[Q] number of rings after pressing ignore - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

I was wondering if there was a way to set the number of rings it takes to go to voicemail after you press ignore. When someone calls and it rings once then goes to voicemail they know you pressed ignore.

Just press one of the volume buttons when you get a call and it will mute the ring but won't hang up, that way it sounds like it just keeps ringing

XDA11s quick & easy way to stop phone ringing?

Please dont laugh, but the only thing I am missing from my mobile phone, is the ability to turn off the phone (or the ringer) quickly.
I am in and out of places where it would be bad form to have the phone ring and unless I am mistaken, the pda cannot be turned off (completly) and the only way to stop it ringing is to put it into "airline mode" ?
Can I add a short cut to the man menu or something to achieve silence?
Regards,
Peter
You can click on the speaker icon in the top, and chose your setting there.
If you forgett to do this, you can when it starts ringing, just move the volume slider on the side, and it will silence the ring tone, and the caller wont notice this.
You can push the red hardware phone button to reject the call, the caller wil prob. notice this.
You can have a look at PocketZenPhone

Thanks Bosjo
Your welcome
yes Bosjo is correct.
on my XDAlls from 02,
If i get a incomming call at the wrong time i Flick my Vol Slider Down (once) and the ring is Muted for that call.
The Caller will Still hear the Rining and dosent know you have Muted it.
However, If i Wigle the the Vol slider up and down a few times the incomming call is Rejected as if i pressed the red hangup button.

Dial Button Tone

Can anyone tell me how to switch of the DTMF tone on dialling?
THanks
PS - I'm a newbie when it comes to android - got bored with WM.
DO you mean the keyboard tones? DTMF tones are something else entirely!
when in phone press menu and look in settings for keybaord tones.
but be warned, when you turn these off, DTMF tones will also be disabled and your voicemail will stop working, because you wont be able to select menu items when you call automated lines like voicemail.
and yes i know i said they were different things entirely, and they are, it just for some stupid reason, android has linked them together!

Thanks for that. I've turned them off and can still access the menus within the vodafone voicemail service. Just found them annoying especially when in work!

longer ringtone

Anyway to make the ringtone time duration longer?
Either change the number of rings till voicemail picks up or use a longer ringtone. But in the end it will only ring until either you pickup or voicemail answers.

Cannot reject call with Google Voice

Hello- was not able to search for this but here it goes:
Using stock 4.04 but rooted
straightalk ATT as my carrier
when I get a call to my GV number and try to slide (to left) to reject the call, the phone momentarily stops ringing but then starts ringing again until it times out and goes to voicemail- anyone else with this problem?
Mine does the same thing. I think Google Voice will keep placing new calls to any connected phones that hang up until it goes to voicemail. I've gotten it to ring again 2 times a few times. I've been told that you can silence the call with volume down instead of rejecting it, which will actually keep it from ringing until it goes to voicemail, but I haven't tried it yet. Personally, I'm planning on getting rid of Google Voice partly because of this.

GPE call pop right before calling someone.

Does anyone hear a sound pop coming from the speakers for half a second before making a phone call - happens right before the call screen comes onto the phone.
Try calling a contact and listen for a little pop sound right when you click the contact to call. If you don't hear it the first time, try again. Let me know if you guys have this little sound.
Put your phone on vibrate before clicking someone to call.
(THIS IS NOT DURING THE CALL, RIGHT BEFORE THE CALL HAPPENS - FROM THE TIME YOU CLICK THE CALL BUTTON ON THE CONTACT TO WHEN THE PHONES DIALER POPS UP TO CALL).
Make sure the phone is close to your ears as it's harder to hear further away

Just turn off tone of your numpad when dialing in audio settings and problem solved. Tell me if this helped.
