While I do like Swyping, I find that it becomes difficult as one's hands get a tiny bit sweaty or even dirty. You fingers seem to stick to the screen which makes Swyping fairly difficult and almost impossible to be accurate. While I do try to be as clean as possible, sometimes your hands get sweaty for whatever reasons such as if you wear gloves or keep them in your pockets for a while.
I am just wondering if there is a screen protector out there that allows for a totally smooth surface, despite any sweat, dirt or other things that could be on your fingers? I recently got the Realooks and while they are very clear and does a good job resembling the feeling of the bare screen, it has the same issues while Swyping. There may even be a little bit more of a finger resistance with the Realooks on.
I was thinking and thought that maybe a screen protector with a matte finish would be ideal for Swyping. Matte screen protectors are smooth and most are anti-fingerprint which I assume would be very good for Swyping.
Has anyone had any experience with a matte finish screen protector while Swyping?
Any suggestions overall?
i use an anti-glare screen protector from Clarivue (.com) that is matte finish and has a very smooth surface that makes using swype very comfortable and easy. I used clarivue on my N1 as well when i had swype, and i recently got the captivate and i couldnt live without the smooth surface from the screen protector so i had to buy another pack. it is anti scratch and anti smudge, although from what ive seen, it does affect the clarity of the amoled to a certain extent.
I use whatever screen protector that my AT&T store sold - works well with swype.
i have something similar to the invisashield body shield but i cant remember who made mine. i ordered off ebay an in came in an envelope with no branding. like someone with a laser etcher/cutter got a hold of the material and made it in his garage. it has the typical invisishield orange peel look but feels like it has natural oils in it. it is always very slick and doesn't show finger prints. it never feels greasy or sticky or dry. just slightly oily but i have heard that's not typical of the invisishield brand so it might not be the same material. if i come across the add ill post it.
also antiglare protectors are good for that but the ones i bought had bad adhesive on the edges, also i find that anti glare have a good amount of reflection to them and are only better than hard plastic protectors that can be milky, i can read through an invisishield in sunlight better than an anti glare and no screen protector at all is better than that.
Skinomi...I dig it.

Agreed.
Plus these screen protectors cover the entire front of the phone. Can't even tell it's on there. I've seen others that only cover the display area.

For $10 and you can go buy them locally, it was ideal. Seems to work just as well as without the protector.

I want to find a wet apply screen proctecor (Horrible at putting screen protectors on)that covers everything but the catch is i don't want a rubber feel to it i want it to feel like glass or smooth like plastic. I don't care about glare or finger prints because they can come off. Like I said all I want is wet apply,no rubber feel to touch, doesn't take away from the beautiful screen.
Please help and I looked at the poll they had but didnt hint on the info im looking for.

I have the XO Skin protector and while there is some tackiness to it, it's not as bad as others I've had in the past. I still use Swype without issue.
I don't think any of the wet application protectors available will suit your requirements. They all have some degree of "grip" to them. The only "smooth like glass" protectors I know of are dry applications.
Oh i see lol well what about the flex?
Xtreme Guard has been working great for me. No orange peel and they are only $1.99.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/23071073586...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_2415wt_1378
I find the XO Skins to be the most forgiving for micro bubbles under the screen protector. The only time that I haven't had a perfect application of the screen protector, was when I got a piece of lint or fiber under it.
Looks good and lasts pretty long with warranty to back it up. Only thing is its expensive compared to some you can find on ebay, but I believe there is a 40% discount code floating around somewhere from memorial day sale
XO skins man. Fits perfect and barely noticeable. If you use a case make sure you get the case fit. Love it. Used to have the zagg invisible shield but IMO opinion XO skins destroys it.

Like the guy on top said. Make sure it'll fit your case. I had a flex screen protector and it felt smooth but still rubber like. My cruzerlite case ripped it right off. My otterbox defender left impressions on the screen protector. Try a dry one. They're only $2 for 6 of them with free shipping.

i found on Verizon store a 3pack of dry screen protectors for $11 ;-) (i don't like the wet ones) it fits perfect on my GN from Sprint ... is really hard to tell that there is an SP on it .

Take the Brando Ultra Clear. You won't find anything better.
I'm trying to buy a screen protector preferably with a matte finish. I like the fact that its a smooth finish allowing for easy gliding with your fingers. I also looked up crystal clear ones but I do not know how they feel to the touch. Also I'm trying to look for ones with good cutouts (NOT like this: http://www.amazon.com/Fosmon-Anti-G...8-6&keywords=galaxy+s3+screen+protector+matte). Can anyone give me some input or links on amazon?
Have you looked into the Spigen SGP Flex HD screen protectors?

It's wet application, so I don't know how comfortable you feel about installing them.

