No, just simple white, there is no RGB-LED unfortunately.

is it possible to make the notification light stay on until the notification has been dealt with? instead of the 2 mins or so that it just stays on?

Looks like you have to use light flow, the free version only allows certain features to receive customization. you have to buy the one for additional apps to light up

I get a log file out of LightFlow and it seemed to mention 'rgb' a few times, what do you make of that?

I assume it is just a generic thing, but I'd be interested to see why you think it might be there.

That's a good shout, I know there is a video of a demo Moto G with a red LED flashing away so perhaps the costs became too great for the production models.

Yep I've seen that, that's from a preproduction unit.
shame how it's been dropped, surely it didn't contribute to costs that much.
Inside I'm hoping its just a software glitch lol but its not likely it seems. There's always hope lol maybe somebody can find someway to activate if it is there

Maybe I am talking b.s here, but isnt white always a combination of RGB? I mean wouldnt it otherwise be either R, G or B according to its wavelength? White is a combination of all those. So it should be a question of implementation. CMIIW

Not necessarily, according to Wikipedia: "the development of the first white LED... employed a Y3Al5O12:Ce, or "YAG", phosphor coating to mix down-converted yellow light with blue to produce light that appears white."
ie, some white LEDs only produce white light when you stick a voltage across them.

Think of all the "things that would cost only a few cent" - sum that up and you are at a phone with a $300 price tag. I do understand Moto and think, they did everything right.

Does Lightflow control frequency on the Moto G correctly?
With the absence of color I'd like to make like a Rapid Flash, Slow Flashing, Solid cycling light for like Text messages, missed calls, and emails respectively
The frequency setup with lightflow works. I use a fast frequency for charging and permanently on for fully charged.

LOL are you kidding me? - Using the phone will kill the battery. Unless you have brightness down all the way and using a black only theme this post is useless. Who doesn't want to show off their phone. Plus we are talking about perhaps a 10% difference in battery drain at most.

I also know a lot of people who like to customize their phone (theme and such) just to impress others.
To each their own I guess. I personally couldn't care less, therefore, a white theme is pretty much horrible due to the batterylife. And no, the difference is not a measly 10%, far from it, very very far from it.
I personally like the look of the white theme. The original poster requested a white theme and hopefully it will get done.
If anyone does not like the white theme there is essentially no reason to reply to this thread.
There are plenty of posts here to keep everyone interested, we dont need pointless negative replies.

Guys, you both have no idea about battery drain of white amoled.
Check this forum out:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=660853
It states if you are starring at the BACKGROUND for 1 hour, you have significant battery drain. Now I ask you, how much you stay on the main page when you use your phone? I personally check time, and click on icons. That's all. The rest, browsing, games, applications, movies, reading, calling are all different colors, so I'd say don't bother too much about it.
I agree that the battery consumption would not be too much. Maybe make it a little grey.
The white status bar may help in remedying the burn in on that area.

I was thinking about that, but theres no easy way to switch between them so the uv and IR would be useless.
I guess I should've specified. The sensor can see IR, but to get the true IR effect, the sensor needs to ONLY see the IR spectrum. Or maybe you could devise some IR filter? Those pics look like a regular sensor capturing IR light, which looks kinda weak and purplish. It's cool though, sounds like a sweet mod and you should go for whatever is most useful to you.

That is probably the only thing I miss from my old Droid 2. I'm thinking that would be more complex than changing the camera LEDs though. Plus, how would the phone know that it has those additional colors to utilize? Maybe an app like "blink" or something..

one of the few thing s i hate about htc is the fact that they never implement this..
on a side note.. htc one x has capacitance buttons instead of softkeys in the screen..
what if for future htc releases, the shift the notification light to the middle home key button with muti-led lighting like the galaxy nexus?!! i think if many people like this idea, we should start an online petition to submit to htc to make our thoughts known!

Has anyone with the g3 noticed any issues with text contrast issues where it looks like an old vga monitor that hadnt been auto adjusted? If there is black text on a grey or coloured background it has a white glow, if its white text on a dark background it has a black glow
From what ive read this appears to be due to the sharpness setting used so if anyone knows how to adjust the display sharpness that would be great

Had a bit of time with the phone now, installing apps (well watching Google auto-install my apps anyway) and there is a bit of glow, but it is no where near as bad as what Raider seems to have, its barely noticeable at all.
The colour contracts will take some getting used to, as it is very different to the nexus 5 that I have been using recently.

Ok. Now I see it. In person must be more visible and annoying.
I hear from a friend that has one that its not too bad except for on LGs menus and home screen. Its like they have added a border around thier text lables to make it "easier" to read.
My friend said it is not there with an aftermarket launcher (nova, ect). So it is an LG text setting and not a screen issue.
**If somone else here with an LGG3 could load nova to verify that would be nice.**
