ok so what i have is a s3 not rooted that bricked hours after ota update..i tried a few things that i have been reading on here..i see now that odin is telling me (no pit partiton).i think that is the reason why i cant root it or flash roms or anything to it.tried to just clean root it so i can save my photos and file.i read on here adb can get files off but no luck with that because it wont connect to phone..if i flash the stock pit file in odin do you think that will fix it without deleting files? and i wanted to do stock bootloader in hopes thats the problem but all i ever get is pay file sites are hotfile that takes 3hours to dl only to crash halfway so i cant get a damn stock bootloader...any ideas? thanks

AT&T Galaxy SIII Bricked While Trying to Flash Back to Stock... Desperate For Help
Had my AT&T Galaxy S III rooted, stock ROM. Was having some issues after rooting so I decided to go back to bone stock, completely unroot so I flashed the I747UCALEM build from these forums on Odin 3.07. Needless to say the phone was held up mid flash, and I got a "FAIL" in Odin. When I tried to reboot the phone, I got a "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again" When I reboot the phone this comes up and it's almost like a permanent download mode. I tried to reflash in Odin to unbrick the phone and it fails every single time.
Am I completely screwed? If I send it back to Samsung like this they'll see the that I rooted (didnt trip the flash counter) and void my warranty. Not sure what to do here. Thanks for any advice guys.

Sounds like you got a bad file re-download the AT&T software again from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737848 make sure you have Kies disabled i do think if its running in the background odin won't flash right don't hold me to it.and as long as you can get in download mode you should be able to fix it.also check here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1727443

Hmm this actually happened to me first time I tried to root (stupid computer fell asleep mid flash) however I was just able to reenter download mode and flash again, curious though , what did the screen say and where In the flash process did the Odin fail, for Me luckily it was 2/3 of the way through flashing system so I didn't have much to worry about. Though I imagine if it was writing something important like the sbl or somethimg and it failed you might be in trouble . All in all I would say try flashing again a few times maybe the file you downloaded is bad.

Downloading the UCALEM build from that link now on my laptop (my PC is notorious for connection issues with this phone, I should of known) and I'll pray for the best. Thank you very much for the help, I'll post back once I'm on my way.
I can't even download either firmwares. The direct downloads stop for some random reason at around 33 MB and there's 0 seeders for the torrent versions. Any other way to get these firmwares? Samsung updates isn't being nice tonight.

The update is in Kies as well.
Finally got the update to download, used a different browser. Flashed the new build through Odin and it worked, unbricked the phone. Apparently it is the connection through my regular PC. Thanks for everyones help!

You do have a sprint S3 correct?
What file did you originally flash?
For reference the other threads on this specific matter: First thread and Second Thread
ive been trying to fix this issue on my own for the past 5 hours but just cant so i'm going to try to get help from you lovely people at XDA.
so i tried to unlock my bootloader using CASUAL and it soft bricked my phone failing half way through. now when i try to boot into the OS, it says theres been a fireware problem, reset using kies.
so kies is not compatible with verizon note 2's, awesome, i know.
so i try to use ODIN to flash a stock rom in download mode. and ODIN will not recognize my phone in download mode. ive tried every driver package under the sea and nothing seems to work. and on top of that, when ODIN used to work, it kept failing at boot.bin files and would fail.
so i cant get ODIN to recognize my phone any more, but my computer does, and the files i try to download all fail at the boot.bin file.
any help would be great, i know i can get this phone fixed its just very frustrating at the moment.
for those wondering, i fixed this issue by using another windows computer to find my phone via odin,
then just flashed the PIT file, nothing in the PDA section.
phew. trial and error.
where did you get PIT file?

Maybe u r not flashing correct stock firmware version. Go to android settings-about phone and tell me what it says under baseband version. Then check this thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2369125
Under links, there is link for stock unrooted firmware versions. The last 3 numbers/letters of ur baseband should match up with one of firmwares there. Odin should let u flash that one and u will have to start over rooting, custom recovery, flash CORRECT rom for ur device model, etc. . Link to rom u flashed please? Let me know
U can post questions like this in my thread for gs3 with lollipop help and troubleshooting if u like...
honestly i couldnt tell u im stuck at the blue bouncing or flashing head logo and cant get past. all i know is my phone is a sph-L710T and current binary: custom, system status: custom, qualcomm secureboot: Enabled, bootloader ap swrev 1, secure check fail boot in download mode and in recover i get (E:/failed to mount /efs Invalid Argument) wont mount sd either says failed i tried abd and and kies and it wont recognize it or cant find it. getting to the point i just wanna smash it lmao
heres a couple threads with related issues. maybe u can learn a little more about problem. I think i know what to do, but i dont give advice unless i know for sure. Let me know if these links didnt help u figure it out.

ok i made it some how back to stock before i read this but stuck in factory mode and went to efs folder and there is nothing in it how do i change to user mode now lol
Recently my phone (A520F) started rebboting itself, i didnt think much of it until one day i left it charging and i came back to seeing my phone on Download Mode. I tried getting out of it but it brings me right back to it. When i charge it, download mode. When i turn it on, download mode. I believe the ROM got damaged or something inside. I tried flashing it with odin using the Home CSC so i wouldn't lose important data, but when i tried to start it a error came saying that there was no PIT Partition.
Is there a way to install the PIT Partition without formatting my device? Because i heard you needed to. Or anyway i can get my data out? It's been a week since i cant access my data and im pretty worried.
Sorry if this isnt the right place to ask, first time ever using this platform.
Do you have a PIT file selected in the Odin from the stock ROM?

Sorry for the late reply.
I do not have a PIT file selected, because im afraid that if i do select the PIT File correctly, and it flashes, it will format my device. I heard it somewhere, though i dont remember where.
I do have one ready for use.
