Root MANY ANDROID! [Upd: 20.07.2014] - Updated: New Z2 Root by CubeandCube

Hi,
i made a small script which is able to root ICS/JB phones. It uses a remount timing issue in Androids "adb restore" service.
So normally it should work on nearly all ICS/JB devices, for some it won't but the idea may work in a slightly modded version
There is a case for Xperia T and Xperia S,P etc. phones, this phones run ICS but don't have android's native restore with adb, Sony has added a own custom "Backup&Restore" app, the script handles this cases too, just choose the correct option!

Notice:
Normal Mode will not wipe any other data, dont worry! (only maybe your backgroud vanishes )
Special Mode CAN wipe your data, Rollback SHOULD restore, but to be sure backup you data somehow!
New Mode SHOULD be able to root all new Sony Firmwares like 2.55 and higher where Normal mode was failing [thanks Goroh]

Since the U is a NXt phone it should work

For which phone? IF you are using a Xperia NXT you have to choose option 3) LT26,LT22 etc.

Not working on a Stock Xperia S... doesnt ask to restore... just reboots... and fails to chmod

It works here, have you started the restore app ? On Xperia S you have to start the "Backup&Restore" app from menu and select the backup to restore manually.

You need ICS because it utilizes backup & restore app which is one of the default app in ICS

fakebackup.ab is the file which is used for XperiaT and other devices which can do directly "adb restore"
vpnfaker is from tabletS rooting trick, i removed it now because someone else has posted already a good version in TabletS forum

In your batch file you have the following lines:

By choosing 4 the script won't do anything as nothing is defined for that operation.

The "hacked" backup is not there to restore...

Please connect device with ADB-Debugging enabled now....

it is not a application
its a rom based on fxp with some z2/z3 ui

i have picked z1c option in aroma and after it boots everything is huge (as if z1 was applied)
edit: nvm, works after reinstall

1st) Problems with market.. can i re-install only its?
i'll try to explain: some apps like "clash of clanes", "instagram".. are not recognized like compatibile. In add to its, some apps like facebook and whatsapp have the kitkat interface. Seems that market recognize a kitkat version.
2nd) I can't change background. It's related to an album's app, i think something like "album cut..".
I'm in testing

I like this ROM but i'll wait for more reviews.

Nice and stable rom. Most of useless bloat removed.
Missing some basic functions and settings from other roms like CM or AOSP - for example editable nav bar buttons, quick toggle hold for opening related settings etc...
But i like sony camera app and some other sony specific features, so at the moment i'll stick with sony based roms

Can any1 confirm if the High-Res Audio (DSEE HX) is working? (It says the option has been enabled in this ROM)

Thank you for this great rom,much better then rockz1c(that most of the time bootloops)
For some reason camera is working awesome in this rom(even better then on kk) all on manual

Been running for a day. No issues whatsoever with install, ric, root or play store incompatibilities. All good.

i never saw on any rom (custon or stock) a glove mode for Z1c. so i think this not exist.

Excellent ROM with all of the useless crap removed, but I can't seem to install Sony's stock photo editor (from the What's New app), and get Messaging to work properly while on Ultra Stamina mode.
Would really appreciate if the dev could work on this. No pressure though!