Do your fingers glide across it easily or does it kinda stick? I've put invisible shields on my phones before and I hate that its sticky (even when I first applied it) and the orange peel/yellowing effect
From what I know, the Flex HD is pretty smooth to the touch and you won't have to worry about any orange peel/yellowing effect because it's a high quality product.

not sure about the matte finish or the glide for you, but i can tell you i've had 3 screen protectors on my galaxy s3.
first there was the ZAGG. expensive, full body, etc. the screen protector was decent enough, very plyable and stretchy. uses that press and peel install method. cutouts for the phone suck though. they are cut-downs, not cut outs. more area is exposed than needed. i never did like the feel of it either once it was on. that and the store guy goofed the install, so...tore that off.
then there was the protector that came with Incipio case i bought. way different material. stiff and rigid, a harder plastic feel than the soft plyable ZAGG. i think this is that "crystal" type protector. but the cutouts were worse on this than the ZAGG. even more area exposed because of big cut downs on the top and bottom (lots of area exposed up top basically stretching end to end) i did install it though, and i liked the feel and glide more than the ZAGG. it seems more "slippery". unfortunately the top two corners never took (they are awfully pointy due to the big exposure up top). they seemed to be bent up in the packaging. and so that screen protector also came off (i do like the incipio case though).
now i'm onto the Skinomi. came with a skin. the cut outs are actual cut outs. no cut downs, no extra exposure. install was a little harder due to alignment, i swear i think they cut it small. i did get everything to line up eventually though. old school install with the spray bottle. material of the Skinomi is probably more ZAGG than Incipio-like, but it's not quite as plyable as the ZAGG. I do actually like the feel on my finger with the Skinomi. It's not the same feel as the Incipio though, it has a little more "sticky" to it than the hard protector did. pretty pleased with it tho, and it's working thus far.... :good:
anyway, if that helps, cool. if not, thanks for the vent.
Moshi is nice and anti glare... It does cover edge to edge but the blue trim covers up the blue pebble finish. I have the sgp nano optics on the way...

I picked up the Flex HD and installation went smooth. Only thing I didn't like was the spray bottle included which sucked. After installation, the screen is smooth as silk, very little "tug" or any of that yellowing effect. Best part is, it comes with 2:good:

Anyone plan to sell their second piece of their flex hd? =)
I saw in a review video from a guy who posted it on this forums said it had a rubber feel to it. I'm a swype user and I hate when my finger gets stuck because of that rubber feeling. When I felt matte for the first time, it glided so easily that I would never have problems swyping.

I was never a fan of Zagg products, until I had the HD screen protector installed on my S3. Perfectly clear, and its 100x smoother than regular Invisishield products. Id recommend it to anyone.
so I've had a chance to try a few different screen protectors already and I've found that the edge of the S3 display has a slight curve making it difficult for screen protectors to stay down.
the edges on 3 different sp's have done this. I've tried a full screen and then a few that were smaller than the display and still have issues.
The issue is that thick screen protectors just lift up off the curved display over time..
It sounds like wet SP installs are going good though?

I snagged the Incipio Sicrylic (sp?) off ebay. It's the soft rubber case with the two pieces. A snug rubber piece, and an outer "shell" that snaps onto the rubber case. Works really well actually. My daily case at the moment (better than the vent samsung with coin holder, and a straight skin from skinomi - i have the carbon skin)
I could post a link, but I'm a newb and so that's not allowed. I'll try to take a picture or sometghing and update this or my earlier post. Spent all this money on acc's...might as well share with folks so they don't have to repeat my mistakes....
and to the other poster who mentioned wet installs going well - i'll have to agree. vs the peel install on zagg, and the rgular install on the incipio crystal, i've ben happiest with my work and the protector after the wet install on the skinomi.

I am on my second flex hd and I am taking it off. It's been a week and the "rainbow-like" specks or clouds are appearing. It could be the adhesive that's turning into like colorful sandy appearance. Kinda annoying.
I ordered the Spectre but I am not gonna see it any sooner.
I've used dry application protectors on my other phones but its not going to work with the curved glass of GS3. Good luck.

