Hello, I updated my N7 2013 16GB to 4.4 via adb-sideload the day it was available and in the past week I had two little (3~4Mb) OTA updates that were automatically flashed using TWR, and now the wifi connection on my device seems to be broken:
When I reboot the tablet wifi is working as usual, but after a minute or so it stops loading things, it seems connected but no data is transfered. My Galaxy S2 meanwhile is working fine.
I tried several networks and routers, bluetooth is off, Tasker profiles are off, and disabling wifi and re-enabling it doesn't fix anything...
Do you know what could be wrong?
Thank you very much!

I have been using Note 2 N7100 running 4.1.1 for a week now but only a couple of days ago started experiencing WiFi connectivity issue at home. The problem I have is it would lose Internet connection and then disconnects from my wifi router. When I opened the wifi menu it says my router is not in range. Turned off wifi and then on again and it connected just fine. However, after a while I lose Internet connection again and then router connection as well. In addition, my PC and other mobile devices started having connection issues. So, I restart my router and everything seems to work normal again until I turn on wifi on my Note 2. The problem reoccured again until I decided to turn off wifi on my Note 2 and so far my wifi connection is stable. I did try to use static IP and for a moment it seemed to work fine yesterday but today it messed up again right after I got home and turned on wifi on my Note 2. I also reset my router to factory setting yesterday and I don't want to reset every day.
I remembered that I did a software update at work on my Note 2 two days ago but it's an update from Samsung. I forgot what the update was for. Is there any chance to undo this update just in case it caused the wifi problem but without having to root the phone?
try to add the ip and mac address of your note 2 into the router.
it was working fine up until a couple days ago, then i installed that netgear aircard app and it somehow messed up my connection to that aircard? ive uniinstalled that app
hi, im suddenly having trouble connecting to my wifi HOT spot aircard ...all my other devices can connect to it fine so im positive the problem is with this nexus 7 FHD
it will connect but then after few seconds autodisconnect...must have tried this 100 times it keeps doing this :
connect OK,,, 2 seconds later, DISCONNECT , ive tried rebooting nexus 7, same thing happens
is there a way to RESET all the wifi cache on the nexus FHD? similar to how to wipe data on any apps in apps settings? thanks
my nexus 7 connects FINE to my home wifi, no issues there but just to the aircard hotspot it won't connect and stay connected
im rooted using elemental X kernel , old version, and running KK 4.4.2 still

The only two things that I can think of to suggest would be to go into wifi settings and have it "Forget" that network then reconnect. If that doesn't work maybe fastboot flash the system image. I don't know which system files would relate to your problem, probably something inside the etc/wifi folder, just guessing.
ended up, changing my aircards wifi security from WPA/WPA2 PSK to WPA AES or something and that did the trick... my nex7 was able to connect and STAY connected
maybe its finicky about what encrytpion witi security it can connect to

That's weird! I've always used WPA/WPA2 PSK with no issues even for tethering to my N5 or One X and I've done a lot of tethering over the last couple of years. Glad you got it sorted out!
Every day or two, wifi stops working on my N7 (wifi version) running 4.4.4. This only started about a week ago. If I switch to another wifi connection, then switch back, or turn wifi off then back on, it works fine (for a while).
Wifi continues to work on all of my other devices, so I doubt it's the router.
Any idea?
Hi,
I've the same issue ! My wifi disconnect some times and it is not very quick ! Only 54Mb/s instead of 350Mb/s (that is what I have with my laptop).
Hi, I've tried all the troubleshooting steps on how to fix wifi connection but it seems there's no luck.
I've already change the firmware but still no connection.
The problem is, I can connect to a wifi but it has no connection. It will only "saved, secured" and that's all.
Anyone can help?
Same issue here.
I'm starting to think that the eletronics trash can is the solution...
My Samsung Galaxy T-520 detects all Wi-Fi networks, but it doesn't connect to any. The status shows "saved, secured", but it fails to connect. I tried everything, switching on/off passpoints, bluetooth and whatever, even factory resets (twice). I also tried to start the device without the Google account, skipping everything. I also tried a cell phone access point, it's all useless. All my other devices work, so it's not the router. Maybe it's a hardware problem. It suddenly stopped working
Hi all,
I've encountered a strange and annoying problem with my H/U. Unit is a PX3 based Hizpo 6.2" Running 7.1.2
My problem is, when I turn on hotspot manually on my phone, the H/U happily auto connects and internets is available for spotify etc etc.
But, when I use an app (Hotspot start, Carspot ready, Car Automatic, or even made a flow in Automate) to automatically turn on my phone's hotspot when the bluetooth connection has been made, my H/U will not connect, it gets stuck at 'Obtaining IP address'.
I've tried lots of things but no joy.
Please help, thanks!
There was a change made to the Android system which stopped apps from enabling services. wifi is a service and can no longer be started by apps. I ran into the same issue a while back. It was all working perfectly for a while then an update borked it.

I got same issue I tried doing factory reset 2 times then it’s started working for 5 day then again same issue
I had the same problem and I solved it by disabling screen lock and using Tasker with secure settings and toucktask to simulate manual hotspot activation.
