and FlashTool won't proceed because it said battery is low. I can't boot it into Android and am stuck at LG logo.
- I try to take the internal battery out and hook it up to an external charger overnight, but I don't have a voltmeter to test the battery voltage.
Is the phone charging while in the LG booting logo?
UPDATE
I was boot it to download mode with charger attached then turn it off. Now it's charging without the battery logo, it said xxxx.png missing and it shows 85%. So even at 85% the FlashTool still said battery is low.
i did flash too when its going to 85% its restart the phone
did it restart it ?

I have a fully charged battery. Voltage verified by charging overnight with the phone off. Following morning the battery is tested with voltmeter and shows 4.28 volts. Boot the phone into recovery. I'm using TWRP 2.6. In recovery, TWRP shows battery at 8%, not the 100% that it should be. The phone gets stuck in the Sprint boot screen. If I have the phone plugged into the charger, the phone works fine. As soon as I remove the micro USB, the phone shuts down on its own. Try to turn it on and it gets stuck in Sprint boot screen.
I've also tried older versions of TWRP just in case it was the recovery. I've also tried different ROMs. Same issues. So I think I can eliminate the following from the root cause: Recovery and ROM.
Possible causes are circuitry in the battery that would tell the recovery that it is only 8% full or circuitry in the actual phone that isn't recognizing the fully charged battery.
So how do I troubleshoot this?
New battery solved the problem. Anyone know if there is some type of circuitry within the battery that tells the phone the voltage?
I would've thought the phone detects the battery voltage.

A few weeks ago I rooted my phone with the latest version of TWRP and installed Liquid Smooth as my OS. I haven't had any problems with it until today, when it died (as expected, since I did not charge it for a few days) and I began to charge it from 0%. I began to charge it and noticed that it charges ridiculously slow even from a wall outlet. The bigger problem is that the OS detects a different battery level as the recovery tool. For example, I can leave my OS booted up while charging for 30 minutes and it will display something like 20% battery. Then if I shut it off the battery icon and the recovery tool (TWRP) will display anything ranging from 0-20%. It is random, too. One second it could be 15%, then next time I reboot it might say 5%. The problem then is that when I boot up the OS, it uses the percentage that the recovery tool displays. So if I shut off the phone when the battery displayed 30%, then next time I boot it up it will display the battery number from the recovery tool (anything from 0-30%). I have been charging and rebooting my phone for an hour now and it should say something like 60% but it only reads 21%. Is there any way to fix this? What happens when my battery really reaches 100% but my phone keeps charging it because it thinks it is lower? Is this dangerous? Any help would be appreciated.
Hello, i have some troubles with battery, i think it is fault of battery stats got messed up and the tab thinks it's at 100% charge while it's not. When battery goes to about 20% i plug tab and it charge normally bul slow to 50~60% and then after couple of seconds it goes from 50~60% to 100% and stop charging, when i enter in recovery mode i see 20~30% battery and after reboot battery shows 50~60% again. When i plug it again it start charging normally but after it charge about 10~20% it again get some issue and shows 100% and i got to reboot tab and charge again. How to fix this issue?
The phone suddenly stuck at boot screen and was not able to load the system. whenever it loads the system it crashes BUT this issue was over when it was plugged into the charger.. the phone worked fine and battery is 52%.
I charged it fully 100% and wait an hour more and i calibrated it.. but once i removed the charger plug .. 1 min and the phone turned off and started bootlooping not able to boot the system without being plugged to charger.
so i bought a new battery... this battery also made the phone turn off at about 30% " without any warning of low battery" and not boot saying it is 0% and i put it on charge and charge it up to 100 and again stops around 40%/ this battery charges fast tho. according to the % displayed.
I m now going to charge the battery for 4 hours as I read since it is new, it should be charged for 4 hours.
Am i having problem due to battery or the phone is not estimating right the full charge of the battery or the phone have something corrupted or also the new battery is bad?

Please help!!! I flashed a rom on my device and now it is not charging. First, I downloaded ampere when i still had battery and it said that an ac charger was plugged in but was not charging. Then my phone died out of battery and now when i plug a charger in when its off is shows only a battery splash screen but with no persentage. If i try to turn it on it ends again on that screen. Sometimes tho some other screen appeared with the persentage stuck at 1 or 2% and when i tried to turn it on, it did but then after 10 seconds of being on the system did not charge and then it turned off. Please i need help!!!:crying:
