Android Revolution HD 31.6 98% Useage - Verizon HTC One (M7)

Hello all. HTC One International sim free
Just like to see if anyone can give me some info.I installed Android Revolution HD 31.6.When I look at usage it says Android system usage is 98% did a dirty flash then clean flash but they said the same thing. And it was draining my battery very fast. Now gone back to AR13.3 and Android system usage is 18% and battery is back to how it was.
Is that 98% usage correct for 31.6?..

Hi I have been Using the Wildfire for almost a year now, awesome phone i love it, but off late having issues with battery.
Full Charge shows 11 hours. but hardly get 3 to 4 hours. As i have noticed My Cell Standby and Idle Takes the most almost 65 % battery usage than the apps or WIFI use or my GPRS.
I am not using a lot Apps only a handful, 7 to be exact. Can anyone find out what could be the issue and help me

[Q] battery drains after custom rom installed.

Hello.
Does anyone have a problem with battery life?
I got my new htc one x last week and rooted it 2 days ago.
The rom that i installed is InsertCoin v6.4.5 and also installed franco kernel r9.
I really like the combination of these two except battery life. I have been using a lot of android phones and never have a experience like this before.
Battery just drains quickly. It droped from 100% to 60% in 2 hours. Im not a heavy user and didnt install many apps or any games. I can see that it doesnt drain much when its off but when im using it, i feel like battery decreses 1% every 2 minutes.
I installed rom - more than 3 times - when the battery was charged 100% and im not using any task killer or battery saver etc. Moreover, battery life was fine before i rooted HOX.
Is it only me having this problem?

There can be many reasons for your battery drain ranging from weak phone signal to power consuming apps running. I would suggest to use something like BetterBatteryStats apps to see what's draining your battery.
With energy rom and franco r9, I am getting 12-24 hours depending on usage.

Couldnt figure out with betterbatterystats apps. There is nothing suspicious thing. Well.. i have probably a bad luck with InsertCoin rom. I will try Android Revolution HD + stock kernel.

mate if u read thoroughly through francos thread, u will realize that the kernel needs time to settle. atleast 2 days with 2 full charges. yes, u will have abnormal battery drain at first, especially that u flashed both rom and kernel. just give give 2 days or 3 and u will notice the difference. hope this helps.

So thats what people say 'stablize'
I saw people mention that but i thought my case was completely different. Cuz its been 2 days since i installed insertcoin+franco.kernel.
Thank you. I will give another try then.
Full charge? i tried googling how to full charge mobile phone but couldnt find it. Is there any special way to full charge?
One thing that one should always do after installing a custom ROM is to wipe the battery statistics.
Simply go to the recovery, then to the advanced menu and wipe 'Battery Stats' from there.
This solves a lot of battery related problems for a lot of people.

Battery says are wiped when you get close to 100% charge, and hold the stats you see in the power options. Has no effect on battery life.
I noticed on the pkmn rom I had bad battery drain for no reason but on leedroid I had none.
I had nothing installed and no wake locks but I could watch the % drop like a stone.
Try going back to stock kernel first see if that works. If not try a different rom.

Me to experience battery drain at first time when flashing charmeleon. As i love the tweaks over there i can't switch the rom. So i just reflashed it.
Let me say how i did again and there is no battery drain after that.
1)Erasche cache manually(fastboot erase cache)
2)Use charmeleon boot.img flasher v5.0.0
3)Then again erase cache manually (fastboot erase cache)
4)Then goto recovery and factory reset, erase cache and dalvik cache, wipe battery stats.
5)Then installed rom with full wipe and there is no battery drain after that.
Guys try this method. You will get no battery drain.

Weird..I guess i'll try and reflash the stock image again.
On Android 4.1 I have been using my Nexus 7 for 4-5 days straight without having to worry about the battery life.
Since the update to 4.2 the battery life is unacceptably low. After 1d 6h 34m 13s it is down to 27% and I only used it for web browsing and facebook.
I have a screenshot from a while ago (on Android 4.1.2) where it's been down to 27% as well (almost the same usage as today/yesterday), but it's been taken after 5d 5h 30m 48s.
It looks like 4.2 is a battery killer

If by settle down you mean "after you've set your phone up, blah, blah, done with new phone syndrome, etc.", then sure. But there is no actual settling down. My battery life is exactly the same as it was on 4.1. I've noticed no abnormal drains at all the past couple of days. A good 17 hours and about 3 hours of screen time before I plug it in at night, which is more than enough.
Right, then why did i only beat 18h/3h screen on second cycle, now i did 22h/3h30 screen on the third cycle? It takes some time for the new install to know the limits of battery.
And i didn't say JOP40C has better battery life than JZO54K, for example.

I have no clue. I don't know how you use your device. And your usage pattern could have changed. There are too many factors to include in this to say.
When I posted this on my Nexus I saw that this didn't come here so I have not noticed this my thread!
So i did dirty update from my modded 4.1.2 Takju version to Takju's 4.2 with by wiping and flashing all again without losing files..
And when I flashed all again to FIX some issues, (factory image flashing..) and now battery life is something 20% better!