Thanks, I'm going to pick up mine now.
would like to recomend this screen protector to anyone. It is well worth the money even though it is a water base protector, it feels like glass.i already wasted to much money on useless screen protector with my GS3 cause i thought Zagg was overprice (and still do) .
i bought the Xtreme guard = crap, skinomi = it was alright didnt like the rubbery feel and went with film screen protector.
I bought the Tech armor HD which i think it looks amazing but does not cover the entire screen and it would get scratch easily. i used 5 film in 2 weeks. After doing my research i heard of the HD version of invisibleshield and that it feel like glass.
It is amazing and it doesn't affect the image quality of the screen, the only problem would be if you are willing to pay the high price ($25) for it.
the RETAIL price for HD is $19.99 and $14.99 for the orange peal (but can hold a car) version if you buy from them directly.
also every few months they have 50% off or buy one/get one free sales..
http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield...es-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
im thinking about getting protection for the back also then i dont have to worry about scratches.. if you have the full body protection the only thing you need to worry about is the bezel and corners...... which is actually a big deal
but im going to try to not have a cover with this phone and see how long it lasts... with insurance through bestbuy i think i will be fine
Is this screen protector attached with the wet method? Also do you see an orange peel effect?
No orange peel.. It's like a normal screen protector.. Only in hd.. I'm serious lol its beautiful.. Non orange peel no funny texture almost can't even tell it's there..and yes you put it on with the "very wet"method.

After trying the Tech armor HD dry application (film) will never again use dry skin. First, it does not last. i went with 5 screen protector in 2 weeks. I love wet application but hate the rubbery fill. I hate regular zagg, bestskinever, skinomi, xtremeguard and other wet protector. This zagg invisibleshield HD is different.
The surface is smooth glass, so it feels like a dry application protector but has the durability of a wet one. no orange pill or rainbow effect like i was getting with the xtreme guard. $20 might seen to much for a screen protector but, trying different one i already spend much more than that. $20 and lifetime warranty for having the best screen protector, if i knew how good it was i would have bought it from the get go.
If you want scratches all over your screen protector then dont get this. Has happened on multiple replacements and with NO heavy use. This has been discussed before.
Save your money. Get a dry application screen protector. SGP
Zagg Protectors suck. There are many wet protectors that are cheaper and better than Zagg protectors. I only use Best Skin Ever as my protectors of choice. They are cheap and last the entire life of the product. For example, the screen only protector is 8.99 and the full body is 11.99 I believe.
To those that say dry protectors are better than wet, i'm sorry but that is absolutely not the case. I rotate between both types on different products and wet is definitely better all the way around. It takes a bit of work to apply, but once it's on, it's self healing and if done in a stemmed bathroom, it's impossible to get any lint or dust underneath the protector during the application process.
Dry protectors do scratch and are not self-healing. If applied right, a wet protector is visibly non-existent on your product.

Zagg wet protector sucks just like bestskinever which also suck. The product in this thread is Zagg invicibleshield HD. After trying alot of wet protectors this is the best by a mile. Best of all it feel like glass and not rubbery.

Nope, the Zagg HD Dry is what T-Mobile was selling when the S3 came out launch day. Unfortunately, that was the screen protector I had to go with at the time because there were no other screen protectors out on launch day. That was a horrible mistake. That thing has a horrible texture and it was picking up lint and dust right after I applied it. I took it off literally 4 hours after I applied it. Read the reviews on a google search on Best Skin Ever, they are cheap and the quality is well worth the price. The company even prides themselves on offering low-cost, high quality skins and they are not lying...its an excellent product.

You are absolutely right, I will never buy a Zagg product again. Their original skin was OK, but even then I didnt really care for them. This new HD material is garbage though.
Try a BSE man...I guarantee you won't be disappointed. I used it on my iPad 3, Kindle Fire, and even my laptop. I eventually went to a dry protector for my iPad 3 because my case was lifting the BSE.
I have the XGear Fantom right now, so obviously that feels quite a lot like glass
Unfortunately, I have scratched it and I'm looking to replace it soon. I really don't feel like shelling out another $30 for a screen protector, so does anyone know of any screen protectors, wet or dry, that have a glass-like texture to them? For example, my HTC One X has the Zagg Invisible Shield HD on it. Unfortunately, they don't seem to offer the HD for the Galaxy Nexus. Despite its slight orange peel, the screen protector doesn't feel much different from unprotected glass, and I've grown quite accustomed to it.
Any screen protectors match this description? Preferably not the matte variety, because they tend to distort screen quality enough to bother me.

I have it -- it is not very glass like, in fact it may be the opposite. It is very soft, soft as in putting pressure on it using your fingernail leaves a dent on it. Granted, it heals itself very fast, but there's one dent I had that wouldn't heal. Good thing the Flex comes with 2 protectors in the package, I'm using that extra now. The great thing about it is that it does cover the whole front.
For glass feel get a tempered glass protector...
But I have An anti fingerprint protector on mine.. and as much as I hate the feel and the way it makes the screen look. I don't miss those smudges...
I got one of these and it's the best screen protector I've ever used. It's got a little most friction than glass, but it's glossy smooth and is way easier to keep clean than the screen itself was. Directions say to let it set for 12-24 hours after installation though.
