yeah right
you can get ota only regarding gennext rom only if the developer has included support for a ota updater app which i think is not there so no ota clearly
you can get ota if you are on stock rom

OTA update over rooted device?

I was reading that there's an OTA update launching (currently only in Germany), and I was wondering, so i would know in the future, if I could update my rooted S4. Would the software update interfere with root? Will it take it off or what?
I'm on stock rom btw

Most likely you would loose ROOT with an OTA update.
The only way you would not loose root with an OTA update
would be if the update did not contain a kernel.
Good luck!
You can't update if you're rooted. Just wait for the devs to incorporate the update into their roms.

Did some research.
You can update if you have root, but you will lose root, just like the second post said. I use a the stock rom, I don't use any custom roms so I can't depend on your second statement.

If you try to update while rooted, the phone will say updates not available on a modded device.

^^^ what he said
Get the latest firmware from Sammobile, install it via Odin, check the "keep root" option, voilĂ , now you have the latest stock rooted rom on the block.

It's the firmware bug. You might have to wait for next release. I am on 4.1.2. I tried upgraded my phone to Official 4.2.2 XME and I found out it is too laggy so I've revert back.
Else, go for CM10.1 or other modded ROM's such as Xperia Flavour, Slimbean etc...
Can u give me a slimbean ROM Download URL plz bro..

Updating to 4.2.2 problem

Hey guys I'm using 4.1.2 on my galaxy grand and I'd like to upgrade to 4.2.2. Problem is, when I try to software update it it just says software already up to date. Is this a regional problem? I'm in Maldives. Whatever the problem is I'd like a solution please.
Sent from my GT-I9082 using xda app-developers app
May be better download the latest build in 4.2.2 I9082XXUBMJ3 and flash via odin
