Q: What is Google Play Edition?
A: GPE is stock Android compiled by Samsung, it offers the stability of touchwiz with the aesthetics of pure stock AOSP. All drivers for Camera (Including HDR), Bluetooth, GPS, are official proprietary so there will be no issues.
Q: Why 4.4.4 kitkat?
A: This basically sums it up, 4.4.4 is regarded as one of the best releases ever, meanwhile 5.x is regarded as the worst.

The installation instructions are a little confusing....what's the " Copy the > Modem & Kernel selector < zip in you sdcard and flash siyah kernel first! (also a modem version if you want...)" about? I don't think I have ever seen this before.
Nice to see new rooms will try in the future
yupp
nice!!!!!
So here's my experience so far. Downloaded and flashed the regular format all 2x and then flash ROM got it to boot but there was no data and I couldn't connect to WiFi. So then I booted back into cwm and followed the instructions in the op And didn't see where I could get the kernel zip from so I went to the original thread found it there and pro ceded with the instructions only to boot into a version of cwm that didn't let me see my external zip. Wasn't sure if it was a safe version of cwm to flash from but had to take the chance since I'm gonna need my phone today n I'm not home. Luckily was able to flash back to paranoid android and still confused on how to do this op help us out
Glad to finally see Aroma on this phone. Always thought it was pretty cool. Thanks!

More than 4.4 Apps. More than a Theme. The complete KitKat Experience Pack
What it is?
* 4.4 Apps with required libraries. 100% functional
* System-wide theming, of SystemUI.apk and Framework-Res.apk based on Android 4.4
* 4.4 apps icon theming
* KitKat fonts
* KitKat boot animation
* KitKat media sounds
* In an all-in-one flashable .zip
Included Apps
* Hangouts, WITH MMS INTEGRATION!
* Chrome
* Clock
* Email
* Exchange 2
* Gmail
* Google Play Services
* Google Home Launcher
* Google TTS
* Google Keep
* Google Search
* Latest Play Store
Tested to be 100% functional on the BeanStalk ROM I build, and it should be compatible with other roms
Flash the zip in recovery, and enjoy!
Issues in the main package:
- NONE
Things you have to do to get the full KitKat Experience:
- In your custom rom, change your status bar time color to white
- Pick your favorite 4.4 wallpaper
To use the 4.4 keyboard go to Language & input settings, activate Google Keyboard and set it as default
Note that a clean install of your rom is recommended along this package
1) Flash your rom, clean install
2) Flash your Gapps
3) Flash the Kit Kat Experience pack
I did not include the 4.4 Camera, had issues on BeanStalk. It comes as a separate package, maybe you'll have better luck
- Known issue of 4.4 Camera: Photo edit in gallery FCs. Rest works well

Flashable kit kat easter egg maybe?
I've flashed this on pretty much every AOSP rom on this thread on the international version and also the Roms over at Rootzwiki and it worked nicely each time. Some Roms took slightly longer to boot, but in the end all worked great from what I saw.

I'm going to try it with pac man rom, I'll get back for some feedback.
working on illusion rom on note 2! thank you very much. i have two camera icons and apps (4.3 and 4.4) that both work! chrome crashes but i use UC browser anyway, so no biggie. the launcher works! however, i am unable to put an icon widget (for k-9 email) on the dock like I used to in nova. but on the whole, thank you!
Does the "ok google" feature work for you guys?

Q: What is Google Play Edition?
A: GPE is stock Android compiled by Samsung, it offers the stability of touchwiz with the aesthetics of pure stock AOSP. All drivers for Camera (Including HDR), Bluetooth, GPS, are official proprietary so there will be no issues.
Q: Why 4.4.4 kitkat?
A: This basically sums it up, 4.4.4 is regarded as one of the best releases ever, meanwhile 5.x is regarded as the worst.

should be good, just had to verify some things, I've thoroughly tested this build and its sweet. I'll post my kernel settings tomorrow .
follow install instructions in the OP, AT&T users must flash loki doki assuming the bootloader lets them, please provide feedback.
Nice Dan. Was running dandroid on my s3 before I got the s4. Was wondering when I'd see some of your work over here. Jumped ship to att? Glad I can still run att roms on t mobile but I always come back to t mobile roms because of wifi calling. Downloading now to play around.

Hey Dan,
Rom is running great on my rogers i337m, love it.
I guess if we want Pictures2SD, we can just use the apk that's been floating around?

Any help with Samsung Link
Wonderful ROM Dan, Thanks for the upload. Great speed, and everything seems to work with no issues so far. can't get the Kitkat launcher to work yet, keeps requesting for google search even after installing, but I'm sure i can fix that.
It sucks to own the an expensive smartphone and yet be the last to get a routine update, damn Samsung.
Just a noob question if you don't mind. The only feature of TW i love is the Samsung link app. the fact that it flawlessly connects to my laptop for file exploration is just amazing. so is there anyway to install it on this ROM? I can live without it, but life would not really be the same.