[Q] 4.1.2 battery drain

Hi!
So I have updated my unrooted Note 2 to version 4.1.2 and below describes what happened:
1. Battery drain very fast, can't even last 24 hours. The battery details show "Android System" chugging all my battery juices.
2. On 2nd day, I tried "Factory reset" on Settings menu but still my battery drains very fast by "Android System".
3. On 4th day, I installed Kies on my PC and did the "Firmware Upgrade and Initialization". Noticed an improvement in battery life but after 4 hours, I noticed "Android OS" is now taking his turn to chug all my battery juices.
4. On 5th day, woke up and noticed battery drained >20% by "Android OS".
5. 6th day (today), I did another "Firmware Upgrade and Initialization" on Kies and now I noticed "Android System" took over and took over >29% battery usage in under 1 hour.
6. Now, I am running "Firmware Upgrade and Initilization" for the 3rd time and is hoping for the best.
Question:
Should I root my device and downgrade to 4.1.1? Before update to 4.1.2, it can last almost 2 days.
Thanks for your help!!
I had a similar problem and discovered that "gpsd" on my phone was causing the drain. This system also required other systems whiqh together used about 45% of the battery. The "gpsd" is the system samsung uses to track your phone (if you have enabed it). It did not cause this drain on my phone prior to the update.
I hope this helps.
Thanks...

On average I also don't observe a significant overall battery drain. Am currently projecting about 7-8 hours of screen time which is about the same as with before. Also having the same very low overnight drain.
However a few oddities:
Android system is higher on the battery charts than in 4.1.1.
I was playing nfs_mw before and after the update, and there is a significant increase in battery drain in 4.1.2. A full battery used to give over 4 hours of gametime, now gives just over 1 hour.
I've also not seem anyone else mentioning this and I'm not sure if this is related to battery but:
4.1.2 is absolutely perfect butter smooth
Every animation and transition had been completely fluid and going from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 was like upgrading from 50% to 100% project butter.

why is that?
I have downgraded but version 4.1.1 doesn't give me the option to switch to 2G only data mode!! Only 2G/3G/4G or 3G only!
This is essential as where I live my 3G keeps cutting out, and I get frequent loss of service. Is there any way to get this option back???
Roughly about 1% per 7-8hours depending on the current battery level, are you losing more ?
I downgraded to 4.1.1 by downloading the appropriate firmware from sammobile.com and flashing as pda with odin. I then flashed the perseus kernel which has the sudden death bug fix built in. Perseus is not prerooted but it doesn't have to be, at least it protects the phone from sudden death as I had the faulty chip in mine. I got 40 hours standby and 4 hours screen on out of it now, all accounts syncing with Google now and Samsung tracking service. happy to have switched back to 4.1.1, all I miss is the snappier s note from 4.1.2.

Last night I disabled "Google Location Services". It is under Settings > Accounts > Google > Location Settings
This is what I noticed.
Before I sleep, after I finished charging at 16min my Android Services spiked up almost 50%...
When I woke up, this is what I saw... 9% total drain and Android Services went up to 54%...
Not too bad comparing to a few days ago when I first updated.
So is there anything I can do without needing to root my phone?
Thanks!

I have the same problem like You
Can confirm this issue. Used to get 5-6 hours screen on time on 4.1.1 on a normal day (moderate to heavy usage).
Now I can't even reach 3 hours on 4.1.2. I already did a hard reset. No change.
Can installing a custom ROM solve this?

Android System and Android OS draining my battery since updating to 4.1.2

Bone stock, not rooted or rommed.
My battery life used to be phenomenal. I would check at the end of basically every day and averaged 4-8 hours of actual Screen On time. The Screen would account for 40-55% of the usage, followed by all of the*apps*that I had used that day. Android System and Android OS would be pretty far down on the list.*
Now that I have 4.1.2, I'm lucky to hit 3 hours of Screen On time. And now Screen, Android System, and Android OS are accounting for 20% EACH.
I haven't changed any settings or the way that I used the phone. The only thing that has changed is the update.*Is anybody else experiencing this?
I've gotten bettery battery life since 4.1.2, significantly better. Try to perform a factory reset or it could be a faulty device.

Yep and I have more or less tried everything including tweaks galore, every suggestion I coukd find, and freezing several dozen apps.
Nothing can be done about this and my guess is Samsung have made an absolute mess of the update. My HTC loses maybe 1% overnight on a bad day, this loses way over 10%.
I'll prob end up switching back to 4.1.1 but unfortunately it doesnt have the tap to reflow feature in the browser (which I use a lot)... I wonder if I can remove it via titanium and restore the newer version which would have reflow on 4.1.1 ??
I have the same problem. As soon as I took my phone off the charger this morning it dropped to 99%. On 4.1.1 it used to last for a good 20 minutes before dropping to 99%. Also last night after about 6 hours of screen time Android System was at the top of my list. And that is with 20 or so system apps frozen or deleted from running.
What's the easiest way to go back to 4.1.1?

Well I dunno.. I have tried everything and there is definitely a battery drain issue. If it is caused by ebay/whatsapp + facebook, then I'm curious as to why they don't show up in battery usage or betterbatterystats... and I'm also curious why the exact same setup on my HTC EVO 3D does cause these horrendous idle battery drains.

Yeah already done all that and there doesnt actually seem to be anything using over like 5%.. I have elimated the higher one yet it still drains ovwr 10% at nite. Or in general idleness.
What I became accustomed to with my previous phones was 0% or 1% drain over many hours if the screen was off. Not 2% or more an hour.

That's specifically my DBT rom (stock everything as well) and I've had battery issues and to be honest, it's still better than most other phones, but I'm getting about 40% less life out of my device now.
I have flashed again, I've reset, and deleted everything and still no luck. It's something with the ROM. I hope the next update will fix it. If it doesn't, I'll revert back to 4.1.1 because I would go to bed with 50% battery life, now I have to charge in the middle of the day if I want to get through a long work day with lots of use.
